Nah dude this film is awesome LMAO, there's so much here infinitely better than Evolution it's insane even as a cheap little bootleg film. The casting, the outfits, the locations and sets... down to it even using Toriyama's inspiration for Dragon Ball as an inspiration for it's action sequences (old chinese Kung-Fu films). Only thing I don't like is the dubbing and Puar being a bird lol
I watched all dragon dragon Ball live action movies and fan madem videos back then I could find as kid. I actually liked Dragon Ball evolution and didn't realise there was so much hate surrounding it due to all the changes which weren't all bad imo for live action as original source material is crazy in itself to be adapted perfectly for live action. I also somehow found and watched this movie and it was weird but enjoyable and fell in so bad that it was good territory for me.
I still give this a pass based on how old and absurd it is. Like this knows what it is and what it had to work with. Compared to whatever studio that made Evolution had probably a much bigger budget and source material to draw from. They could've probably hired Akira to actually consult for the movie. (I looked it up apparently some sources say he did, which I think is a straight lie he would've never looked at Evolution and went this seems good. Other sources saying he barely had any involvement which I actually do believe.) Evolution is and was embarrassing even compared to this, so I would say no you're wrong Evolution is still the worse movie. Given it had the budget and all the power to make it great more so than this film probably ever imagined and still made hot garbage. This was at least entertaining even if weird, Evolution had almost nothing redeemable. Other than a few of the character casting were done by decent actors like Chow Yun-fat as Master Roshi along with Chi-Chi, Grandpa Gohan, and Yamcha's actors or like James Marsters being King Piccolo. But I don't think a live action DBZ will ever happen the correct way to be good. You might as well make manga-grade realistic animated movies that cover major arcs with that money and pay for good VAs.
