I think I trust GameStop to repair phones as much as I trust them to charge fairly...

Bro we need to respect this guys for wasting all his money on literally everything ❤ but this is a good phone
It’s an investment

He gets even more from people like me with RUclips premium. Not tryna flex either, it's simply a bona fide fact.

@@thisisntsergio1352That is why I used ad block 😂😂😂
My XR also has the scuff marks on the screws and it was NEVER opened….
Got it for 3 or 4 years now and it’s going strong
I got the same exact phone from GameStop, but the box was different, and the battery was changed. Still a 10/10 for mine
For how much?
300, it was a while ago
@@shronicthehedgeogre2153Great!
If the battery has been replaced thats fine but 87% battery health is completely unacceptable for $400..I’d be taking it back in a heartbeat..
@@9852323 my XR is at 81% I thought 87 wasn’t bad It’s been like four years since it came out.
I remember commenting awhile ago on a community post that you should check these phones out, good to see they came to light. Nice video
The thing is, there are now a lot of authorized repair dealers who are able to get OEM parts. Or it could be an actual trade in that didn’t get fixed before, you could probably somehow check the history of the parts used too since with OEM parts they require to be serialized to finish work orders/repairs

I absolutely love love every video and it’s content. This video was a surprise to me as I did not know that GameStop sold phones. Probably would not buy a phone from there personally. Keep up your amazing work.
Lots of love and support from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada 💕 😁
Thank you! :)

I’ve got a theory about the damage on the screws: the previous owner could've tried to remove the screws with the wrong tool but failed and damaged them instead

