Genius! I was born in 1952 and rarely go out so I thought I may not find a fancy and easy hairstyle to look forward to doing while waiting forever to grow my hair long again. Perhaps I COULD wear my hair so pretty like this , not get a headache and wind up cutting my hair again. I may be 70 but I still love to get that look of surprise and appreciation from the love of my life that I did some new 'look' for him while we stay in for our daily date of watching Antiques Roadshow--lol! Subscribed.
Thank you so much! Used this for my wife as a last minute emergency hairstyle as wedding guests and it worked like a charm! Combined it with a loose curl and a facinator
I had to try this hairstyle only twice before I got it perfected, and let me tell you it feels so secure when I’m used to my hair flying around everywhere. I actually wore it to bed as well, and woke up the next morning w it still very intact. & it looks so unique and beautiful for an everyday/casual or formal occasion. Very quick and easy too. Thanks for sharing!
Top tip: always pull out the face framing pieces at the start when you’re first pulling the hair back. Helps to avoid taking too much or regretting it at the end once the hair is fully finished!

Okay I already commented but GIRL. Let me tell you. I suck at this stuff and I mean SUCK. I’ve never been able to follow any online hair tutorials. After two times, I was able to pull it off and I am in shock. I cannot wait to wear this out. Thank you so much. I finally have an elegant up-do to wear for formal events.
did this in 5 mins. so easy and looks so polished! i have thinner, long hair, so making a full-looking bun is typically impossible, but this looks great! tysm :)
My hair is so annoying to style myself, it’s long, coarse and thick which makes it really hard to create updos that last all day and night. This tutorial worked perfectly! ❤ The hairstyle fits formal events, feels so secure even with thick hair and looks like a professional made it although I made it with my own hands!
You are my hero! I have horrible frizzy, dry, rebellious hair so I always wind up braiding it because I can't think of anything else to do with it. I'm a housekeeper and landscaper so my braids often get in the way when I'm working. I've tried to put it in a bun but it always falls out. I was actually looking for a video on how to make a bun that stays in place when I found this video. OMG! this is my new FAVORITE hair style! I've done it twice already and I'm in love! It stays in place all day! And the best part is it stays flat on my head so my bandana isn't twisted to one side and it's so comfortable! I love you for making this video! ❤
You have completely blown my brain with this tutorial my lovely! I’m a zero-maintenance girl (see pic 😬)I cant even blow dry my hair, and it’s ponytail or pony rolled into a sort of bun-that my hair skills. By choice really as I’ve always been so into my outdoor pursuits and books that I never got into makeup & hair other than grooming and basics. But THIS!!! I got it straight away, it took minutes and looks so beautiful & like I have mad skills 😮😀 Thankyou for sharing 👊🏼🙏🏼😚😚😚
I'm a horse chick so my hair do is pony tail or pony tail, so you've instilled some confidence into me that I will be able to master this for an upcoming wedding
I have always been able to do makeup like a MUA, but when it comes to hair i was not as blessed. I did this style three times already and had so many compliments. Even a bunch of moms at my childs school asked me who did my hair 😂 I tried following along many hair tutorials over the years and only yours ever was simple to follow and looked exactly like you show. Thank you for not having me remain hair challenged any longer.
This works a treat on my knee length hair, and is now my go to updo. It's my go to for getting hair up and back for my theatre company, too. It works modified as well. Without the two bobbles, with all the hair flipped, only part of it woven in to leave a section down, pulling it all though one side then the other... I could go on. Knee length, curly hair... up fancy enough for black tie awards nights in a few minutes with one bobbles and a couple of pins. Total game changer!!
I have never seen a perfect way to style a bun, usually people straighten the hair before but that is not the easiest way to make a bun, this video is the single most relatable and doable video for a bun. Loved it.
I’m sooo bad at hair but this is the first tutorial I’ve ever been able to follow properly. Thank you for the clear explanation. I got so many compliments!
HI Lainey I am very traumatised soul and one of many burdens is not knowing how to style up my very Indian, Black, Frizzy,Ugly, Boring, Curly hair! What a perfect hairstyle to make if there’s a “dressier” event right after work and there’s limited time to fix your hair. Looks so intricate and classy. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Been looking for a easy up do that I can manage to do myself for my friends up coming birthday tea , this is beautiful, I may add some sparkly hair pins Thanks so much for sharing x
I can't wait to try this one. I work seasonally on a train for 14+ hours a day. Your viral video is a great quick way for me to look polished, hair out of my way and pretty! I am checking out your old videos to find some styles to add and change up my look. Thanks!
