    Not enjoying the weird noise your model 3 makes when driving at slow speeds, but looking for a reversible solution, in case Elon delivers some more interesting sounds?
    The PWS speaker is in a somewhat exposed area, and is subjected to dust, water and anything else that gets kicked up off the road while you're driving. This kit ensures that when disconnected, both the supply cable and the socket are completely, and professionally, protected from the elements until you're ready to plug it back in, either for resale, or a cool new sound that comes out. Disconnecting the speaker generates no errors.

    @1:03 that grommet is not needed to pop out. I just did this yesterday and the ones on the edge are all you need to pop out.

    Bit late to the party here, but I was wondering if I’ve just done something wrong. The sound isolation works but I was under the impression that it would also disable the error message in the car. Is there something I need to fix on my end or does it not actually help with the error message

    This works on the 2022 Model X Plaid and there is an access door on the front driver side tire cowling. There is only ONE push pin to open it and there is plenty of room to maneuver.

    I have a brand new 2020 model x no pws though

  • @Legomax18

    Any idea how to access it on the 2021+ Model S Plaid? I found three of those pins on the front driver’s wheel well, on the front facing side. Pulled them, but I couldn’t see anything relevant. It’s just a big empty space.

    Is it illegal to remove this on your car? What is Abstract Ocean's stance on removing it?

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean  4 года назад +1

      No, it's not illegal. It's not a requirement (state, or federal) to have the systems yet, and when it does become required, the onus is on the manufacturer, not the owner. Of course things might change, but that's the current stance. MSo far it's only Model 3's that have shipped with them, Model Y does not have it fitted (yet).

    Does this kill the boom box entirely, like no more funny horn sounds?

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean  2 года назад

      Yes, it will, since the Boombox uses the same speaker.

    Is this kit still applicable for 2022 model Y? Read they may be doing the super horn, whatever that means

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean  2 года назад

      As far as we know. The super horn is likely just a higher fidelity horn that doubles as a horn and anti-theft siren. Either way, right now that only appears to be on the MIC cars heading to Europe.

    Let's say you disable the pedestrian warning system and in a bad luck you hurt a pedestrian. Aren't you worried that you could be sued into oblivion?

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean  3 года назад

      In the US at least, that's a risk with or without a PWS. We're not lawyers of course, but there's no state or federal requirement to have a PWS, and the current majority of Tesla's do not have it installed, it's only in the past few weeks that Model Y's have started to ship with it installed.

    Are these instructions the same for the new Model S Raven?

    • @AbstractOcean
      @AbstractOcean  4 года назад +1

      I believe so Mike, but so far we've no experience of the PWS on an S or X. The actual speaker and fittings will be the same, but the wheel liner clips might and/or speaker location might be slightly different.
