I bought my first one a few years ago after watching the review on it from you and got mine at home depot. Going to look for this one now. I think the V1 did a really good job. Love the review on them. Great job!
I have 13 Wyze cams. One v1 and one v2 they are all outside. Been using them for years outside. V2 is new but so far so good. The v1 and standard cams I have work well with little issue.
Nice comparison video between the v1 and v2. The starlight sensor makes a huge difference! The video is 1080 quality and the audio is a little muddy. The tracking sounds like a dying cat. It still is a nice camera and the accessories for this can make it possible to use outside. In the right place of your house, this would still be recommended because it takes up little space. Thanks again for all of your hard work!
@LifeHackster Good day, could you please help me with a question, the camera can be placed on the ceiling and inverted (upside down) with a support, it also has the function of reversing the image capture so that it is correct.
There is not really a mount to mount it in a ceiling..and if you are able to set it up, the tilt of the camera will be limited in pointing down when inverted. There are a lot of wall mounts though at Amazon.
I still have my original pan and tilt. Works pretty good for the most part over the last 2 years. But the speaker for two way talk does not work anymore.
Can it survive an interruption in power? I have at least weekly power failures of 1/4 second or more, so I've had to install UPSs. Some devices like Windows desktops and cameras will corrupt their storage if power is lost, and some will not resume operation. This is something you cannot find out from an owners manual.
I hope you review the new Wyze Video Doorbell Pro !!!! I’m upgrading to the Pan V2 because my V1 volume during live view is really low. Not sure if that’s a common problem or just with mine.
Does the version 2 make the same grinding noise version 1 does when it is motion tracking? I know the noise version 1 made was very irritating when it was in the living room. I ended up turning it off.
I have this camera and somehow my live feed is upside down when I open the app. If I open it in landscape view, I can get it right side up, but the time stamp and all writing at top of the screen is upside down. Do you have any advise on how to fix this? I think it must be a setting I’ve changed because this just happened yesterday afternoon when I was going through all the options, but I cannot figure out what I’ve done.
I wanted to replace my pan v1 with v3 because i wanted the spotlight but do you think the pan v2 color night vision is just as good as the v3 with spotlight? Thank you
I'm not sure about yours. But mine resets the rotation angle if I go into detection zone setting. Seems like a software bug but until now the updates still haven't fixed that.
Hi! Thanks for the video!! Which do you think is better? Wyze Cam V3? or Wyze Cam Pan V2? I want to know who is scratching my car, and I'll buy a camera to film from inside the car. Thanks!!
I do really like my Wyze cams, mainly because they're less temperamental with internet connections, but I _absolutely _*_hate_* the *~30 second delay* to be alerted. It's ridiculous.
I read this all the time about long delays for notifications.....I have 8 V3s and my notifications are all under 5 seconds mostly 2....3 seconds tops. And we have the slowest internet speed at home lol.
I want you to try one thing when notifications start to get a little sluggish I unplugged the power cord from my modem and my modem is from spectrum so it's all in one Wi-Fi cable you know what I'm saying but unplug the power cord for 1 minute and then plug it back in and you might see a big difference it works for me let me know
@@pizzadave9812 I have a Netgear wifi router/modem that's better than the one they make you rent. Had the cams before and after changing equipment and they're all slow. What setting are you using in the app?
@@iyeetsecurity922 I have the cameras hooked up to the 2.4 GHz whatever that is but my phone is on the Wi-Fi 5 setting and it's the regular mode on from spectrum it's the combination one so it's one box and every now and then I go into the app I have an Android phone so I hold down the app on my phone until I get to app settings and I force close the app and then bring it back up as normal and the cameras work fast as hell and every now and then if they get sluggish I'll just do the same thing
Can you trigger an indoor camera to record using a separate motion sensor? I am looking to point a camera out a side window to look for deliveries to my front door, and placing a inexpensive motion sensor outside to send back a signal triggering the camera to begin recording (even though the camera may not have detected the motion through the window itself). I am wedded to Homekit, so I’m considering Eve/Thread and Aqara/Zigbee for the save. Vocolinc has inexpensive pan&tilt cams, but their native motion detection fails through windows and even screens. Eufy fared no better. So now I’m hunting for a system that may allow it even if it is not through HSV protocols.
Not sure about this cam, but you may want to consider wyze cam v3. You shouldn't need a separate motion sensor if the camera uses pixel based detection and I think the v3 uses pixel based detection. Pixel based detection can work through windows and the v3 also contains the new starlight sensor.
I just did a window mount review on the wyze cam V3 which I prefer for a camera through glass setup because of the glare and the V3 and also the pan cam uses camera based detection, so you don't need to add a motion sensor.
@@LifeHackster Thank you; that was helpful. I tried the Aqara which has a flat face. Pushed flat against the window, with a 140 degree range of view, it worked. No glare. It picked up motion and notified me. Seems to me that all these albino R2D2s are absurd form-factors designed to fail through a window so we have to purchase the "outdoor" model.
I'm glad that Lifehacker's Pan Cam works without issue since he got it but my Pan Cam works fine most of the time but mine will reset it's self on it's own and many times it has to be reset by unplugging it.... Overall it's still a good camera with a very good picture... Not sure the new camera is worth 50.00.