Great video bro, btw the marks on the screw holes may be really from usage … I have an XR too, never opened, but I have that also
Mine are mint black
i like that test app you have there, its like an android test menu, and what i took away from this is they bought it, probably alcohol wiped the outside, and resold it for an upcharge.
Great videos as always. Backmarket comes highly recommended for refurbished phones and considering importing one from them. Would be good to see how good they are.
there's a site i keep seeing ad's for with some lady say looks like new but half the price or something on youtube you might have seen it. love the channel brother keep it up
Maybe Amazon or another company that’s kind of popped up is back market but I feel they are pretty good because of how popular they’ve gotten recently
You should test out Plug Tech. I've seen a lot of their TikTok ads and it seems too good to be true. Love the vids! Keep it up!
It would be cool to se how good the eBay “refurbished” devices are!
Oh I see the fake giveaway scammers are attacking this channel also. Beware.... Don't fall for it.
@@JavaRatusso Yeah I’ve seen them a lot on all tech channels
Oh boy, back in 2020 I bought a Chromebook from dell for school off of eBay. It… well… it set itself on fire. Almost burned down my house. Never got another Chromebook again, especially after google started to lie about that that laptops can do, like that say you can play games on it, most Chromebooks I see have celerons/pentiums/core i3’s, you can’t play games on those
@@crazychicken2005 few years back i bougt a iphone 6s and the seller didnt tell me it had a bad IEMI
Me realising Gamestop is selling phones now. In 2050 , Welcome to everythinggamestop
Might be sooner than that lol
They been selling phones since like 2012 lol
Well if they replaced it with a non Apple Original battery and didn’t program it it will come up as an error also the screen as well u can also test if it this has True Tone working. So sometimes with a screen not from style u lose Face ID or it start acting up.
I bought an iPhone 11 Pro in Midnight Green for $5 more than the iPhone XR you bought on Amazon. The only difference is that it didn't come in the original apple box. It had one minor damage to the stainless steel, but overall, a great buy for a pretty affordable price.
PRG is my favourite youtuber😃 Becouse of him I repaired a phone myself. Thank you, PRG
Hey, nice video also please test a refurbished phone from Ebay.
great content as always!
Do a Walmart phone. Cause that was where I got my A grade refurbish phone from.
I love your channel and I learn a lot from them. Keep making them bro! 👍
Don't fall for the fake giveaway.. It's a scammer
Yo prg u r so insightful plz tho test out the local corner shop phone sellers I really don’t even know who to trust nowadays but I have built up some knowledge from u thx bro appreciate it
0:16 That savage elbow right into the box to open it 😂 😂
What about back market? Gotta see if they hold their end about refurbished products
Which software did you use to test the phone ?
2:35 Hearing that phrase with a calm demeanor was a bit weird. 😅
Amazon, Bestbuy, Walmart are good ones to test; also maybe get one from a local cell phone shop - I get mine fixed / buy refurbished from him. They are inclined as well to give discounts are you’re right infront of them, if you mention a similar price on one of these sites, they can knock off $50 most of the time, my iPhone 10 XR was only $250 and I see this one was $400 😅
EB Games in Australia is a store you should check out for refurbished devices
Used to work there. Man, oh man
Tired their Black Friday deal for XR max, phone exterior was excellent (too excellent for an old phone), 98% battery health however it had a battery drain issue. Returned and got full money back.
Wow, i'm really impressed! Gamestop does pretty good job at restoring phones!
Hey may I ask after you test these phones do u sell them?Or save them for future projects
What microphone do you use and how do you make it sound so good!? ^^
Btw can you test swappa? I love your videos thanks for test
How about all these refurbishing companies like backmarket??
Nice video
You must try refurbished phones from backmarket as they have a good pricing range and pretty good conditioned phones
I just bought a new se 3 and I wanted to charge the phone and the screws got scuffed by the charger so maybe that’s what happened with the XR
You should also try this back market thing that’s been popping up on my RUclips ads
I wonder how lowball the previous got from gamestop during the trade in🤔
Where do you recommend to get repare stuff for watches because I can't find anything usefull and nowhere will deliver to the uk
I love your videos!
Greetings from Croatia!
What do you use to test the software is it an app? Is it something that is only available for apple or can it be used on Android devices as well
I'm looking for help on phone repairs myself but am pretty poor any suggestions were u can get glass replacements done for a blu g90 pro
Where do you get them shipped to you? I tried ordering one and it says only shipments to Russia and the EU
I’m just about as surprised as you are with how good the phone is overall.
Could you do Amazon refurbished? I bought a Note 20 ultra from them refurbished, and it seems great! However, I'm curious to see how good of a job they actually do on their refurbished phones.
Heyy you should get a small UV light to check for fingerprints when opening the phone. It would probably help you out and it's pretty cheap. Cheers!
very good phone detective work!
Hallo @Phone Repair Guru,
Is it possible to make a backup on a iPod touch, without password?
@phonerepairguru my Taptic Engine was making noise and I thought tightening the screw would fix the problem but the repairer claimed I need to replace. The screw was loose actually but he said Taptic Engine screw should be bit loose, is it correct?
I have a couple ideas you should test Walmart target and back market
There's a company in the UK named musicmagpie. They do dvds, games, phones, tablets. I asked them on eBay if the phone: either s9 plus or iPhone: was waterproof or had the seal replaced. They said they couldn't say which was very dojy to me as they're a realky big company.
for us its Decluttr
I don't really think a 10/10 is warranted with a battery health of 87%. Not bad, but it could've been replaced, reprogrammed, and a new seal installed. Then again, this is GameStop we're talking about.
@Quickly form Well yes, the 87% was from whoever previously owned the phone, but for a "refurbished" phone, I'd expect a battery with as close to 100% as possible, which means replacing it. Replacing it (with correct programing) resets it.
CEX here in the UK sold me an iPhone with a fake screen and battery that fell apart 5 months later. They swapped it and told me it shouldn’t have been sold as a class B or even at all
you should try a refurbished phone from backmarket
What application for testing are you using ?
I know there is probably a long waiting list but would you be interested in fixing my old iphone XR? Cracked screen, face ID does not work, and some water damage. Would be super cool if you were able to fix it!
"we'll hit this phone with uhh, unscrew"
love it
Where did u get the flipper zero?
I HAVE THE BEST IDEA EVER!!! can you put a normal display in the iphone 14 pro? so one without dymanic island? to see what happens
Were do you buy displays?
4:11 you should try phones that people independently sell on mercari lol
Great job bro..
Not sure if you have them where you are but we have a site called swappie in ireland and the uk and I mean it would be great if you could look into them, My sister has had a horrible experiance with an iPhone 12 Pro Max from them
Can I ask what software did you use? If that's okay
Which app do you use for checking software
Can you use it as a Hotel Keycard?
What’s that testing app called (the one you downloaded on your phone)
I bought an Iphone 13 Pro Max from Fnac. There was no scratch it seems new but i have no knowledge of internal hardware thanks to you i will perform those tests but what can i do to make sure it is new? Battery life was 95 when i opened it up
it was €1179

