- 2018 Ford Raptor Motor Oil Change is fairly simple because you don't have to jack it up. Just be careful when you take the yellow plastic motor oil cap out because the plastic ear tabs can crack and break. I recommend keeping an extra yellow oil pan cap at all times in your vehicle.
The only other tool that's not very standard is a Torx 40 Starkey you need to get to the oil filter. Everything else is basic.
I recommend changing the motor oil no more than 3000 miles on the first motor oil change. You'll see there was some good metallic at the bottom of the pan LOL

Your upward attitude is addicting. Great video man... currently running amsoil xl in my raptor. 1 yr 25k is a bit too long for my taste.

On a new vehicle, instead of using the flush since it won’t have any build up, couldn’t you start with the xl for the first change then go to the signature?
You can even start using the Amsoil OE.
I usually recommend the first time they change over if they're not going to do a flush to just change the oil filter at like 5,000 miles.
That way they know the oil filter is free-flowing and they don't have to worry about having all the build-up end up in the new oil filter.
The great thing about the flushes that way once you do it you know you don't have to worry about the new oil filter because all the carbon deposits are already out.
It's just less money and less hassle to do a flush instead of changing your oil filter early

The one good thing about that plastic drain plug is it drains fast.......lol
When was this raptor made, ford switched back to metal oil pan in May of 2018 with metal oil plug

2018 ford raptor and a 2012 fj cruiser. They switched back because of leaking oil pan gaskets

All of the Amsoil motor oils that are recommended for that vehicle all have the lspi specification
Where exactly does the oil from removing the filter drain to? Into a pan in the engine bay or a pan on the ground? Thank you!
It hits a pan that's on the frame of the engine and it'll go all over the place

Amsoiln EAO11 is a better filter , capacity wise adds half a quart and has more filter media inside....
Some cars take the EAO Amsoil filters and some take the regular smaller size and they are good for 15000 miles and then the eao filters are good for up to 25,000 miles just depends on which one that particular vehicle takes☕🇺🇲

The best way to find the products is to use my preferred customer link that's in my PIN to comment and then what you're going to do is click on vehicle look up and then you'll enter the year make model and engine size you'll see the motor oil to filter the transmission fluid the rear differential fluid the brake fluid the power steering fluid in the radiator coolant it'll all be stacked on all the different products and if you have any questions at all let me know and I can send you the vehicle lookup link but it's pretty easy to find it thanks for the question

Plastic drain plug on a plastic oil pan. And how much is Ford charging for the Raptor--$70,000? I would like to trade up to a Mustang GT but I would get the same plastic oil pan and plug. I don't think so.

@@Thamac15 I did trade up to a 2020 Mustang GT, Smartie. I plan to have my fun with it for 5 years, then sell it and let the next guy worry about it. FYI, Ford went back to the metal pan in 2021 for their Mustangs. So I guess the plastic idea wasn't so hot.

I tell you what though I do like that big drain plug is nice because the oil comes out quick on the Ford F-150 💯💯☕
@@Syntheticoilprotection I swapped it out with the Ronin drain plug. It gives you a more controlled drain flow and there's no o-rings or plastic plug replacements to worry about.
@@AStanton1966 I have a 2020 raptor. Aluminum oil pan, standard bolt for the drain plug.
It is a freaking mess, at least for the first oil change. I found it’s just way easier to take off the skid plates and then change the oil. No mess. You can spend a half an hour cleaning up all the oil, or spend 10 minutes pulling the skid plates and putting them back on. Far easier.
Plastic?! No way.
