No need to apologize for the "just at home" video. This was great! I like seeing how other people cook adobo. I use equal parts water, soy sauce, and vinegar, enough to make a lot of juice because we love the juice over rice. Then thicken it a bit with flour. It looks delicious! Yes, home cooking will make you healthy, fast!

Get well soon Tom! Can see in your eyes that you are still not well. Though you need to recover, please do not eat too much carbs. Add more veggies to your diet. I am sure with the caring Lay, you will recover in no time. Going to the wet market or making any inquiries for prices, i will not bring or my foreigner husband will hide, as prices will ne marked up. Just a suggestion to Lay whilst cooking with vinegar, please do not stir immediately after you put the vinegar. Let the juice with the vinegar boil first, then stir. The taste will be better as the sourness will mot be too sharp. Just a suggestion 😂

Well done cooking, Lay! May I suggest that when you add the vinegar, let it boil for at least three minutes before mixing ,so you don't get that sour vinegar aftertaste. Also, please keep your Hepatitis shots up-to-date guys, in case you can't avoid eating out . Sanitation in Karenderya, Street food, Fast food and even Restaurants are unfortunately not a priority in the Philippines. Anybody can sell food, for there are no regulations and food safety.
Hey Tom. Nice to see you are feeling better bro. The chayote vegetable is soo lami Tom. Can be used in various meals. Lay made Manok Adobo. I use sometimes in soups here in Melbourne. My first time eating Chayote was couple years ago (2019) when I concrete the area between Papa and Mama house n Edebeth home. Nice area now for celebrations and eating outside. No more mud n water between the houses. I also had work done between our house and Edebeth house. New cement around the front and side of the houses using rocks to make foundation. My gf Liza is the same as Lay with too much rice on the plate hehe. Far too much for me to eat. Chayote is soo nice to eat in various soups.
It is pronounced as you did...chayote is great in pork or chicken tinola. It's sort of like opo which is also delicious in tinola along with green papaya.
Hey Lay and Tom! this is just a friendly suggestion about another Recipe for home cooking. Try making Spaghetti ( not filipino style - No Sweet taste) and italian salad - baguette too. GREAT COMBINATION

Use also chopped fresh ginger it’s very healing and good for your gut health really-seriously … unless you are not into ginger. Lots of chopped garlic and vinegary is the best. In my cooking always has ginger no matter what I cook.

Ciote is more related to apples, in fact they use it as a substitute for apples here in apple pie here in America when apples are out of season.

Eat veggies, too. Lighten up your salt/soy. Drink lots of water. It's better to cook adobo in a pot so that you can place more liquid.
