I grew up as a metal head. Now, it's still metal, english music from any era and the 7 members of BTS. The thought and detail that BTS puts into their music is top tear. It was a conversation from Rapper, Coolio that talked to the about details and they took it to heart. Where I saw the most influence by BTS was at this year's GRAMMYS. Every year the performance have be so milk toast or just plain blah. With BTS coming in with these amazing performances, it make other acts step up their game. Every member bring something special to the group. I still get my electric guitars in songs like BTS live performances of Dionysus at 2019 MMA. Also, I'm so impressed with how BTS are a great as the professional dancers that are on stage with them. I don't know if you realize it but Ian Eastwood & Brian Puspos are 2 of the dancers on stage with Jungkook. They are considered 2 of the greatest dancers in the world right now.

Funny enough I don't remember Jungkook ever saying he is MJ fan. He definitely did not say a single time during his solo promotion he was inspired by MJ. I'm not saying it doesn't have MJ vibe. It does. My point is only fans said MJ name. Jungkook never did.
He may not have said it in words, but he has imitated him many times over the years. He is an obvious influence. He has many times done the tip toe stuff. And he and Jimin have done MJ dances.
He never needed to explicitly say that he is a fan of Michael, because that is very clear, just like all the other members of BTS, who have already made many references to MJ, Jungkook even sang Billie Jean once, J-Hope and Jimin have already they talked about their favorite songs in an interview, so they don't need to say clearly that they are fans because they always make it very obvious.
I'm not sure if Jungkook has ever stated that, but the choreography of this song clearly includes Michael Jackson's signature moves. It's unthinkable that Jungkook wasn't aware they were Michael Jackson's moves. It's as if he has spoken without speaking. Of course, he isn't merely a common imitator influenced by Michael Jackson. I believe he has masterfully blended his own vibe with the moves, ensuring that he doesn't merely linger in Michael's shadow but instead completely owns the song in his own right : )
If you are into k-rock, I recommend checking out the songs “Smoke Sprite” by So Yoongi and RM and “Don’t Ever Say Love Me” by Colde and RM. Both are a cool mix of alt rock and hip hop. RM from BTS has collaborated with a lot of cool alternative rock and alternative hip hop artists.
Since you mentioned J-rock....You must react to Babymetal. Its a combo of metal, cute, world class musicians and three amazing young girls (with choreography and the amazing singer Su Metal) that have become a force in Heavy Metal. Skip their earliest stuff (they were very young) and go to a track like Road of Resistance (written by two members of Dragonforce), Tales of the Destinies (their ode to Dream Theater), Karate (nu metal with elements of metalcore), Metal Kingdom, BxMxC (trap metal) and a number of others. The mvs are also great.
