It’s so frustrating when huge part of the population of women are short.. such few stores carry petites and the selection is horrible too .. stores think everyone who is short is frumpy .. no one focuses on 50 year old petite women who want to have cute everyday chlothes .. they could make a fortune if only would open their eyes
@@poisedpetite Also like Talbots for classics - many styles & colors , from traditional to seasonal brights , carry over from year to year so even if only shopping deep sales , items coordinate well . Lands End & LL Bean have nice selections of petites & good sales too !

Thank you for your informative video. I am 5', 112 lbs. And buying jeans is one of a challenge sometimes. I always have them hemmed even in petite sizes.
Thanks for the info on jeans. I'm 4'10 and more curvy than you so I haven't figured out which jean is best for me. I've been wearing jeggings a lot or a pair of slim fit Amanda Jeans. Also that was interesting about "floor space" in the retail store.
I have to hem up pants all the time! My recommendation is to run a base stitch along the hem after you cut them so you don't get the long fraying things.
Such a helpful video. Thank you for the explanation of retail space with regard to trends-made perfect sense. Great that you kept your top and sandals the same so we could compare the fit of each pair of jeans!
Just found your channel! Much appreciate your help for us petites! I'm 5'1" and a 1/4 LOL!! Had to add that bit as it's important LOL. Can't wait to watch all your videos. Love the frayed ones you altered! 😀
I'm 5 1 & 1/4 too, LOL! I loved the frayed look, but scared to death to cut them myself, especially for the price I pay for stinkin jeans, love this video!!!!!!!!
What an informative video, Lovely Lady! I can't get on board with the new trends for jeans, just don't look good on me, I am inverted shape/not much of a butt, got rid of some of my super skinny jeans, kept 2 skinny jeans, for they look decent on me with a low sandal/sneaker, don't wear much high heels due to feet problems, I like all the jeans you mentioned, will try them, a lot of good points were pointed out here, Ty so much for your time, of course all the good selections are online, I just hate the hassle of returning things, but gotta do it, if I want to look cute, LOL!
I loved this video! I am a WHBM person too but ours isn't the same as it use to be. I did find a sculturped pair like yours and bought on sale for give away price and haven't ever worn them much. They have a too big feeling to them. Thank you for the cutting the jeans instructions, I tried it on my Loft & Gap bermuda shorts I bought 2 years ago on vacation and never put on. The only thing I did different is left the shorts cuffed as I slipped out of them and ironed the cuff in so the line would be very visible to cut on. Folded them down & cut away! So easy and thanks again for giving us instructions!
I'm 5 foot 2 inches, and weigh 43 kilos, I make all my clothes, dresses pants tights, jackets, knit my own jumpers, cannot fit into anything from stores, even the smallest sizes swim on me, most store bought clothes are cheap crap, I have a very toned body from years of weight training. Now I know there is a whole industry behind societal trends and group think as I see younger people think/do the same to their skinny jeans as wide leg jeans come in. So loving you on YT! And I’m a petite at just under 5’ 1” so you are ever so helpful! I’m going to check out the Loft GF jeans bc I really liked those! Thanks so much!
As a petite that used to be able to shop in many different places, some exclusively for my size, it is now so much more difficult. Talbots, WHBM, Loft, AnnTaylor - these are places where you can find them, but often not all styles are carried in a petite size. WHBM jeans are great - although they are always out of my size! Love Loft denim, but they do not fit me :(. I have actually cut a pair of jeans - and guess what - the side seam came undone!
My sentiments exactly! Sometimes I can be inbetween sizes at WHBM because no petites in store and trying on regular ones., Same at Talbots which the only thing I buy in there is pants or jeans, petites are online, and in store everything too big unless I get lucky. Banana Republic has my favorite jeans in store and order online too. ANN Taylor factory is here but no regular store so you would have to shop online . Loft I wear also . Old Navy has cute ones in their new Fall boyfriend dark denim deep cuff........had to order the 00 but they did it in the store & free shipping after trying on the 0 and too big.I think it came in petite too.
All these jeans were perfect. Unfortunately, at an average of $100 out of my budget. It would be great if you could do a video on jeans that cost an average between $40-$50 to be more budget friendly as well as other types of casual, informal pants for petite women.
Thank you! I find it very hard to find straight leg jeans and all jeans relaxed which do not have this huge flattening back pockets. I have a good behind ;) but I feel that there are no contemporary shaped relaxed jeans with flattering unflatting pockets on the behind. What do you think?
No way I could wear any of those jeans, I wouldn’t be able to get my legs through. I’ve discovered Agolde 90’s loose fit jeans. They’re perfect for me in a size 26. And I wear my old Jag foster flares. I would like to try more Agolde styles.
H&M’s “ankle” jeans work well as full-length for me, I’m 5’4”, but the selection of these is small and haphazard compared to their regular lengths. Ivory/ecru jeans are hot this season, I got a pair of their “cream” ones, but they’re darker than that, a light stone color (and not ankle length, either, but they might add some soon, I hope, and their jeans are low-priced).🙂
I only like 100% cotton, non-stretch jeans, but they’re a lot harder to find in petite or short lengths. I wish I could find a really high-waist pair with short legs, petites often size down in the rise too much, under 10 inches, my minimum.
@@poisedpetite Thank you. We are same height & wt, so knowing what size fit you really helps me know what to order. Great channel for petites. Thank you!
The average sized women in the US is 5’4” and a size 16, which most petite lines don’t offer, or even 14. It amazes me that brands keep making clothes that only work for the tiny minority of women who are 6-feet tall and a size 0. I’m a petite (5’4, but very short-waisted) and size 10, and I find very little offered in this size. Brands know that, unlike men, we put up with poor fit and size selection in the past. Let’s let them know that we won’t do this anymore, vote with your wallets, ladies! As for skinnies, good riddance, I always hated them. They wouldn’t stay up on my straight figure, but just wriggled down when I moved. I don’t find pants a success if I have to hold them on and up with both hands! Tight leggings or skinnies with a tunic or other big, long top is a silhouette that has been out of style for years and years. It’s a very aging, mature, look, especially if the pants are capris, too. I always, always tuck in my tops, it’s more important for petites to show the waistband, or the legs look stumpy. I wear a 2-inch or so heel whenever I can get away with it, too, I’m sensitive about having lost two inches, of mostly torso, height since my youth. Five-foot six was ok, but now I feel “too short”.
Agree ! Even the word " skinny " should have been a tip off that this style was not appropriate. For at home wear , ok , but as the old saying goes : " If it ain't pretty , don't put it out on the porch " ! 😂
