Hi Lori! I'm so happy I found you! I'm 5'1" and recently gained 20 pounds. My healthy lifestyle is no longer enough to keep the weight off. I hear this from so many women! We are all in this together and we are FABULOUS. ♥
@@LoriLundquist It is SOooo frustrating but I've decided to move away from resistance and move into acceptance. Not that I've stopped trying to lose the weight but you know what I mean--Body Love, Baby no matter what we weigh. Like you so brilliantly said, we need our clothes to meet us where we are today. And in this moment it is what it is. It's time to stop feeling bad and just shop shop shop! 😀
Hello my name is Elizabeth, 11:28 and I live in Upstate New York. I'm 5ft tall as well. I will be 58 on Wednesday. It's so hard to find a youtuber who's my height and not a size 0 or over 50, but they dress like a grandma. I used to be a pear shape, but thanks to menopause, I'm an apple. I clicked on because we're the same height. I subscribed because we seem to have similar taste. God bless n have a good day.
Hi Elizabeth! So happy you are here! There is a community here that’s full of petite women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond. (Who aren’t size zero 😉). I hear you on the menopause, it’s ruthless! Welcome!! ♥️
@@LoriLundquistI was doing fine until I caught a cold and lost my voice! 😱 But I can see my family on Friday and hopefully I will be able to sing by Christmas Day. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.
@@AlexLouiseWest oh Alex sending prayers for your voice! I know singing is very special for you. Hope you have a speedy recovery and a very Merry Christmas ♥️
I am barely 5'00'' and I have cracked the code for the best most flattering pants and jeans for me, finally. For pants, the Aritzia Effortless Regular Cropped are just perfect. They are full length (on me) and so super flattering, especially in the tummy area. The short cropped were a bit too short but the Regular Cropped (with flat shoes) or Tall cropped (with heels) are awesome. They run small and I had to size up 2 sizes but I didn't mind because they are so incredibly flattering. For jeans, hands down, the Agolde Mid Rise Harper Wide leg cropped are perfection. The Agolde Riley mid-rise straight leg cropped are perfect too. Love them. I also really love the Agolde Parker Straight Leg. The Agolde jeans I have all run true to size.
I have a very short waist which makes some higher rise pants nearly touch my rib cage. Thank you for the inclusive mid rise options. $250.is over the top pricey for me but the AE pair even when it’s not on sale speaks to me! My weight gain after menopause combined with Covid has continued to be a struggle, looking forward to watching your next video.
I just wanted to thank you for this episode. The Rekucci pants are a life saver! Going through peri-menopause, none of the pants from my past favorite brands don't fit me anymore. The Rekucci pants fit so well and are comfortable to wear all day at work. Thank you, Lori!❤
I could hardly believe the difference the black top and black pants made. Slimming and elongating the look. Cutting it with a different colour at the waist is obviously not the best choice. I have some wardrobe work to do! Thank you for all the options
Hi Lori! It's good to see you! For once, my favorite of everything is the Eagle jeans at $27 - that is very unusual for me because I almost always love the higher end stuff I really can't afford - especially the over $200 pair!!! At 4'9" (boy, have I shrunk from my towering 5' when I graduated from high school in 1966 😁), I am 3" shorter than you are so hemming is nearly always a necessity.🙄. I could never wear wide-legged pants at my height now. I had a birthday in November and am now 75 but don't feel or look it (no smoking and/or drinking helps a lot in that regard). I think you wore all of these pants very well and look just beautiful - as usual! ❤Kathleen
@@LoriLundquist I sure did - I found one at JJ's House in a steel grey (wedding colors are sage, peach and a soft grey). It is a Petite 4 and fits well, has a built in bra that is just heavenly, a sort of straight/a-line under skirt with an over lying silky material with a sort of a handkerchief hem - very feminine. The waist is very fitted and the sleeves are flutter sleeves that reach the middle of my upper arm. This gorgeous dress only cost 80.$ and that is great because I am sure I will only wear it once. I bought silver, slingback sandals and think this will come together for a nice look at the wedding. It's not a mother or grandmother of the groom look which I wouldn't be able to stand. 😊
I’m jumping into this conversation. Hope you ladies don’t mind. My daughter is getting married May 4, 2024. She wants me to walk her down the aisle. Bridesmaids are wearing an almost cornflower/hydrangea blue. I have no idea what color to wear!!! Bridesmaids dresses are from JJ’s House. Amazing prices! Any suggestions on colors? Thanks for letting me barge into your conversation😊
@@lindajames4922 Hey Linda!! I love this! @kathleenmckeithen118 do you have any recommendations? Linda I’m going to have to think on that one. What color doesn’t compete with cornflower blue?
