Slight correction on the pronunciation of JK's name. Correctly pronounced, it sounds more like "gook" with a softer sound than we English speakers pronounce the "hard g" sound. Also, "Jungkook" is fluid between syllables, as opposed to being two separate words (even though stylistically, Jung Kook has chosen to separate his two names in print). So, his entire name (without his last name) is pronounced like "chungook" where the "ch" is softer and you pronounce both the "ng" and "g"...and the "k" is sort of bit off at the end.

Yup. 57 years old here, I've seen MJ as well as his sister in concert, Journey, Styx, Paul Simon, Elton John/Billy Joel, James Taylor, Starship, ZZ Top, The Cars, Mellencamp, Bryan Adams, and a host of other solo artists and groups - over 100 concerts, I think. BTS is absolutely top tier.

This is the title track off of Jung Kook’s debut album. It is his song. JK is the youngest member of BTS and the main vocalist. He left home at age 13 to become a trainee and they debuted when he was 15. He is not fluent in English so it always impresses me how he sings in English. His entire album is English. There is a remix version of this song with USHER, one of JK’s biggest influences. You really need to hear him live. IHeart is the best vocals imo and there is a live band. Also, Audacy radio live. All seven members of BTS are extremely talented and have put out solo work.

Hi! I'm 68 too, and love BTS as well as each member in the group. My musical taste ran (still does) along the lines of the poster on your wall, but one day accidentally discovered BTS. They are fantastic! (They actually have beaten some Beatles records). I don't like other k-pop, I think they are copycats and will never surpass BTS. I hope you will explore a lot more! Thank you for your open mind - they certainly opened mine! As for this song, Jungkook has 9 years experience as lead (center) singer with BTS - since he was about 14. He's 26 now. Being that young, he adores Michael Jackson and has this tribute, but he's an incredible singer and dancer with BTS too. My favorite song of his is Euphoria (live at Wembley), so fun.

Some good introductions to the whole group are KBS Music Bank performance of "Yet to Come" and "For Youth" (both mixed English and Korean); big production songs like "ON: Kinetic Manifesto" and "IDOL"; soulful live performances by the 4 main vocalists (the vocal line) - "The truth Untold" and "House of Cards"; fiery performances by the 3 rappers - "Cypher Pt 3", "Outro: Tear" and "UGH!"; straight ahead power songs - "Fire", "Not Today"; quirky genre- benders - "Am I Wrong", "Go Go"(YOLO), "Anpanman", "Airplane Pt 2"; art finally, high value video art pieces - "Black Swan", "Fake Love" and "Blood, Sweat and Tears". These still do not fully represent the range of expression and thoughtful content BTS has amassed over 11 years of intense work, but would give a new person a broader sense of their music and who they are. Some Armys will lament the absence of "Mic Drop" from this list, but IMHO it is more impactful and meaningful when you know more about the group and their history, so I would save it for a bit. Final recs for a newbie: we BTS fans love to watch full videos with you, so it helps to have the video screen fairly large; also we will stay with you through more than one version of a song in one reaction (such as Official MV, Choreo/Dance Practice, and live performance) or several songs in one reaction. Personally I would not recommend so-called "lyric videos", which typically are color-coded lyrics that have been generated quickly after a song is released and seem to be not as well translated as other sources. 59 year old BTS fan here. BTS fans are called ARMY, btw. It’s confusing, now especially they’re all serving their required service in South Korea. Love your reaction. JK is a wildly talented performer with some rare vocal skills. This song really showcases them, and his killer dance moves, as you could see. His fellow dancers in this MV are considered the very best in the business. When he asked them, they all came running, because they know what a great talent he is, and also that, like all the members, he is a perfect gentleman. A point of pride for JKand all the members is that you will never regret being their fan. None of the crap you often get with a lot of other performers in...other places.😉 I grew up in SE Pennsylvania, so I love the WVU hat. A niece of mine graduated from there. If you want to see a showcase of all the members doing their best, they did a live 10-minute medley video in 2021, called BTS Festa Room 2021. Each June they’d put out special content to celebrate their start in June 2013. BTS, in a word, is special. I can honestly say they have improved my quality of life, and I will be forever grateful to them for that. Enjoy this journey.💜