This video saved my life!! My little girl is a flower girl in my best friends wedding on sat and her hair is past her waist! I needed something pretty and easy to do to her hair THANK YOU!!!!
Amazing, this is such a good fast updo, I've used it a few times now. Doesn't look anything like yours in my graying, frizzy hair, but still much neater than anything I've tried up until now. And it stays tight all day :-) I wish I had seen this 20 years ago, would have saved me from so many tears. Thank you!
Thank you again so much!!! I have hair about down to the smal of my back, it is extremely fine, not thin, just fine. Your tutorials work for my hair and it makes my hair look like i have thicker hair, but without the weight and the heat that thick hair can cause on your head in the summer.
First off you are SO SWEET and also GORGEOUS! I have saved many of these videos but always wondered how well I could do them on myself; I’ve had therapy for stretched tendon in my shoulder… I’ve saved this to my notes… my hair is nearly as long as yours(altho I’m 62) and highlighted blonde with streaks. I’ve been wearing a side pony or braid mostly, hot curls when going out but that’s just starting to happen! I am SO excited to see something I can do for MYSELF for everyday that also looks CLASSY! Yay! God Bless You! Oh and curling those tendons will look darling!!
I hope your shoulder gets to feeling better! And I hope this one works well for you! Please report back and let me know! I always love to hear when people try my hairstyles ☺️❤️thanks for watching!!
I just did this with a shag haircut that is between shoulder and breast length and it looks great! I had to use a handful of bobby pins to hide some stray layers. That's it! ❤️😍
Thank you so much for this ! I have struggled with a way to put my hair up for... forever! It would always end up giving me a headache or I failed because it took too long and I couldn't follow any tutorials. My hair is waist length, very straight and very stringy, AND heavy! this bun actually is comfortable and HOLDS and I was able to follow your tutorial thank you so much. Finally something that doesn't involve teasing and five thousand bobby pins (as if I have time for that!!!)
The most beautiful, easy and best hair tutorial! So glad this video was recommended to me. I have mid length straight baby fine hair and have never ever (I’m 43) been able to style my own hair…until now! I did need to use a little texture spray before using this hack as my hair was slipping out where I didn’t want it to. Thank you so so much! I'm regularly stressed out and frustrated when it comes to styling my own very long hair for formal events. Even if I manage to do a simple updo I am never satisfied with the result and it takes ages and many nerves to get there. Finally I will be able to do this wonderful and yet so simple updo and keep my nerves. 💚 I will also try your other hairstyles. Best wishes from Germany!
I just tried it on my hair and it looks so cool! I have long and thick hair so sometimes these updos don’t look so good on me, but this one and the knotted ones are my favorite :) they don’t look like I’m walking around with a beehive on the nape of my neck lol
THANK YOU!!! I am hopeless with hairstyles and I'm going to a wedding tomorrow. Sooo many videos are just too hard and only suitable for long hair with no layers. I have medium length hair but a lot of layers, and I have practiced this hairstyle twice now and both times I have successfully managed this updo!
this is brilliant! I'm staffing a theatre showcase tomorrow and ran out of time to curl my hair tonight, with no time tomorrow as I'll have to be there early to set up, so this was such a life-saver! My hair looks great and it was so so easy
OMG! THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!! ❤❤ Errybody else just wanna play crappy music and expect ppl to rewind 47,000 times to figure it out 😂😂
Thank you so much for posting this! I have somehow managed to grow my hair from shoulder length all the way down to my butt in the past few years. I call it my Covid hair, since not being able to go to the salon is how it all began. I've become rather attached to my Covid hair, but wearing it down just doesn't work so well for me. Massive tangles by the end of the day. This is fabulous! Five minutes and I'm done. And that's with a broken arm!
I’m 54 and have to go to my granddaughters graduation and we have to travel plus a meet and greet before graduation. I needed a hair style that would last 14 hours. ( I have hair that goes below my waist.) Thank you this held up beautifully and I did have a headache by the end of the day.
