    When you're first starting out with snowboarding, every little piece of the puzzle is challenging! In this tutorial we're going to demystify standing up after doing up your bindings. Later on, we will show you how to get your bindings sorted while standing but for now sitting down to do up your bindings is a nice little break.

    I've been rolling around in the snow to get on my toe edge this whole time, cause I could never figure out how to stand up from a seated position without sliding down the mountain!! Thanks for the video

    I had trouble to stand up since i started and i was always ending up using my toe edge.. once i did lessons for 4 days consecutively, so day after day i was trying to stand up by myself. I noticed that after the 2nd day it became much easier and by the end of the 4th day, my muscle memory was helping me to stand up by a single move!
    Remember: BUTT CLOSE TO THE BOARD!!! The closest possible!

    Been snowboarding for years since I was a teen. I recently tore a muscle in my pectoral (grade 2 tear) at Killington trying to push up and get up off my ass after tightening my bindings. The tear was so bad, I felt it snap. It was excruciating. Had a 2 day pass. So painful that I had to skip the 2nd day and go home early. Took over a week to heal. Could barely sleep at night the entire week. I'm making the change to Burton step on bindings. Still have residual pain from that shit. Fuck sitting down!

    Tried snowboarding for the first time a few years back and I mastered toe edge before heel edge. Why? Because I just realized I only get up from my knee side😂

    Is getting up heel edge what feels like impossible to anyone else? I’m happy to work on gaining strength anyway that would help but wondering if it’s not a strength thing and more of a coordination thing where it just works for some and not for others. I just can’t help but feel helpless and frustrated when trying to get up this way since I’ve never successfully done it on my own. Any additional tips/info on this would be greatly appreciated!

    • @SnowboardAddiction

      Getting up shouldn't take much strength, It all comes down to form. You can send a video to ADDICTION+ And we can help you out, But it's hard to give advice without seeing the issue. That said we will make a video going deeper into this topic!

    To do up the bindings on ur toe side just do up ur bindings facing up the hill and the summer salt backwards, pushing urself up with momentum

    What about strapping while standing up

    • @Delijohn
      @Delijohn 5 лет назад

      What if you lose your balance before you are fully strapped? What if you have pieces of ice between your boots and the bindings? How do you clean well before you strap? Not so good for me... dangerous actually, for you and others (since something can happen until the board is fully strapped on you)

    • @NICKTA78
      @NICKTA78 5 лет назад

      @@Delijohn dunno. I hate sitting and then getting up, so for me standing and strapping in worked nicely, so maybe he could make a guide about that, it's not thag hard honestly

    • @Delijohn
      @Delijohn 5 лет назад

      @@NICKTA78 you hate it until it becomes that easy, that you won't think about it again.. it'd take less that half a second to stand up :) believe me i fell many times when i trying to strap while standing up and i got many angry looks from advanced people around me..
