@@tylerprodznfl I would love to do another airport video that highlights all the firsts that Pittsburgh has been a part of in aviation history, there’s a lot! Thanks for commenting!
If you're ever in the Clarksburg West Virginia area someday down I-79,check out the new terminal being constructed at the North Central West Virginia Airport which is a hub for Allegiant to open in 2025.Much smaller than the Pittsburgh Airport but interesting to look at regardless.
I can remember my first flight when I was 16 years old back in 1974 at the old Pittsburgh International Airport which was state of the art when it was built back in 1952 and arrived to the much more modern Tampa International Airport completed in 1971 with the first shuttle trains taking you to the concourses, parking garages that made then Pittsburgh International Airport look somewhat primitive then.Back in 1974 my Eastern Airlines ticket was only $88 not taking inflation into account but I remember in my first flight that there was much more space between the seats and the flight included a full course meal plus this was during the Christmas season and it was freezing and in Pittsburgh but in the 70's in the Tampa area,a shocking but pleasurable contrast on my first flight then.
@@willbygosh4887 that is so cool! We took a tour and learned about how Pittsburgh really has been at the forefront of a lot of aviation innovation, including the first paved runway! Who knew? Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks for the informative video. We are trying to fly in the next few months and I haven’t flown in many years so trying to learn all I can. Can you tell me what is the timeframe between short term and long-term parking? Is long-term parking more than a week more than a month just curious… thanks.😊
@@kittykathy9532 thanks for commenting, we’re so glad this video has been helpful! My understanding is that long term is billed by the day whereas short term is billed by the hour, then daily. You can park as long as you need or want to, though if you’re doing an extended trip (two or more weeks) it may be worth checking out extended parking options at third party locations for cost savings. Hope this helps!
@@cxg174 the local news has been making it even worse for TSA lines unfortunately. We were there Monday with a friend and the lines were LONG at noon. Be sure to get there three hours prior to give them time to get through and to give YOU time to figure out traffic patterns since everyone is having difficulty with the changes. Good luck!!!
I'll be hitting up the airport in September I have a month trip to the Philippines planned I will vlog the whole trip I am flying out United it's the only airline right now in the United States that does direct flights to the Philippines so I will be taking from Pittsburgh to San Francisco to Manila Philippines can't wait it's going to be the first time I've ever been on a plane I was thinking on taking just a beginner flight maybe to Myrtle Beach I guess that's still on the table creeping on the 10k mark it's time to switch up the channel to more travel content
@@steelcitytv that’s incredible! You’ll have an amazing time in the Philippines and you’ll have some incredible content. Don’t forget, Latrobe has reasonable flights with Spirit Airlines to Myrtle Beach and Orlando (there’s a third Florida destination I just don’t remember what it is off the top of my head) so you could fly in and out of there to get an idea of what flight is like and not have to worry about parking fees or the stress of long TSA lines or construction. I think you’ll do just fine regardless, we had a first time flyer travel last week and she’s already planning her next trip she loved it so much!
@@thomaswelch-yx5tf thanks for commenting! Our airport is doing limited familiarization tours for individuals that may need assistance, a trial run, etc. in order to make their travel day smoother. They are never guaranteed but you can call the airport help desk and ask. Thanks for commenting!
Love my home airport! It’s a awesome airport while also giving passengers a chance to explore Pittsburgh’s rich history

@@scottboyles7418 thanks for commenting! Good luck with the construction around the airport, it’s coming along but it’s confusing!
