This movie is so underrated. I love all the twisted parallels to the original, the villain is great, and I appreciate them going for a more dramatic tone. I consider this a near perfect conclusion to the franchise.
Notice the parallel between this one and the 2nd movie when Shrek arrives to Far Far Away, in the 2nd one everybody is welcoming of him and his wife Fiona but in the 4th one when he arrives he’s alone and greeted in a pretty harsh manner with everybody hating him for being an Ogre
The Shrek franchise is one of my childhood favourite franchises. Puss In Boots (2011) actually takes place before he meets Shrek. While Puss In Boots: The Last Wish takes place after Forever After. I suggest you react to Trolls and Trolls World Tour, starring Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick.
24:23 Hearing you phrase it like that makes me wonder...do you think the wolf would have come for Shrek as well for living an unfulfilling life had he not met Fiona, Donkey, and the others and just stayed as the recluse that he was at the start of the first movie? Wonder how THAT alternate timeline would play out...

"I got the chance to fall in love with you all over again" that line always gets me 🥺

This sequel was neat and at times underrated, I like how there’s a parallel between this movie and the first one with the alternate outcome thing
At least Shrek got his happily ever after again
when i was young this villain was my worst nightmare
Was it due to his magic?