I really haven't used tracking on my V1 and on any PTZ camera...well, except for the Eufy Floodlight Pro and I'll probably will make a video on this because, yes tracking is not really smooth on any camera and there will always be artifacts when there is movement..and the best is still a static camera.
They have finally fixed the notification times I get person detection notifications within less than five seconds just as good as RING if not even better
Within all my wyze cams they all stopped working within a year. My last 3 stopped working the exact same time a year later after i bought them. Ill Never go back to this crap.

Love your channel bro. Keep up the good work
Thank you.
You are the best on RUclips for sure! 👍🏻
Wow, thanks!
Nice review. I wanted to add more cameras and this one fills my needs at a low price. 😁👍
Exelent review my man 👍👍👍💯. I needed to see some good examples of this camera in action and you did it flawlessly
As informative as I needed, thank you very much
I wish Wyze introduce 2K version of Wyze cam and pan&tilt in near future.
you guess
Very thorough!
If you don’t cringe seeing your old content then you aren’t improving! You certainly are! 👏👍
Love the videos

Can you add a second and third camera? How does it show on the app when you add other cameras?
Yes, you can. It will be in a list view... you can only view one camera at a time.
Without subscription, can you remotely playback the videos via the app, including those that are stored in the SD card?
They should of made a outdoor version and battery only.. i think it would of sold more if it was outdoor..
Awesome review on the Pan V2! Is the bottom magnetic?
No, it is not magnetic.
I still have my original pan and tilt. Works pretty good for the most part over the last 2 years. But the speaker for two way talk does not work anymore.
Wyze should also make this compatible with HomeKit
One day fam
The best update is the design. Much WOW! 🤨

If the WCPV1 is assigned to Cam Plus, what's the advantage? Mine is still recording 12 seconds events - is this normal?
Please where can I get extension cable for Reolink E1 Zoom? Reolink don't sell it.
It uses a small barrel plug. You might want to browse at Amazon and look for the smallest barrel plug that they sell.
You should do the new blink solar mount cam that just came out
I have one in pre-order
Is there a feature where you can motion track people ONLY? and have it still for everything else?
I think it does track any movement and not just people.
Do you like this one or the blurams dome lite 2 better?
wondering if accessories such as silicone cover from V1 will fit right in this new V2, regards

Why is the notification faster on non subscription?
Eufy or Wyze V2 is the better option to buy?
Actually what is the best budget camera with pan and tilt?
Does the version 2 make the same grinding noise version 1 does when it is motion tracking? I know the noise version 1 made was very irritating when it was in the living room. I ended up turning it off.

I have a question if you can try a new security system called Honeywell Vista 20p. I have been hearing about lots of videos of them. Can you try it?
I like mine but I find that accessing it with continuous recording is slow. 🤔
Yes, unless you know the exact time what you want to view.
