I have a feeling they'd ruin the technique and make it not work just to show how strong an enemy is just like the Spirit Bomb vs Jiren When in reality the Dragon Fist has literally obliterated everyone who's been hit by it in it's 4 on screen uses and XV2. It's basically a one shot move that kills people astronomically stronger than you unless you have regen. Like Base Goku punching through Super 17 who was far stronger than SSJ4 Goku at the time (18 made it so that he couldn't block or use a barrier on physical attacks but Goku still would've had to break through his beyond SSJ4 level durability. 17 doesn't have ki so it's not like you can say 'his ki was lowered so his durability dropped'. And of course SSJ4 Goku vs Omega

thats how you improve learning from others you cant do everything on your own...goku is open minded and always wanting to improve and get better...aside from the fact that hes a fighting genius .. no matter how many original techniques the other db characters have goku is still the best.. not to mention the awesome athleticism goku displays when he fights
Fun fact!: in Xenoverse 2 In The Main campaign when you're teaming up with ssgss Goku if you beat mira under 2 minutes it'll show an alternative ending where the Z fighters surround your Cac giving your cac their power letting you be able to use goku's dragon to finish off mira, instead of mira being upset of not being able to fight longer he simply smiles and thanks the player for giving him an amazing battle.

The entire dragon is just a flaming energy beam from what you see in Wrath of the Dragon, most likey Goku just coats his body in energy and the rest of the dragons body is most likely just the atmosphere burning up from the heat. it would be nice to get an actual explanation as to what is going on with that attack

i think they definitely intended the dragon fist to be related in some way to the king piccolo punch, given how they are the only times goku got violent enough to punch THROUGH someone, and in Fighterz if you play as Kid Goku, one of your moves is the king piccolo punch, but if you have lost an ally then the same move turns him into a SSJ4 and he does a dragon fist
In my personal head canon, I always looked at GT's ending as Goku being carried off to the Dragon's realm, becoming a Dragon for a set of Dragon Balls, which looks like this move.
I always thought that Dragon Fist was basically just an updated version of the Great ape fist that he used against King piccolo in Dragonball. He uses the same pose and everything. Although yes it is a different creature Ah, you covered it at the end, nice one

In Xenoverse 2 Dragon Fist= An Ultimate move that transforms into a giant golden dragon that deals massive damage. Super Dragon Fist=A Super attack that turns the users fist into a small red dragon that deals medium damage. Makes sense
When Wu Kong met the Dragon Kings of the 4 oceans, he was not nice at all. He lived near the Easter Dragon King, so Goku started there. The Dragon King was courteous and willing to give Wu Kong a gift for becoming King of the Monkeys, but Wu Kong basically bullied him to give him a worthy treasure, and it was the Magic stick (originally to hold the ocean at peace). Then Goku proceed to bully all remains Dragon Kings for treasures. The Dragons All complain the the Heaven Emperor, which send an army to capture Wu Kong...which Wu Kong kicked their asses.

