I taught guitar and suited jazz guitar at a conservatory and I have to say this may be the best teaching method/video style I’ve ever seen. This is just incredible and so intuitive. So impressed. Great work. Definitely Subscribed
Thank you for opening this can of worms! I am subscribing! I've seen him live 4 times, and we all miss him dearly. Thank you Garry. I thought it sounded kinda Riviera Paradisey
@@PowMusic Just wondering about the way you made the the chord charts work with the video - is this your own design or a third party software? Its the best thing Ive ever seen for video lessons!
@@PowMusic Don't know why I never realized how cool it was before - now have 2 years worth of videos to go over ! Pow Music is my new favorite channel :-D
Hey Gary great lesson, really helpfull with the chords displayed and the great explanation and theory. I get lost between Riveria and Lenny, allways have, start one and finish with the other :) I got a lot from your lesson and hope your channel will be a big sucess! i will definitely be a patreon, all the best
great lesson! i only have to add that the Lenny chord (emaj6dadd9) has a Bb bass on it, so is a 6 string chord and you mute the A, out of that, world class lesson.
Thanks Thom! I interpreted it as replacing the five chord with a tritone substitution - a dominant chord one half step up from the chord it's resolving to. So C13, since resolving to the B6. Does that make sense to you? I know a lot of this stuff can be interpreted in different ways!
@@PowMusic Then leave the TAB out and let the students learn by listening to it or they they'll NEVER be able to jump on stage and jam to a song they're not familiar with. You can't dispute that TAB is harmful to new players.
There's no TAB in this video....do you mean, showing the intervals, chord diagrams, scales, and the musical context? Because that is completely different than TAB which just tells you where to put your fingers.
@@PowMusic Sorry bud. Looks like TAB to me. Perhaps that's because I never use TAB. It looks like Tab or some sort of finger pattern cheat to me. I learned Lenny and RP by ear 20 years ago and it was fairly simple barring the complicated solos. Cheers. Sorry for the confusion.😏
It's been that way since the dawn of musical notation and guitar/lute diagrams and notation. The lowest string is on the bottom, the highest string is at the top. Low notes at bottom, high notes at top. Look up a fretboard diagram and 99.9 percent of them are going to be like this....I'd advise you get used to it so that you can make use of the vast majority of resources. Imagine the guitar is on your lap and you're looking down at it.

Great video
Wow you are an awesome teacher ✌🏿👏🏿👍🏿
YOG
Thanks Gary 👍🏽👍🏽
I am looking to learn and understand and you do it well😍
Man that guitar sounds insane 😍
Thanks Dennis! It was hard to get that tone. I miced my roland cube 30 and then in logic added a "heavenly chorus" and that did it :D
@@PowMusic Sounds so full. Great video too 💯

3:48 great!
Hey, nice lesson, I really like the live intro. I think that the C13 might actually be an E#11 from lydian. The tritone of B would be an F.
Thanks Thom! I interpreted it as replacing the five chord with a tritone substitution - a dominant chord one half step up from the chord it's resolving to. So C13, since resolving to the B6. Does that make sense to you? I know a lot of this stuff can be interpreted in different ways!
What software do you use to creat the animated fretboard? It is nice.
I was first view!? And i loveh ow it is so clean when uou play
Thanks Harry!!! 🎸
If we purchase your self paced fretlive do we also get access to the Lenny tab?
👍
Part 2? ;)
5 to 1 is secomdary dominant? Is that what he was doing?
What is fret live it looks awesome
Thanks! It's our system for showing the notes, scales, chords, and theory that are being played in real time :D Glad you find it useful!
who's Lenny? is he talking about Lenny Brau? I wonder.
his wife :)
Please do regurlarly
I'm trying my best, Isaac. Thanks for the support!
Wrong arrangement he tune down half step
Your cripplinging new players by posting TAB. They will never train their ear if they rely on TAB....Very Sad,
Know all.
It's not about TAB, it's about teaching CONTEXT

Yours almost sounds like footsteps in the dark Isley brothers 😂
I don't understand why you put the encrypton diagram at the inverse on the way we are looking the video instrucciones !!!.😮😒😵😧😱
