    great lesson! i only have to add that the Lenny chord (emaj6dadd9) has a Bb bass on it, so is a 6 string chord and you mute the A, out of that, world class lesson.

    Hey, nice lesson, I really like the live intro. I think that the C13 might actually be an E#11 from lydian. The tritone of B would be an F.

    • @PowMusic
      @PowMusic  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Thom! I interpreted it as replacing the five chord with a tritone substitution - a dominant chord one half step up from the chord it's resolving to. So C13, since resolving to the B6. Does that make sense to you? I know a lot of this stuff can be interpreted in different ways!

    Your cripplinging new players by posting TAB. They will never train their ear if they rely on TAB....Very Sad,

      It's not about TAB, it's about teaching CONTEXT

    • @jimirox1928
      @jimirox1928 5 месяцев назад

      @@PowMusic Then leave the TAB out and let the students learn by listening to it or they they'll NEVER be able to jump on stage and jam to a song they're not familiar with. You can't dispute that TAB is harmful to new players.

    • @PowMusic
      @PowMusic  27 дней назад

      There's no TAB in this video....do you mean, showing the intervals, chord diagrams, scales, and the musical context? Because that is completely different than TAB which just tells you where to put your fingers.

    • @jimirox1928
      @jimirox1928 26 дней назад

      @@PowMusic Sorry bud. Looks like TAB to me. Perhaps that's because I never use TAB. It looks like Tab or some sort of finger pattern cheat to me. I learned Lenny and RP by ear 20 years ago and it was fairly simple barring the complicated solos. Cheers. Sorry for the confusion.😏

    • @PowMusic

      It's been that way since the dawn of musical notation and guitar/lute diagrams and notation. The lowest string is on the bottom, the highest string is at the top. Low notes at bottom, high notes at top. Look up a fretboard diagram and 99.9 percent of them are going to be like this....I'd advise you get used to it so that you can make use of the vast majority of resources. Imagine the guitar is on your lap and you're looking down at it.
