I’ve just shared this video onto my local MAG page and both of the Cumbrian PCC candidates have made the MAG Fight Motorcycle Theft Pledge too.

Q: What can the Police do about Motorbike theft and further still, any vehicle theft ?
    Think about it before replying.

Please can you explain why I should vote for anyone when I have proof that the politicians have & will just do the opposite of what they promised in the run up to the election & regardless of what people vote the same person gets elected. Because he is in a safe position.

If you don’t vote then you don’t count and therefore have no legitimate right to complain. That’s what convinced me to take this seriously. That X is all we’ve got. Democracy is the worst form of Government - apart from all the others.

If people can't be bothered to go to the polling station, for whatever reason, they could get signed up for a postal ballot. I have been using the postal ballot system for years, it's easy and very convenient.

Unfortunately we've got khan in London, he's against all forms of personal motor transport and the demography of london ensures he'll very likely be re-elected, his approach to all crime, including bike theft, is non existent. Add the new 20mph speed limits, it's not worth motorcycling in London any longer.

Very true, if one can't be bothered to vote then there is no ponit complaining
about the result of the election, please have your say.

Not voting isn't accepting your bike being stolen or anything else for that matter. We have laws in this country and the expectation is that they be enforced and that we be protected. Because that's what we're paying for.
Whether we vote or not we have every right to complain.

Most police and crime commisioners are about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike and nobody would notice if they didn't exist.
The expectation is that regardless of who is voted in that the law be enforced. Bike theft, like most insured losses, is low priority for police forces as it's easier for them to just issue a crime reference number and wash their hands of it. I've heard of the police letting perps off despite clear video evidence. They don't want to know. The jails are full and when the little scrotes get caught they sob story the liberal judge about what a terrible upbringing they had and get let off every time.
If you've spent thousands on a bike then spend a bit extra and get a tracker installed.

Correct. In my constituency there is only one PCC candidate who pretty much said what you’ve just said, albeit in his own style😉. His campaign statement states as much and he said if elected he would not take the salary, would liaise with the police chief as the role requires, but would lobby and work to abolish PCC and have public representation returned to a cross-party committee - maybe it could be called The Police Authority??? My point here is that I wouldn’t have known that had I not got interested and sought out the candidates. The several millions PCC’s cost the public do not put extra police where they are needed, but PCC’s costs if redirected could; neither does the Government grants or local taxation, but at least the money we’ve wasted on PCC’s and their political fingers on policing will stop flowing down that particular drain.

Better to have one who's been badgered about motorcycle theft, and has said they'll do something about it, than one who hasn't. Apathy is how *they* win.

@@hvop3734 "Neither"? Are there really only two where you are? There are four on my ballot, one is a MC rider, he said he'd support the pledge. Don't just vote for one of the big two, vote for a minority that offers to do what you want, the big two don't like seeing their majorities dwindle, it makes them sit up and take notice, *then* we can get them to listen. Apathy will get nothing but what the big two want, not what *you* want.
