Style Your Hair in Scotland | Bring Your Hair Tools | Try Heatless Curling | What You Need to Know

Scotland can be damp, wet and windy. Don't spend a lot of time stressing about how are you going to style your hair while on vacation. You can bring your own hair styling tools but you need to consider a few things before plugging them in.
1. If your styling tool is from the USA, and only reads 110 volts, you will need two items; A) a plug/prong adapter - this has three prongs that go into the wall outlet, and; B) voltage converter - the voltage in UK is 240v and if you simply plug in your 110 volt tool, you will fry it and most likely blow a fuse in the hotel.
2. Bring a dual voltage styling tool from the USA, it must read 110/240v, and you will need one item; A) a plug/prong adapter - since your styling tool is already equipped to handle both types of power voltage, you just need the adapter to be able to plug it into the wall. Read the instructions of your styling tool carefully as some convert between voltages automatically and others have a switch you need to move when changing voltages.
3. Skip the electric styling tools and try a heatless curler. This option is something you wrap your hair around and sleep in. The benefit is your hair will be curled while you sleep saving you time getting ready in the morning. It did not work on my shoulder length hair but I think it would work much better on longer hair. I also couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep with it in.
Honestly, when I was on vacation, I washed my hair at night and let it dry while sleeping. Then I quickly curled it in the morning to give it some body and bounce. But depending on the weather, it was under a hood, tucked behind my ears, up in a clip or ponytail. I didn't want to spend a lot of time doing my hair especially since it was more important to me to get out and about exploring as much as I possibly could.
