Just got this. I upped the sound to "High" & lowered the Noise canceling to "weak" for iPhone use. I think those are the cleanest settings. I'm ok with "Medium" for sound, but I like it to be a bit louder. For whatever reason, on iPhones external audio is always a bit lower in volume. I think the "Strong" noise reduction is a bit tinny, but may be necessary in a really loud environment. I think the "weak" noise canceling doesn't impact audio quality & helps with background hum or static. The app makes switching settings a snap.
I had the big brother Lark Max - but I also got this one to fill specific situations where it is perfect and can perform magnificently when the big brother was not a good choice. It is a wonderful tool to have in your bag on a field assignment. What I really love it that Hollyland mics sound wonderful compared to other brands. There is no loss in audio quality with this mic. Thanks for the video. No apologizing for this mic - it more than fills a niche and sounds great doing it.

Really impressive these tiny mics! Soundquality is really really good👌🏻In my opinion noise cancelling mode gets your audio a little bit more flat but for this situation at CES with many people & noise around its nice to have this option. I hope they release a single package of this tiny mic. I dont need two transmitters as a solo creator. Two transmitters you need for professional audio situations like client interviews and for this I would also use the dji mic. Thanks a lot for this really cool & well explained review!👍🏻
This is really cool. Small and simple. Easy to bring for travelling. I was thinking to get a good mic and your video just came up at the right time. Thanks a lot! Great video btw.
Hello Aldryn, the Hollyland Lark M2 wireless mic setup is looks to be an excellent affordable unit. Their new setup is affordable and recording is quite good for its size. Not only can use use the unit for a camera or phone, but it looks like you could also use it for audio transmission on the DJI RC2 controller for livestream audio. One very impressive and affordable package! Thank you for your onsite testing🙏.
I really like how you did the testing without us knowing where you was at first it gives us time to focus on the audio instead of the video. Great review of the realistic real world test.💯
I was impressed with the small size and ease of use of this new mic. And it even has an affordable starting price. Great testing and review, thanks for sharing.
The record time is actually 10 hours on one charge. After that you have to put the mikes into the charging case, wait 1.5 hours and then use it again. The case holds only two full charges x two TX = 40 hours. So if you use two TX and the same time you will get max 20 hours of use with 1.5 hours in between.
Great video! Very informative and super impressed on the size and the features. The only small critique I have is I wish you would have done the range test in a crowded room full of people. Doing it at the CES convention would have been great, although the distance you were showing at CES was still impressive as well. But overall great video!
Seen a lot of comparison videos recently between DJI mic 2 and Røde pro 2, but the sound quality in this video was far superior. I'm not sure if something is happening to the sound from DJI and Røde in post, but when you combine this and the prices quoted, I know where I'm spending my hard earned right now.
I own the DJI wireless mike already and very happy with it, but tempted to get this one just because of its smaller size, to use instead of the DJI when traveling. That noise canceling function seems to work OK, but in same time, the audio sounds a bit "robotic" though. In any case, great review as usual Aldryn !
So cool! For the camera do you just have to plug it in to make it work? Was there any set up before that? I just bought it and plugged it into my camera and it didn’t work.
Love your review. QUESTION: How does one adjust the gain when using a smartphone? Is it done with the app and if so, are there only three settings (LOW, MED, HIGH), or can you customize the input gain to your liking?
Thank you for the great review, with the USB C receiver, if I use it with a laptop, would I be able to control the volume/gain?, if not, then what would be the default volume/gain. If I use the app with the USB receiver attached to my Android phone, to set the volume to max, would it save the setting if I moved it to the laptop? Many thanks.
Nice video. Exceptional office demo and lighting. Too many influencers fail in this department! I have a Fulaim X5 which is very sensitive to distance from my mouth. Best 150mm but that's naff for video. 2nd best under my T shirt. How sensitive is the M2?
I will use it on the phone. Is there a mute button on the microphone or the phone receiver? What should I do if I want to prevent the sound from being cut off momentarily?
The alarm M1 is great too. Just picked up the Ulanzi AM18 and I thought it would be similar, but without a lav mic or other wired input, the transmitter itself has a TERRIBLE mic and requires so much post processing to sound borderline acceptable.
Great review. I have the DJI Mic 2 that came with my Pocket 3 but my question is: when filming with my Pocket 3, can I use both the DJI Mic 2 with the Lark M2 at the same time as in when I am recording two of us and I want the 2nd person to me mic’d up as well as me , bearing in mind the DJI does not require a receiver?
We recently got a new device and discovered a secret way to record with it. We use a camera transponder connected to the phone via USB-C. It works great and clips onto the side or fits in a pocket. However, the USB-C connection doesn't fit with my phone case on, and I dislike having to remove the case because I'm worried about dropping the phone.
Yeah, that is a great Mike I’m shocked but the price is almost shocking as well. It’s right up there with the DJI and I would go with the DJI although your microphone on this unit you’re showing now is super and great the price is the killer at least for me buddy thank you for doing great. Super exceptional job I even subscribed. Thanks again.
Looks great- only worried by lack of onboard recording AND the receivers merge left and right channels over USB and Lightning- so there no way to separate the two mic channels afterwards. (The 3.5mm out on the camera receiver does support 2 channels)
Hi, I just got this and wonder if you have tested this mic with MacBook? Or, maybe someone else have done it - will you please answer / give your feedback here? Thanks in advance. 👍
Great review Aldryn! Quick Q - do the mobile receivers fit into the combo case (where the camera receiver cleanly sits)? Want to get the combo but will mainly use the Lightning and USB C receivers, so wondering if have to carry them separately (which would be annoying)
Do the units self-discharge when not being used? If you charge up the case will it still be charged in a week when I go to use it? My older unit self discharges
Seems like it would be a great setup for someone just using for an occasional video, like myself. Would the usb c transmiter work with the dji action 3?
Is there a way to listen to/monitor the audio while recording to a camera or to the phone? Especially when using it with a camera, I don't think it's easy to tell how low or high the levels are with just those 3 leds on the receiver.

I want to get this mic system for my mobile phone gimbal, small and simple without wires hanging down.