Hi Lori, I have to thank you for the recommendation for Liverpool jeans/pants. I ordered a pair of the Kelsey Ponte pants and they fit like a glove! This never happens. I got a 14P and the waist fits, the length is perfect, and most importantly the rise is not an outrageously high one! It's about 10.5" and works great. I also got a pair of their cropped jeans that were on sale (went with a 12P for these) and they fit great too. They have the same 10.5" rise. Now I'm worried I'll have to purchase several pairs as I never thought my old jeans would be remade into an completely unwearable version for me (they turned into a higher rise and high rises seem to be going nowhere)! I've become a bit anxious about losing a good thing. Thank you once again for your recommendations. I really, really appreciate your detailed reviews and I found a great resource for jeans and pants!
Hi Lori, I am so glad to find your channel! I am a petite as well, I love your suggestions, great brands at great prices & petite length, so awesome. Trisha Goodwin 💜
I'm very happy to see someone closer to my size and shape giving suggestions. 🎉 For bigger hips and thighs, which is nore flattering... baggy or more fitted? I always wore baggy, but maybe I was just embarrassed and trying to hide but was actually making myself look bigger? Thank you.
Hi Teresa! It’s all about what you feel best in. If you’re used to baggy styles you could try a straight leg style as it tends to be universally flattering. I partial to a bootcut style which is more fitted in the hips but the slight flare at the bottom of the leg really balances out proportions. Just try on different styles and see what you like. And don’t be afraid to have the length tailored if it’s too long. Hope this helps a little! ♥️
Thank you so much for answering! I do feel more frumpy in baggy but thought that was what I was "supposed" to wear to hide bigger thighs. I will be braver about trying those you suggest. Also, I always need to hem skirts and dresses, as they invariably trail on the ground. What is the best length? I am 5'3. Thank you.
@@teresazade7496 my suggestion would be to measure your inseam (might need someone to help you). If you intend to wear a heel then add an inch or two. Or just try on the pants or skirt then pin where you like the length (with shoes) and take it to the tailor. Depending on torso length etc everyone is different so best to measure and know your inseam. Will make shopping easier too!
I find that pants and jeans from Chicos fit well and last a long time. I do dry clean them. I am tryiing to find nice white or neutral tees for summer with elbow length sleeves in a large ( 14) but not too long. I also prefer natural fabrics. Any suggestions? Also like the trend of collared tops with shorter or elbow sleeves. Like polo shirts.
Yes, the midlife, midsection woes are mine too ! How did your lose the weight ? Just saw your recent videos and see the change . Are your loafers comfie ? They’re cute !
Hi Jamie! Thank you for pointing that out! I must have written down the wrong number, but you are correct, as stated on the website the petite size is 29 inches. If that is too short, you may want to look at the regular size. Thanks for the feedback! ❤
Unless you are thin pants that hug your bottom and your thighs emphasize your weight. For a flattering fit the fabric should fall straight from your bottom, not hug anywhere. Vthis is the most important fit point whether the style is straight or wide. I am leaving tapered leg pants, out because they won’t look good until much of the extra weight is gone and no stomach sticks out. I have a pair of nice Spanx pants I can’t wear until I’ve lost weight because they hug my thighs and therefore emphasize my less than flat stomach.
