Thank you, as always. You're are a fantastic teacher and an inspiration. I tell everyone, whenever a guitar conversation arises, about how awesome your channel is and that if they use it they should go to Patreon and shell out a few duckets. Please sir, keep up the fantastic work your doing.

Same here. I picked up new strings for both of my guitars 🎸 today.
As I was playing around I thought of this tuning. 👍

I bought a used classical guitar just for this tuning. Thanks so much ... going to work on Sultans, one of my favorite songs that I thought would be out of reach for years.

I was getting really frustrated with my guitar playing because I kept learning new stuff but it was never the sound I wanted. Within a few minutes of playing with this tuning and I feel like Ive just improved 10 fold. Its hard to explain but its just easier to noodle around and sound really really good with this tuning so try it now! Thanks bro keep em coming!

I discovered open Dm a while ago, that's an amazing tuning and I suggest you to go and check some of Skip James's songs, he used it a lot. Hard Time Killing Floor Blues is an absolute masterpiece and it's in open Dm.

Sorry. I repeated your comment before I saw you had posted..Great player. Cypress Grove..Back in the 1960,s, before S Grossman and all the tutors we now have, it took me ages to work out what tuning SJ was using. Repeated listening to old scratchy records was how I & many others learnt back then. Same with most other country bluesmen.

Interesting tuning. I never heard of this tuning before, but it sounds great. What did you mean when u said: "I consider Drop D a better tuning than the standard tuning cause D is the natural scale for the guitar" ? Can u make a video and elaborate on that?

Picked up guitar 7 months ago. I decided to learn slide guitar instead of standard tuning. Ive been in open d and open dm. This is great. Will u show how to implement a slide? Ive been pretty much doing my own thing. My guitar teacher frusterated with me because i dont want to learn “traditional” guitar. Lame. I figure im 38 just now starting guitar might as well play it how i want to play it. Been watching ur videos 1st day i started and its great encouragement to hear somebody or ur caliber endorse open tunings.

However..... i picked up a slide and havnt looked back. Can you please show some bad ass finger picking patterns for this tuning. Ive never once used a pick. Ive watched ALOT of ur videos and u are by far the best. Ur great. Thanks alot for all u do!! Show some slide work too would ya? Standard is not my thing!!

You’re right, Standard tuning forces you to play fixed things, but so does any tuning, including Em. Standard tuning is limited of course, but gives you more options, which is why it was developed

Harmonics/intonation are simply a reflection of the quality of the guitar ur playing. The tuning ur presenting is kinda a downer.
Would u and could u play a progression that’s upbeat, inspiring and drivin from the core of ur being, everything god giving senses that pore out ur soul in this tuning? Go on, give us ur heart from this tuning since u posted it.
    From James Pass-No Relation.
