People complain about CA, but we have a law that prohibits property taxes from being assessed up more than 1% of market price at time of purchase. Only exception is if you pull permits for major home construction/improvement. Property tax is assessed annually at either 2% or inflation rate which ever is lower. It is now part of our CA Constitution. When home is sold, the property tax is based on the new purchase price, again at 1% of that market price. I could not stomach unpredictable annual tax re-assessments based on faulty computations. I feel really bad for the people of Franklin County.

Beep beep. The city council wants to give $8 million so people can ride the bus for free. Meanwhile, your burglar alarm goes off and the police might show up 2 hours later.
