- This is the Koenigsegg Regera, a 1500hp 1500lb ft hypercar with just one gear called Koenigsegg Direct Drive. The Regera is a full carbon bodied supercar, with 3 electric motors and a turbo charged 5.0l V8 engine enabling a 0-60 of 2.8 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 255mph. The Koenigsegg Regera set the world record for the fastest time from zero to 400kmph and back to zero again in just over 31 seconds! Today we're taking an in-depth look at this incredible car before taking it on our new track for the very first time!

@@leeconstant7261 I dont think it would be that long this time. Koenigsegg is growing as a manufacturer, and according to CvK himself, their production cycle is about 3, 4 weeks for a new car to roll out from their factory now. As the 1st production Jesko expected to be delivered to the 1st customer late this year, and maybe with the help and a new collaboration with Michelin, MrJWW might be able to test drive one next year. Or maybe even sooner if they offer him their prototype.

@@MrJWW I love your content and the new HQ! Thank you much for your work! I agree with the comparison to top gear but honestly i was waiting for a hot lap until the end of the video. Do you consider something like that in the future? Is it too risky? In any case i'd love to enjoy some raw onboard footage of you just driving fast one or two laps at a fast but safe pace. Long onboard scenes with pure sound of the car without commentary. Also longer flyby cuts to hear the car coming from the distance and pass the viewer fast. That would be a great add-on, which many car enthusiasts do love :)

Don't these cars use koenigseggs special fuel? I heard he started into this business by developing a type of fuel.
Hunter Altman they patented the flex fuel technology that you see in a lot of vehicles nowadays but they’ve always been known for fast cars

Am I the only one that noticed it is finally possible to talk in a Koenigsegg while driving? I mean this thing is super quiet inside.
Neikels The regera is a ”comfortable grand tourer” so the engine is mounted on rubber inserts to dampen vibrations that goes into the chassi. The engine in the ageras are bolted directly into the chassi. Thats why they are so loud inside!

For me, Koenigsegg represents innovation, immense quality, attention to detail, and pretty much total transparency by the company; they are just forging a new standard and direction for how great vehicles can be, and I love it and love them.
So difficult to convey a sense of speed when the soundtrack differs so greatly. Imagine how jet pilots felt trying to explain to propellor plane pilots how it feels. I get a sense of this from your video. Great work, as always sir

Very well presented and explained for those non-professionals. Normally you hear numbers being thrown out and its difficult to understand it, but here you can mentally appreciate its power
With that much power and torque available at any speed you'd expect that the rear tyres would spin every time you touch the throttle in the dry, let alone the wet! For me THAT is the most impressive thing about the rear suspension

Only took about half a decade for somebody to do a drive review of the Regera! Thank god, its finally here.

Yes, it ages better than I thought.
Still don't think it is as gorgeous as the One:1 (especially chassis #106 and #107) or the RS line of Ageras. The Jesko looks better too I think. The front of the Regera looks quite nice and promises things the tail end does not deliver. Proportions are a bit of, the back wing does not work aesthetically I think. But the inside and engineering is spectacular.

Wasn't it pure electric? A lot of pure electric cars have "one gear" as they have a huge power band and rev range.

I’m not the type to stop and ask someone about their car at a gas station, but I think I would accost James and keep him there forever answering questions about this car!
One of the coolest things about CVK`s whole story is that he got the idea to build his own car after watching the Norwegian stop-motion animated movie Pinchcliffe Grand Prix, which was a groundbreaking film in it`s own right, due to the animation and effects and one of my all time favorite animated films, and now Koenigsegg is one of my favorite car brands.

Brilliant review, love all the carbon on the car. I help design military jets which consist of the whole body being 90% carbon and i can assure you, manufacturing panels out of carbon is not an easy process and takes a lot time to get it perfect!

More like TC slipping which multiples torque. It can slip all the way to red line.

The Regera is a remarkable achievement but the lack of gears just seems like it takes a lot of the driving experience away 🤔🤔🤔
I think you stop saying that once you've driven it and truly felt it. But I agree it doesn't look as impressive when you don't hear the insane revs. Although I assure you it sounds better in person!

I really like the new space and the content, but I have just one small request: When you talk about figures it would be really helpful if the editor added those figures in metric on the screen, kind of like Doug DeMuro does it.
A 2013 Toyota Tundra with dual turbo chargers, revised gear ratios and Ts1 transmission is my dream car.

THIS is my dream car. I love everything about it, especially that power-tool like sound when you put your foot to the throttle. The only thing I hate is that only 80 of these were built. God knows what the resale price is of one of these. But whatever the price, I would put down the money for an experience like this.
