      Illinois is a sinking Ship.
Glad I got out of there in 2003 (was born in Harvey and lived in Park Forest, 50 years ago) .
Both Political parties are to blame - Graft, Greed, Corruption and that Patronage stuff just costs so much more than just being above board.
What's happening in Markham is just a tiny Snapshot of what is happening....the problems are far and wide not just in Cook Country (although they are the worst) but all over the State.

Two PINs does not and should not mean double the tax on the tax bill. One PIN is improved and the other is not; meaning one PIN has the home on it and the other is a vacant lot. The improved parcel would and should have a higher tax bill than the unimproved parcel. Dispute the tax bill for the unimproved parcel as that tax bill should be, in this case, greater than 50% less than the improved parcel because it is vacant land.