I just tried this and I absolutely love it!! I have very long hair so this is an easy, super cute and stylish way to have your hair up. Thank you for sharing.❤️
You just saved my life! I have a wedding right after work and I needed something quick and elegant. This hairstyle was just perfect! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
This is the most sturdy hairstyle, it stayed up for my whole shift at McDonald's! I have been looking for a hairstyle that doesn't fall out, thank you I will be using this every shift now. Edit: It may stay up for my whole shift but it takes me forever to do it takes me like 20 minutes to put this up, also it is very hard to take out. There's is too many elastics and hair ties that it cause many tangles. I will be looking for a new hairstyle to wear to work because this takes too long and too many supplies. Also I don't always have this many elastics on hand, you need a lot of bobby pins.
I think you need to give this do another try. I get in done in about 3 minutes and it comes out super easy! 2 things I do to make it easier is to take two sides and pull them to the front of my shoulders and then take the remaining hair and put it in a scrunchy. Then I give each side 2 twists and put them in a hair tie. This makes taking the other pieces and putting them through easier. Then take out the scrunchy and part both sides and continue as instructed. Ifyou don't have 4 ties you can part and give a twist to the 2 sides before putting them through. No Bobby pins needed! To undo, I just pull the tail out, remove the hair tie and gently pull the pieces out and while holding my hair above the ties, slowly pull them out. I might loose 1 or 2 hairs this way but that's it.
I have long, THICK, red, coppery hair that my husband (hair stylist for 40 years) says is like 'yaks hair' ...nice!?.....But, it even works on mine! Woop woop! Thank you for this fab style. Its worth adding that I have very curly hair, and it works so well with my unruly tresses😉👍
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I’ve been trying a bunch of updos lately and this is the only one I’ve been able to accomplish!!! My hair looks beautiful and I’m seriously considering doing this style for my wedding. ☺️☺️☺️💕
I have hair down to my hips so often have a hard time finding fun hair dos for it. I did this style for a doctor's appointment a few days ago and I got so many compliments on it.
Omg…you make me wanna grow my hair longer….I always get annoyed with at summer and cut it just long enough to keep a small pony tail then grow it till the next summer and cut…..think I’m gonna keep it this summer cause your hair dos are amazing. Thanks for sharing.
This is such a beautiful style! 😍 The end result looks so fancy and like it would be way more complicated to do than it is! 👍 you are my go to for hair videos, you always explain so well and come up with the neatest ideas! Thank you! 💖
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! You make it look SOOO EASY. I can NEVER make these kinds of things work like they are suppose to. And I have long thick hair like yours and I will keep on practicing, but again….You make it look so simple and easy….And ELEGANT! Thank you!
WOW that hair style looked so much more complicated before seeing your tutorial. You did an excellent job at explaining it. I can't wait to try it :) Gorgeous absolutely love it! Tysm for posting this 😁
You have saved me! I’m studying to be an EMT and am trying to find easy updo’s. My problem is most ways, even just a ponytail, gives me a headache and then tons of tension in my neck and shoulders, if it weighs on my scalp at all. I don’t feel a thing with this do!
I went to save this but I’d already saved it! I haven’t tried it yet though. These updos looks so pretty on blondes because of the gradations of color in your hair. I’m a brunette and I guess it just doesn’t inspire me as much with the way my hair is probably going to look but I need to try it! Thanks for sharing it.
That’s so pretty. I love your hair videos but can never achieve the same look. My hair is really fine and I don’t have a lot of it so. It’s also wavy and straight in some places … it’s basically all over the place lol. Is there a way you can do some hairstyles for fine, thin hair? I always end up either straightening it or putting it up in a pony tail.
This looks so simple and pretty! I feel like it'd be hard to feel around and get it to look good without being able to see behind your head though. Topsytail is such a cute word 😂
Great stuff! My hair's been growing over the past two years - and I like it long now. You've given me lots of ideas for elegant styles! I'm no longer in the first flush of youth, so can't wear my hair down (unless in private!) so these smart styles are just wonderful! Thank you so much.
I love the style! Thank you for sharing it. I will definitely try it and also try to remember to post back to you about how it went. You made it look so easy. 👍🏼💜
Lainey, first I just adore you! Thank you for all the hair love! xx Question: my hair isn't quite as long as yours, but I want a fuller bun, any reocmmendations for adding clip-ons or some-such to back of head to add length for bun purposes? If so, please send link or make a vid! TY!