Dragon Fist is definitely one of my favorite techniques in Dragon Ball from aside it looking so cool and destructive, is one of the only move Goku essentially created on his own. My explanation was that he based it off on Shenlong. *[Insert Fisting Joke Here]*
I’ve always been under the belief that using Dragon Fist doesn’t increase Goku’s power, but that it is a technique designed specifically to hurt foes that are stronger then him. I mean the only time he uses it, baring one instance, is against an opponent that is stronger then himself at that point in time.
I'd love a video not only describing the Multiform Technique, but, "TO GO EVEN FURTHER BEYOND" explanation, to some thoughts on how powerful the technique would be in Super used by certain characters like SSJB Goku and how it would scale to villains in Z. If they bring this technique back in the main series it would be cool if he could only do this technique in super sayian 3 even though he has stronger forms and he would have to power down to do this really strong technique
It's so weird that i thought about the dragon fist today and searched it up because I remember how badass it was in Gt,Db,Dbz movie her used it on Android 17 in Gt and also on piccolo when he was a kid it's called "super dragon fist' but it still counts and when he used it on one of the dragons from GT cool!!
I hate to tell you this geekdom... but as far as dragon ball techniques explained goes.. it has been done already. However with that said im still going to watch these videos, you bring a level of dedication and explanation nobody else does. So even if it was something that had been done a million times over I'd still watch it for the simple fact that YOU are the one who created it.
Wow when you said Goku turns into a literal dragon when using the Dragonfist move gave it a whole new perspective for me, I’ve never thought of it that way, I always just imagined it like this huge cannon like ki blast shooting out of his arm, the wrapping and squeezing is him manipulating the ki, and when he appears on the other side of the opponent it was kinda just him flying through the end of the attack
Also Hirudegarn also has a weakness. Intense emotions drain his energy, Goku and Gohan realized this weakness and Goku provoked the giant monster into getting angry. This strategy worked and Hirudegan launched another punch, Goku dodged and used Dragon Fist: Explode to kill the beast
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the community theories. I think the dragon fist does seem a bit similar to his fight with piccolo. I've seen the dragon fist be used without Goku transforming into the dragon the same way the image of the great ape appeared. Also it's a good reminder all sayajin are transformational-ist. It's a natural ability and arguably the first ability Goku ever used which we could all assume he is still mastering. When doesn't Goku surprise us all with a move he worked on in his spare time. When you ask where did he learn it, well that would be pretty obvious, Shenron! Don't forget Goku can learn moves and techniques just by watching. After so many time of a dragon coming forth he probably picked up on it's energy.
During the ozaru punch it wasnt just a hard punch. If you look at his hand its encased in energy implying he put his kamehameha energy into the attack. I don't think you can say there unrelated. Just visually you can tell this move was almost guaranteed the inspiration for the dragon fist if nothing else although personally im leaning towards dragon fist being a evolution of it.
11:20 I think the main reason people confuse that move with the Dragon Fist is because of Budokai 3. The name of kid Goku’s attack against King Piccolo in that game is called “Super Dragon Fist”, same as the ssj3 attack.
I always assumed they got the idea from the king piccolo arc when he punched right through him. Always thought the dragon part was metaphor while in reality he was just using all his power into the punch. Like how the dragon punch looks though.
I never thought Goku transformed into a dragon, I just thought it was the shape that his energy attack took. Kind of like a Kameha he surrounds himself with. I'll have to rewatch it.
In Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 I also remember when you would do a spirit bomb he would absorb it and do the Dragon Fist after stating "The spirit bomb's fading"
I remember playing budokai tenkaichi 2 and I tried to do a spirit bomb with ss3 goku. He did but instead of throwing it he absorbed it then he hit the dragon fist. It was amazing!
Really enjoyed the video and looking forward to future technique videos. As you pointed out in the video I have always thought of the dragon fist as an evolution of the "oozaru fist" used against King Piccolo. The effect and how Goku uses the move seem very similar to me. The dragon fist is typically a rising strike that Goku propels himself into and blows through the chest of his opponent. So I would say the two moves have more in common that being right handed punches. This is very much head cannon but given how much Goku not only grew stronger after that King Piccolo fight but also grew as a character and martial artist, I like the idea that he refined that technique into the dragon fist. Anyway again, really enjoyed the video, can't wait for the next one.
Nice video Geekdom! ✌️💯 Although I am surprised that you didn't mention that Kid Goku's ultimate move in the video game *Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3* , which is the same move he used to defeat King Piccolo in the original Dragon Ball series, is referred to as "Super Dragon Fist" despite that both an image of an Oozaru and the sound of an Oozaru's roar in the background are present during the move's execution. Personally, that was the first time that I had seen that specific move referred to as "Super Dragon Fist"....or the move even having a name in the first place... 🤷♂️ In the later video games that were released after Budokai 3, the name was changed to "Penetrate!" or something similar.....
Personally I always looked at Goku's Dragon fist explosion technique as his Pure Heart and his spirit was that of a Dragon, so it radiated til it became one with his power and was so overwhelming that even the Hildegarn couldn't take him on!
Thank goodness they dubbed from the original japanese names and music background of Dragon Ball in Brazil. Today I only watch the Japanese versions of course, but hopefully they won't do this anymore in future adaptations in the USA anymore. I always imagined that Goku’s ki took the shape of a dragon and he made the technique himself and also he does a similar technique in dragon ball when he defeated Demon King Piccolo except his visage took the form of an Oozaru instead.