Jungkook is the youngest member of the group BTS, 3rappers 4 all star vocalists. Cover a wide genre range as all 7 members have very different solo musical tastes. They have been together for about 12 years since the youngest 3 were still at school. They are all doing their national service in the army. All put solo work out when they cannot perform together. People say they have split up that is false. They have always had solo work. They do not need to break up.
All 7 members of BTS just completed solo albums then went into the military. Jin went first and only did a single song with Coldplay. He'll be back in June and hopefully will do his solo album. Jungkook finished his album last and this is the title track.
Jungkook is from then7 member group bts they are massive around the world and their music is powerful and has meaning to them as well. They all have solo projects and now there all in the korean military its mandatory for all men in korea to do that. Yep, just a homage to him! It was confirmed by his label. BTS loves to pay homage to a lot of artists that have inspired them. :) They did a rendition of "Born Sinner" by J. Cole and named it "Born Singer"...and their Proof Live 2022 Verizon of Born Singer is one of my fav.

63-yr-old BTS ARMY. Born in 1960's, I've seen all the greats. BTS ranks right up here. Fabulous performers. Not a cover -just a homage to MK. Jungkook started training when he was 13. Basically spent his whole life singing, dancing, writing and working his ass off. Mad respect.
Yup. 57 years old here, I've seen MJ as well as his sister in concert, Journey, Styx, Paul Simon, Elton John/Billy Joel, James Taylor, Starship, ZZ Top, The Cars, Mellencamp, Bryan Adams, and a host of other solo artists and groups - over 100 concerts, I think. BTS is absolutely top tier.

As for this song, Jungkook has 9 years experience as lead (center) singer with BTS - since he was about 14. He's 26 now. Being that young, he adores Michael Jackson and has this tribute, but he's an incredible singer and dancer with BTS too. My favorite song of his is Euphoria (live at Wembley), so fun.

Some good introductions to the whole group are KBS Music Bank performance of "Yet to Come" and "For Youth" (both mixed English and Korean); big production songs like "ON: Kinetic Manifesto" and "IDOL"; soulful live performances by the 4 main vocalists (the vocal line) - "The truth Untold" and "House of Cards"; fiery performances by the 3 rappers - "Cypher Pt 3", "Outro: Tear" and "UGH!"; straight ahead power songs - "Fire", "Not Today"; quirky genre- benders - "Am I Wrong", "Go Go"(YOLO), "Anpanman", "Airplane Pt 2"; art finally, high value video art pieces - "Black Swan", "Fake Love" and "Blood, Sweat and Tears". These still do not fully represent the range of expression and thoughtful content BTS has amassed over 11 years of intense work, but would give a new person a broader sense of their music and who they are. Some Armys will lament the absence of "Mic Drop" from this list, but IMHO it is more impactful and meaningful when you know more about the group and their history, so I would save it for a bit.
Final recs for a newbie: we BTS fans love to watch full videos with you, so it helps to have the video screen fairly large; also we will stay with you through more than one version of a song in one reaction (such as Official MV, Choreo/Dance Practice, and live performance) or several songs in one reaction. Personally I would not recommend so-called "lyric videos", which typically are color-coded lyrics that have been generated quickly after a song is released and seem to be not as well translated as other sources. One of my favorite sources for well-researched subtitles is EnjoyBTSMore channel, as well as BangtanTV and Hybe Labels.

BTS’s discography is vast and covers many genres so if you let ARMY know what type of music you like, we can make some suggestions. Love your reaction. JK is a wildly talented performer with some rare vocal skills. This song really showcases them, and his killer dance moves, as you could see. His fellow dancers in this MV are considered the very best in the business. When he asked them, they all came running, because they know what a great talent he is, and also that, like all the members, he is a perfect gentleman. A point of pride for JKand all the members is that you will never regret being their fan. None of the crap you often get with a lot of other performers in...other places.😉

If you want to see a showcase of all the members doing their best, they did a live 10-minute medley video in 2021, called BTS Festa Room 2021. Each June they’d put out special content to celebrate their start in June 2013. BTS, in a word, is special. I can honestly say they have improved my quality of life, and I will be forever grateful to them for that.

BTS is made up of 7 members who currently are all serving mandatory militarily service at the moment. The group will be back together in 2025 since all members would have completed their service by then.

Jungkook joined BTS at the age of 13 and was basically raised by his brothers (BTS members refer to themselves as brothers and not just band members. They all have solo projects and now there all in the korean military its mandatory for all men in korea to do that.