I attempted to do this hairstyle one morning before school and because I have naturally curly hair it wouldn't work out... it would frizz up. So I braided the two pig tails and did the same thing except in braids and it came out really cool! Got some compliments
My hair is about 5-6 inches shorter than yours (you have beautiful hair), I couldn’t get the last loop(?) through, my hair just wasn’t long enough, but I did manage to create a “messy” chignon look. Ha I’ll keep trying.
Oooo! I bet it was still cute. Maybe just go through the twists once on each side and tie a knot above or below with the strands left hanging down? ☺️❤️
I did three cross overs and the hair that fell out in the front I curled. It looks very romantic and felt pretty secure even before pins. I hope it holds…we’re dancing tonight! 💃🏻
Hi! I know I’m pretty late, but thank you so much!!! I wore this updo to my intense drama rehearsal and it literally stayed up the entire time! Thank you so much!
I just tried it. I’m going to a wake this afternoon. So easy unlike so many other so called easy videos I’ve watched Thank you. Hope mine looks as good as yours even though my hair is greying.
I love this it is so cute an so easy to do I do it on my daughters hair she has hair down to her waist so I ran out of easy hairstyles to do in the morning this is beautiful❤ thanks!
I tried this style and it was really easy for me. My hair is much longer than yours so I just kept repeating until I only had the ends left. Thanks for sharing!!!🌸
My daughter just did my hair like this for an interview. My hair is medium length and a bit fine. Not long enough to do the little ponytail at the end so we pinned it. Looks amazing and off my neck!! Thank you
Just tried this on my shoulder length hair (just because some people consider "medium length" to be shoulder length while others consider medium length to be an inch or two below the shoulder so I thought why not). Definitely this is more for someone whose hair is an inch or two below the shoulder, but if you do it right you can just manage one pull-through before you pin it under.
Thanks for this life- saving video! It's normally a challenge to find something that'll work on stubborn, straight Asian hair, but my sister and I tried this one and it seems to work. Might just have found our new bridesmaid hairstyle :)
I did it and it looked crazy. I have medium thickness, long straight hair. I need to master something by next weekend- going to keep practicing every day!
Thank you so much!!! I have hair down to my waist and this hairstyle is perfect!! It is so secure and I used one bobby pin! Finally found my wedding hairstyle!!

Beautiful and super easy, I just had it done and because my hair is extra long I did 5 repeats with no need of bobby-pins, txs for sharing 🙏🏻
Oh, awesome!!! So glad it works on super long hair! Thanks for sharing☺️
I’m 54 and have to go to my granddaughters graduation and we have to travel plus a meet and greet before graduation. I needed a hair style that would last 14 hours. ( I have hair that goes below my waist.) Thank you this held up beautifully and I did have a headache by the end of the day.
That's an awesome do! I'll have to help my wife with that one, part of my honey 🍯 "do" list!
That’s awesome! I’m sure she will love it!
We had to watch the video again, paused it, too Thanks again 🤗
Wow! That's sweet.
@@LaineyMarieBeauty i am new and i love you so much you make every thing easy +this video is Amazing and i will subscribe to your channel
That's so sweet........
God bless your marriage...
With "honey" and joy and love beyond human understanding 😉
Thank you so much for this. The hairstyle for long hair are rare ❤
Hi. Try Chi's Hair Arrange, Another Braid and Maya Estafava (?).
Woohoo! I love to hear that!! Thank you for watching and sharing :)
I have hair down to my hips so often have a hard time finding fun hair dos for it. I did this style for a doctor's appointment a few days ago and I got so many compliments on it.
Best hair tutorial so far, I love it, your instructions were clear enough for me to perform it on myself ❤
I love that it looks like a huge braid in elegant and humble way.
I love this one too! Thank you so much for showing at a slower pace. This is a very easy tutorial and I think I’ll try it. You have beautiful hair!
You’re welcome!! Thank you for watching ☺️
Thank you! 💖
That means so much!! THANK YOU :)
Finally a hairstyle video where the front is also shown
That way you have an idea of what it's gonna look like in the front.
Obsessed with how easy and classy this hairstyle is! Love it! 😍🙌🏻
I can't wait to try it :)
Gorgeous absolutely love it! Tysm for posting this 😁
The small, clear elastics have been a game changer.
Wow this is my most favorite updo you have done. It is so easy to, can’t wait to wear it to work tomorrow!
Yay! Hope it turned out well ☺️
You have saved me! I’m studying to be an EMT and am trying to find easy updo’s. My problem is most ways, even just a ponytail, gives me a headache and then tons of tension in my neck and shoulders, if it weighs on my scalp at all. I don’t feel a thing with this do!