Dragon Fist, the DLC move. I considered the fist and Vegito/Gogeta the DLC stuff they would bust out to keep people renting the movies and watching all the episodes. He used Kaio Ken in the movies a lot too. There were rare techniques that we knew the fighters had and craved to see them used, you'd see them in pictures and AMVs, but you'd never catch them on TV, so they seemed more mysterious. At some point I remember thinking SSJ4 was a troll/hoax someone made up because no one in the US could actually get their hands on all the GT episodes. This was pre broadband internet and it wasn't as easy to get imports from Japan.
Also, funnily enough, in an Ask Toriyama panel at the end of one of the volumes in the original DB manga, a kid asked Toriyama what he thought of a move that the child had made for Goku. In involved Goku raising his arms in the air (which I'm assuming became the Genki Dama because Toriyama really liked the move idea) and summoned a giant dragon to attack his foes. Or something along the lines. It was actually neat to see. It's in the Viz 3-in-1 books. If I find it, I'll send it on Twitter

If they eventually decided to bring this move into the main story, they could explain it soooo easily. They could just say, that this technique is just the "extension" of his Yardrat training, that took him a bit of time to develop... DBS Manga and Vegeta's training gave us so much more info on them, with the principals they teach, technique like Dragon Fist could indeed be possible ;)

It Isn't the king piccolo attack though, it's the dragon fist he used on Super 17
The one he used on King Piccolo and Super 17 is actually the oozaru fist, it only became the dragon fist at Ice Shenron.

The only original move Goku has and it is technically "non-canon". What a bummer. The Dragon Fist is one of my favorite moves in all of Dragon Ball.
What about the landmines he did when he fought jiren. Heck what about the attack he used to force Jeice and Burter away, or the Godbind he used on DBS Broly, its not like he was taught those.
@@ultraomenmurat9937 That's like using regular ki blasts and calling it 'your own technique'. Energy bombs, Kiai's and Ki paralysis aren't new or unique techniques. And remember Goku can learn moves after seeing them once

It's so weird that i thought about the dragon fist today and searched it up because I remember how badass it was in Gt,Db,Dbz movie her used it on Android 17 in Gt and also on piccolo when he was a kid it's called "super dragon fist' but it still counts and when he used it on one of the dragons from GT cool!!

Dragons have always been my favorite creatures besides Saiyans. And Dragon Fist made my day and became my favorite technique in the Dragon Ball world

I hate to tell you this geekdom... but as far as dragon ball techniques explained goes.. it has been done already. However with that said im still going to watch these videos, you bring a level of dedication and explanation nobody else does. So even if it was something that had been done a million times over I'd still watch it for the simple fact that YOU are the one who created it.
Wow when you said Goku turns into a literal dragon when using the Dragonfist move gave it a whole new perspective for me, I’ve never thought of it that way, I always just imagined it like this huge cannon like ki blast shooting out of his arm, the wrapping and squeezing is him manipulating the ki, and when he appears on the other side of the opponent it was kinda just him flying through the end of the attack
I laugh at calling it a quite because it's like we're going to be able to perform these ourselves. Good video man subscribed.
Also Hirudegarn also has a weakness. Intense emotions drain his energy, Goku and Gohan realized this weakness and Goku provoked the giant monster into getting angry. This strategy worked and Hirudegan launched another punch, Goku dodged and used Dragon Fist: Explode to kill the beast
Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the community theories. I think the dragon fist does seem a bit similar to his fight with piccolo. I've seen the dragon fist be used without Goku transforming into the dragon the same way the image of the great ape appeared. Also it's a good reminder all sayajin are transformational-ist. It's a natural ability and arguably the first ability Goku ever used which we could all assume he is still mastering. When doesn't Goku surprise us all with a move he worked on in his spare time. When you ask where did he learn it, well that would be pretty obvious, Shenron! Don't forget Goku can learn moves and techniques just by watching. After so many time of a dragon coming forth he probably picked up on it's energy.

During the ozaru punch it wasnt just a hard punch. If you look at his hand its encased in energy implying he put his kamehameha energy into the attack.
I don't think you can say there unrelated. Just visually you can tell this move was almost guaranteed the inspiration for the dragon fist if nothing else although personally im leaning towards dragon fist being a evolution of it.
11:20 I think the main reason people confuse that move with the Dragon Fist is because of Budokai 3. The name of kid Goku’s attack against King Piccolo in that game is called “Super Dragon Fist”, same as the ssj3 attack.