“Someone has been in here”
…Dankpods, is that u?
Will you make a video on getting iOS 16 on iPhone 7 merry Christmas
Hello can ask something do i need my phone to put it on controller or if i buy Nintendo switch does it have screen?
Should do macworld refurbished products.
Can you cover back market next
Is it safe to buy a refurbished iPhone like from Amazon since the FaceID parts like the IR camera and dot projector could have been replaced with aftermarket or third-party parts or damaged or tampered with and FaceID would still work? Wouldn't this be unsafe for your skin and eyes like Apple says on their support page since the FaceID parts wouldn't be the original/genuine parts?
Yes
Hey when will you be doing mail-ins again?
Its also possible that ganestop could have opened the phone to see if there were any missing compartments and just did horrible on the screws
@Official_phonerepairguru1 i know you arent the real youtuber
When will mail ins be open
Hey prg, what laptop do you have?
There is a company in the UK called music magpie. A customer needed a new screen on a iPhone she had bought from them, when I opened it up there were no plates or screws over the screen and top ribbon connectors. Give those cowboys a try.
Can you please try Back Market ?
Can u pls make videos on the flipper
Can you make a video about bypassing activation lock
Bro i am proud of you
Please buy some from Asurion. They’re like a phone “insurance” company or whatever but the one phone I got from them literally almost exploded so uhh 💀
Bro I literally work at a ubreakifix lol, they suck so bad. That’s why I’m doing my own business at this point. But the thing is Asurion does have some promise at least with their partnerships with Verizon and AT&T since you can get an OEM screen at least for about 50 bucks for a deductible. Just can’t do batteries for whatever reason which baffles me
@@bendriscoll4758 Yeah, I got my iPhone 6s replaced there and it was less than subpar ✋😬
@@tanxirotv right, the thing is they have to handle warranties the cheapest way possible. Yes they maybe a company based around helping you with your warranties and giving you insurance, it doesn’t however mean that they just get a brand new phone no problem on their end. Unfortunately they do have their own budget constraints which kinda stinks. I’ve literally had a home+ customer come in angry because someone messed up the LCD on an iPad during a depot repair. They were asking for another claim which was really retarded so we had to replace the iPad for the poor guy
The reason why this phone is in really good condition and not opened. Because game stop have a very strict trade in program for phone. 3 months ago I tried to trade in my iPhone to GameStop as they were paying the most, my phone was almost new and it took me to go to 4 different GameStop until it passed the visual test.
Test Back Market next.
I remember my mom bought me an iPhone 4s from GameStop it was a good condition
Try out Reboxed. They also sale refurbished phones
Bro I have a iPhone 6s and recently my phone screen went out. I’ve bought another 6s screen but I have the same problem. Today I’ve charged the phone and tested the new screen again but it actually worked, even the old one. But the problem is that I bearly see anything because the brightness was just too low, I’ve tried everything and even turn up the brightness on the phone, it shows that the brightness is all the way up but I still can’t see properly. Is there a way to fix this type of problem?
I bought my daughter a REFURBISHED PS4 from GameStop for Christmas and it came up with an error when I plugged it in (something about system memory) so I tried to boot it in safe mode... Same thing. Pulled the hard drive and it looks like it has been set on fire. I wish I could post the picture but clearly it wasn't refurbished or tested. Yes they sent me another one and I had them overnight it so it would be here for Christmas but now I'm doubtful if they even do anything but wipe them down and rebox them.
Which app did he use to test the features of the phone. Not talking about 3u tools
Do you fix nentendo switch light
U should test back market had friends buy phones from there
please can have some interesting website where I can buy iphone parts such as screens
Anything like 3utools that we can use to test on phone itself when purchasing refurbished phones? For both Android and iphone?
hey dude I was wondering, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 that I've had for some time, but something happened to it when I plugged in 2 years ago, and it does come on but... it just shows the Samsung logo for about 5 minutes and then switches off, we have tried installing new software and tried replacing the battery, nothing worked, so I was wondering if you have any tips on why its doing this and how to fix it, would be really really helpful because a new phone costs like 2000 over here :(
Sounds like an SoC/RAM issue, but I can't tell without bench testing the board, you need to find someone specialized in microsoddering who has an Octoplus box or any JTAG box solution with samsung support. Mind you that such repairs are only worthy if you need to recover important information from your device because it is delicate and time consuming, otherwise you're better off just getting a new one.
u should try to do a walmart if u have a walmart
I'd ask you to test refurbishers from Australia (mobile carriers boost and amaysim but also ozmobiles, reebelo, phonebot, frank mobile, kogan and mobile federation) - but that would cost you a fortune.
