I’ve always loved the XPS line because it does a better job than most of competing with Apple in terms of design and build quality but they are not MacBook clones. Dell uses their own design that you won’t mistake for anything else.

I used to use an XPS 13 with a 7th gen cpu, 16 gb ram, 512 ssd and 4k display and although it was a very capable machine it just couldnt keep up with my workflow. I am a developer and I often need to build projects locally and have many VMs and emulators running with a lot of browsers and not to mention docker for desktop too. The problem with these things is that they are too thin to do real work on them for too long. The CPU ends up overheating and throttling over long durations of work which is a pain. This is why Apples M1 macbooks are far superior than any windows ultrabook at the moment because of the better heat management.
Still prefer the design of this and also prefer Windows 11 over mac os.

We have Dell xps at work and I've completely lost trust in Dell's reliability. My first laptop (got 3 years ago) started crashing randomly after a year, most probably memory issues. Replaced. The other one started shutting down randomly after around 6 months. Replaced. The next one (new out of the box) had issues with trackpad (just lagging / hanging). Replaced. The other one out of the box had screen issues (dead pixels). Replaced and insisted on getting a mac. No issues since staying on an M1 Pro.

Windows 11 releases updates aggressively and older drivers do not work sometimes. I got lucky because ASUS released a camera driver within a week. Laptops are getting tonnes of negative reviews. It appears its due to Windows updates and memory intense background services. Its time that manufactures demand that Microsoft fix these problems.

We have had a bad experience with this laptop - the i7-1280p model thermal throttles like crazy, under normal load, making the laptop significantly underperform it's potential. QC is also pretty bad, the model we received has light bleeding around the edges of the screen, and the computer gets super hot during normal use. Battery life also sucks. Lucky to get 4 hours with battery saver on. Thought it might be a dud, but it sounds like lots of other users are experiencing similar issues. The laptop looks amazing, but the thermals and power-hungry P series chips really ruin the experience.

Bought one to replace my 9Q33 laptop which is just that ...a laptop for sitting in the recliner with. Also bought a WD22TB4 dock so one cable to one TB4 port is all thats needed . Everthing including TV plugs into Dock . Nice solution although I would have prefered the 2in 1 version , but it doesnt allow hard drive replacement so i went with the normal clamshell Top spec but with OLED touch. Im a mouse man so will have a type c mouse in the other port and one in the dock so i have portable mouse option without unplugging . Lenovo makes a type c mouse so i have ordered that as well. Those that do loads of work on a laptop are surely expecting too much from a portable device . They should be at a desk !......... and NOT working from home ....Slack shits !😁

Best Buy has had these on display for over a month or two. Surprise he’s just getting around to reviewing it. There was a recall on them. Design flaw. I believe the screens were separating from the unit. Something along those lines.

I think for a 15" or 16" it needs to get thicker and the portability of it will decrease a bit ,

i wanted to buy this, but my previous computer was a Dell, with just horrible reliability. Tons of screen issues. Couldnt do it. So i bought the Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 instead. Suuuuuper thin and capable with like 3x the number of ports that this one has. Dell's quality is a bit discouraging.

The *60 Hz is killing me,* when most similar Windows Ultrabooks are now *putting up 90 Hz.* I'm definitely considering the *OLED display.* It looks fascinating.

If you are a programmers do not buy this laptop. This laptop is meant for watching video and browsing the web which you can get a Chromebook for half the price. As soon as you start programming on this laptop you will quickly realize all the function keys (ESC, F1...F12) are gone and are replaced by what Apple used to have (touch bar) before they took it out due to backlash from the customers and the communities