I always assumed they got the idea from the king piccolo arc when he punched right through him. Always thought the dragon part was metaphor while in reality he was just using all his power into the punch. Like how the dragon punch looks though.
I never thought Goku transformed into a dragon, I just thought it was the shape that his energy attack took. Kind of like a Kameha he surrounds himself with. I'll have to rewatch it.
In Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 I also remember when you would do a spirit bomb he would absorb it and do the Dragon Fist after stating "The spirit bomb's fading"
I remember playing budokai tenkaichi 2 and I tried to do a spirit bomb with ss3 goku. He did but instead of throwing it he absorbed it then he hit the dragon fist. It was amazing!

People probably got kid Goku's move on king piccolo being dragon fist from the old Budokai 3 DBZ game. It was named dragon fist in that game iirc

As you pointed out in the video I have always thought of the dragon fist as an evolution of the "oozaru fist" used against King Piccolo. The effect and how Goku uses the move seem very similar to me. The dragon fist is typically a rising strike that Goku propels himself into and blows through the chest of his opponent. So I would say the two moves have more in common that being right handed punches. This is very much head cannon but given how much Goku not only grew stronger after that King Piccolo fight but also grew as a character and martial artist, I like the idea that he refined that technique into the dragon fist. Anyway again, really enjoyed the video, can't wait for the next one.
Nice video Geekdom! ✌️💯 Although I am surprised that you didn't mention that Kid Goku's ultimate move in the video game *Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3* , which is the same move he used to defeat King Piccolo in the original Dragon Ball series, is referred to as "Super Dragon Fist" despite that both an image of an Oozaru and the sound of an Oozaru's roar in the background are present during the move's execution.
Personally, that was the first time that I had seen that specific move referred to as "Super Dragon Fist"....or the move even having a name in the first place... 🤷♂️ In the later video games that were released after Budokai 3, the name was changed to "Penetrate!" or something similar.....

Personally I always looked at Goku's Dragon fist explosion technique as his Pure Heart and his spirit was that of a Dragon, so it radiated til it became one with his power and was so overwhelming that even the Hildegarn couldn't take him on!
Geekdom could you do a video on the end of dragon ball gt and maybe talk about theories on what happened, that would be real cool.

Thank goodness they dubbed from the original japanese names and music background of Dragon Ball in Brazil. Today I only watch the Japanese versions of course, but hopefully they won't do this anymore in future adaptations in the USA anymore. This was a very dope move i remember hearing in the 90’s the grand kai taught him that move.
I always imagined that Goku’s ki took the shape of a dragon and he made the technique himself and also he does a similar technique in dragon ball when he defeated Demon King Piccolo except his visage took the form of an Oozaru instead.

Dragon Fist, the DLC move. I considered the fist and Vegito/Gogeta the DLC stuff they would bust out to keep people renting the movies and watching all the episodes. He used Kaio Ken in the movies a lot too. There were rare techniques that we knew the fighters had and craved to see them used, you'd see them in pictures and AMVs, but you'd never catch them on TV, so they seemed more mysterious. At some point I remember thinking SSJ4 was a troll/hoax someone made up because no one in the US could actually get their hands on all the GT episodes. This was pre broadband internet and it wasn't as easy to get imports from Japan.

Also, funnily enough, in an Ask Toriyama panel at the end of one of the volumes in the original DB manga, a kid asked Toriyama what he thought of a move that the child had made for Goku. In involved Goku raising his arms in the air (which I'm assuming became the Genki Dama because Toriyama really liked the move idea) and summoned a giant dragon to attack his foes. Or something along the lines. It was actually neat to see. It's in the Viz 3-in-1 books. If I find it, I'll send it on Twitter

If they eventually decided to bring this move into the main story, they could explain it soooo easily. They could just say, that this technique is just the "extension" of his Yardrat training, that took him a bit of time to develop... DBS Manga and Vegeta's training gave us so much more info on them, with the principals they teach, technique like Dragon Fist could indeed be possible ;)
