  • Unboxing HP's EliteBook 840 G7 with an Intel Core i7-10810U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and 4G LTE
Update: The issue that I had with the OOBE on this unit was a known issue with Windows 10, and it's since been fixed. I haven't had any issues at all since I shot this video.

The power button to turn the laptop on is on the keyboard itself. It's the 2nd keystroke on the very top right next to the delete button.
It took me a while tp figure this out. I hope this helps others.

I really wish HP would switch to 16:10 or 3:2 aspect ratio, EliteBooks are business laptops after all.

Hey, IT guy here, let me explain the "still working on it..."
That's the Windows OS checking the windows update server if there are any major feature/security updates to the installer as well as the OS build. That's not a bug, that's actually a good thing. When you load software on to a computer, and then sell it, by the time it reaches the consumer, the software/drivers are usually already outdated.
So no it's not a Windows bug, lol.

Honestly. You missed one thing. you didn't show us where is the power button

The power button to turn it on is actually on the keyboard. The second keystroke button from the top right.
It took me a while to figure it out.

I believe the G5 and G6 have the absolute same body, maybe screen panel is a bit different.

Oh, this is the latest/greatest... back to my original question... Hope this tells me how to power up! Just got my company issued and seems pretty dead... plugging it in and, at least, power button is on...
Oh, it’s just another KEYBOARD button on the top right... three keys in from the Right (first Laptop I used that didn’t have its own power on - on the body - not the keyboard🤨

I’ve had HP “elitebook” since compaq. They are the best. I currently own G1-G7. They don’t hang up like other laptops run smooth. I recommend. I have G1-G7 non touch and G1 and G3 touch. Total 9. I use my touch for my linux boxes. Arch and Debian.

Please review the new Dell G7 15 with the i5H and 1660 Ti. It has an 86WHr battery and has the potential to be a great long-battery gaming laptop for under $1,000. I want to know - how comfortable is the keyboard? How is the screen - is it calibrated enough to be okay for photo editing? What is the battery life? Please and thank you!

hi! you mentioned this is a 'business' laptop, and i was wondering what exactly makes it so? is that as opposed to a 'gaming' or 'everyday' laptop, or is there something else about it that makes it qualify as such.... im just curious and wanted to know if anybody could answer! thank you! :D

    • @TheGeoDaddy
      @TheGeoDaddy 3 года назад +1

Since I didn’t see an answer...
“Business” means it has an easy setup to lock it down for security... encryption... audit... secured I/O to make sure you aren’t sending or receiving anything from outside the company’s Intranet... or shouldn’t IF fully enabled.

Have this laptop now from work and it's awesome. Wish they would have gone with 16/10 aspect ratio. That would be perfect because everything else is really good. Had the Dell equivalent and that was a nightmare. Never going Dell again.
