The correct amount of buttons on a steering wheel is definitely more than zero but less than most manufacturers put on nowadays. Cruise control and stereo volume control really need to be on the wheel.
I’m sure not too many will notice or care, but I’d like to suggest the Ethernet data infrastructure is taking place of a previously CAN-based network, which is a more common and arguably legacy physical standard (for those informed, I’m a daily user of the more modern CANFD). The acronym LAN is often associated with Ethernet-based networks, and probably not the network McLaren moved from. Loved the review, though!

Ermmm, I think someone is confusing their LAN (Local Area Network, commonly Ethernet) and their CAN (Controller Area Network, a standard for vehicles). Impressively, McLaren have switched from CAN (the defacto vehicle standard) to Ethernet (which is arguably, a LAN). Hope that’s clear 😉
well, technically there is a new standard called Automotive Ethernet (BroadR Reach) which is supposed to be the successor of the CAN Bus and offers much higher bandwidth among other things. But I doubt it is meant in this case anyway :)

yes. It is ridiculous how hard the media knocked it. I've only seen two in the wild, but both times the presence of the car was palpable. one was white, the other was the Nouvelle blue, and boy that blue was something else.
I’ve owned a 2019 570S Track Pack for 8,000 problem free miles before I sold it for a Huracan and I must say, I think I’ll be giving this a try! Beautiful!

As always, an awesome job Mr. JWW. I purchased the 2018 NSX you see pictured left for many reasons. One key reason was reliability. Two Canadian winters as a daily driver without a single issue....we're talking -30C and below with Pirelli Sottozero 3 tires......I had considered McLaren but no AWD....gotta have it in Canada if you want to play with your toy year round...and I do. The Artura is beautiful, but reliable? Only time will tell. So far McLaren has soiled it's name in this department. I hope for their sake, and their owners sake, they've picked up their game. Honda/Acura? Bulletproof. Period.
I love everything about this car but the V6. If they can extract a good exhaust note, that will be awesome. But I won't be holding my breath. I'm hoping synthetic fuels save us from a sterile EV only future.
Indeed and yet they improved on their older design language it's unmistakably a McLaren with all its curves but it's so sharp and crisp. I'm also glad the front is able to fit a license plate properly. Truly a beautiful car.

Also the proportions are not even close. You really need to look more into what makes a car design what it is xD
Subtle beautiful design, elegant and not too shouty. I like it. It will let its performance do the talking. If McLaren can get over their customer service and reliability issue then this could be the sign of a new era in McLaren design and success.
How does this channel still not have several million subscribers.??? Even years ago content was top notch and if you’re a true petrolhead (yes I’m an American((Texan)) and use petrolhead) it doesn’t get much better than this outside of the old Top Gear.
Brilliant move from McLaren. The move to EV is happening so quickly and getting into the game early will help them debug and troubleshoot the tech. Practicality and speed go hand in hand for many buyers and they nailed that with this car.

Excellent review. Very much like the smoother lines, warranty step up, but big question for me is how will it sound? V8->V6 twin turbo + hybrid/ energy recovery system + 2021 particulate filters - prospects not good, so really hope McL have done their utmost to address this. Some serious mid-engined V6 hybrid coming down the track; MC20, AM Vanquish, competition is going to be fierce..
I think this looks great! I've always liked Mclaren but from what I've read they're not very reliable. I did watch a STG video on the 720s and Sam said Mclaren is trying to fix those reliability issues so hopefully this new Artura actually is built better. Time will tell I guess. Great video!
Very high-tech car should be very precise And sharp not only with locks but also engineering and build quality I’ll be honest I don’t really like the way it looks and that’s my opinion but I’ll definitely give credit that they’ve come along way and they are proving themselves very well in the market
2 points: 1) the Bluetooth Low Energy key thing is particularly interesting because your phone could serve as a key with a simple app 2) I think you mean CAN when talking about the previous cars' electronics systems? It sounds like you're saying LAN, but that would just be "Local Area Network" which is a very general term that wouldn't particularly make sense in the context of a car. CAN is the "Controller Area Network" bus specification that ran pretty much every car's electronics for decades. Good to see McLaren making the switch to Automotive Ethernet though, there's no reason supercars at this level should be running on functionally outdated tech.
The back of this car is so clean, it also looks like it could be the front of another futuristic car or some type of terminator cross over. As Manny would say 'Very Nice" . 😯😎

Acura and Chevy have proven it's not easy to design a mid-engine car that really stands out - I think this one proportionally looks brilliant and distinctive in the crowd. More aggressive and pleasing on the eye than the outgoing 570 - apart from the 600LT, always felt like the 570 was the "Boxster" Mclaren, which wasnt a great attribute at $200k+

It’s a good transition into the next era of car from McLaren without completely departing from the old design language so it’s still recognizable! I love everything about it, except I just can’t stand the screen just plastered on the dash, A LOT of manufacturers are doing this. Why not just integrate it into the dash completely? We can thank Mercedes for starting that trend when the CLA came out 😂

Oh my god, you never have any negatives on anything... The "RUclipsr" movement was meant to be young up and coming people ready to be free from the pressure of manufacturers who will drive the cars, lot like ex racers, but as us the normal drivers and give you a real life review... Now? It's all big smiles, amazement and really making sure you are still on the manufacturer's good side! Shame really... I see Supercars of London as one of the few still doing "Lifestyle" videos with honest fun.

You’re not wrong at all. McLaren automotive has never put a button on any steering wheel.