Finally! A tutorial that made sense. Thank you. Love it 😊
Yay! Hope it works well for you :)
That blue shirt and soft peach lip color is PERFECT on you! So beautiful!
This is the first video for an updo that I’ve ever felt like I could actually do! I’m excited to try this, even if I only wear it around the house!!
I love this and can’t wait to try it on both myself and my daughter 😊
Yay! Hope you both love it 🥰
Lifesaver ! Thank you! Doing this at my wedding in a couple of days!
Hi! Thanks so much! I can certainly try ❤️❤️
I've tried soo many hairstyles and they never turn out as well as I hope..... this one was different!!!!! I worked perfectly first try!
This looks so simple and pretty! I feel like it'd be hard to feel around and get it to look good without being able to see behind your head though. Topsytail is such a cute word 😂
😂what you don’t see in my videos is me stopping to check in the mirror each step ☺️thank you for watching 💗💗💗
topsy tail is a tool from the 90s
@@LaineyMarieBeauty Ahh, I'm so glad you mentioned this
Oh, I love this. It doesn't take long to create that fabulous, complicated look. Perfect. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks so much ☺️
OMG I love it!! That does look super easy! And the fact that it's a low bun probably means less stress on your scalp, right?
For sure :)
I tried this but now my hair is all knotted up :)(
I did this for a friends bridal hair but sprayed it and pulled out the sections to make a bit more boho. She looked stunning ❤
Great stuff! My hair's been growing over the past two years - and I like it long now. You've given me lots of ideas for elegant styles! I'm no longer in the first flush of youth, so can't wear my hair down (unless in private!) so these smart styles are just wonderful! Thank you so much.
Thank you. I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing this a million times so elegant and sophisticated
I love the style! Thank you for sharing it. I will definitely try it and also try to remember to post back to you about how it went. You made it look so easy. 👍🏼💜
Yay! Thank you so much ☺️
Lainey, first I just adore you! Thank you for all the hair love! xx Question: my hair isn't quite as long as yours, but I want a fuller bun, any reocmmendations for adding clip-ons or some-such to back of head to add length for bun purposes? If so, please send link or make a vid! TY!
Love this! Great idea! Nice and secure without bobby-pins ( which I hate). Thanks! 💗
Amen!!! Thanks for watching :)
I attempted to do this hairstyle one morning before school and because I have naturally curly hair it wouldn't work out... it would frizz up. So I braided the two pig tails and did the same thing except in braids and it came out really cool! Got some compliments
This is so beautiful! Can't wait to try it. Thanks for the tutorial. You make it very easy to follow :)
love that hairstyle makes me really want to grow out my hair
Thanks for sharing! I'll try it tonight for church. Please post more for very long hair up-doos!
Thank you for sharing. I saw someone today do that on tiktok, but that was a quick video. Thank you for breaking down the steps on how to do that!
You’re so welcome!!
I could never do the back like that , good for you , looks so pretty !❤
Beautiful. Simple yet elegant. And simple enough that even I might be able to pull off! 👍
Thanks for sharing.💕
I love this it is so cute an so easy to do I do it on my daughters hair she has hair down to her waist so I ran out of easy hairstyles to do in the morning this is beautiful❤ thanks!
Amazing. A 3 minute video. So simple and elegant thank you for getting to the point.
Having my piano recital in 2 days and I think I've found my hairstyle for the day!! Thank you for this
I loved this. It was quite easy. I tucked the ends into the top rather than bringing them round to the bottom
Ooo cute! Thanks for sharing :)
I did not expect that! Super cute!! 😍
Right! It's magic Lol! Thanks so much!
@@LaineyMarieBeauty lol yw 😘
Lovely, elegant, simple. What more could we ask for? 💜
I was going to have my hair cut today, and Now I seen this and I Love it! Thank You 😊
It looks beautiful. But then again, I think Lainey would look beautiful with any hairstyle. Even without any hair.
I did it and it looked crazy. I have medium thickness, long straight hair. I need to master something by next weekend- going to keep practicing every day!
Thankyou, this is so amazing on thick hair! My hair is naturally wavy, borderline curly and this looks cute even when its half done. :)
Thank you so much!!! I have hair down to my waist and this hairstyle is perfect!! It is so secure and I used one bobby pin! Finally found my wedding hairstyle!!
