10 min Full Body Cool Down Stretches for Recovery & Flexibility | growwithjo

- You've just completed a workout, and I know girl; you've got things to do, and places to be...but I want to remind you that #recovery is just as important as doing the workouts themselves.
The best way for you to set yourself up for optimal recovery is to create or follow a stretch routine. This will help you get flexible and will prime your muscles, sending oxygen via blood to them, for the best recovery.
Recovery is the part where our muscles are actually being built back up. And having lean muscle mass is important so that you have a great metabolism! Trust me, sis it all connects!
So today I am taking you through a 10 minute quick stretch to slow yourself down a bit, unwind, and open up your body so that nothing gets tight or extremely sore. This is going to cure all that.
We start by keeping our feet moving to promote a healthy slowing of our heart rate, and we slowly bring our feet to a stop as we move into our static stretches
If you still struggle with any of these poses or moves, feel free to accommodate them to your liking/needs!

I am just a kid but I am severely overweight for a 12 year old, 250 pounds to be exact. I just did one of your beginner workouts and it took me to the cool down so I did it. Today is day 1 of my journey. Stay positive and don’t forget to love yourself, even on your worst days

I’m older than you, but I started at the exact same weight. I’ve been doing her workouts since January, and idk how many pounds I’ve lost (I don’t own a scale yet) but I had to buy new clothes, and lost a lot of inches. Please don’t give up, and stay CONSISTENT! I believe in you ❤❤❤ it’s hard at first, but it’s so worth it.

Leaving my mark here, doing 10 mins strech, 20 mins beginner workout and this cool down, this is the most enjoyable tutorial i've ever followed. I'm at 92 kg and this was my second day workout with you, and i already feel easier to move and follow it than yesterday. I'll update my progress in a month, thanks gurl 💅
Update:
I've been consistently working out 5 days a week this past month.I'm also starting to enjoy my time working out and feel better and stronger compared to before.
I started doing her 10.000 steps workout during the 2nd week, at first I lasted till the 1st break, but now I can go all the way. Still doing the stretch and cool down, especially on my rest day.
Now, I started to add weights in my workouts and in case you're curious, I lost almost 5kg which I considered healthy enough for my first month working out,
Now I'm in 80s group \(^o^)/.
I'm gonna keep going on my own pace and focus on my mindset of living better than ever, physically and mentally.

As for myself, I have lost 22 kg since I started working out, now I'm at 70kg! And feel better both physically and mentally!
I started with Jo's videos and now I'm combining her and Chloe ting videos( toned up challenge). I still eat what I like and anything in moderation. It's all become a habit at this point for me.

I’m used to really heavy and tough workouts but with my injuries I’ve had to tone it down but feel like most are just not challenging enough or the exercise aggravates my injuries. With your workout I was like okay let’s see if it makes me sweat and see how close to 600 calories I can get to! Lol girl I was soaked! Drenched in sweat - I felt great and could feel the burn where I needed to feel it without aggravating my injuries and I burned over 400 calories! Ty! My body was so sore from doing your arm and 60 min workout yesterday. I decided to do this stretch recovery and I feel so much better. My body doesn't hurt as much and I feel my joints free. Thank you so much for this channel, you rock.
This is literally the first cool down I've done that doesn't feel like a workout within itself. I'm always out of breath when doing other people's cool downs which doesn't help me cool down at all lol. Thank you for this one!

Just one more comment. I graduated from PT and find the dynamic stretching to be really helpful. Each part gets a little bit of love without stressing the area being worked or over stretching. I have some areas of hyper mobility so this is another plus in my book. 😘

@growwithjo I have lost 12.6 pounds since 1/31/2023, around when I started doing these videos. I was at a cashier job where I was on my feet all day, less two 15-minute breaks and one 60-minute lunch breaks. I had to stop doing these videos because I was in so much pain from that job. I went home and took Epson salt bath almost every day with essential oils. Now that I am at a different job where I don’t have to spend all the time on my feet every day, as a substitute teacher, I am ready to start walking regularly again, and doing these videos when I am ready. Thank you for all you do!
I haven’t worked out for more than half a year because it feels forced since I don’t like it. I just found your dance workouts and did a couple plus a cool down and I enjoyed so much!! Thank you for making me want to bring myself back to shape while having fun ❤

This is a great way to start my new weight loss journey in 2025!
First time doing this today. I'm adding it to my routine for recovery after a gym day and before bed. I feel a lot more relaxed after doing this, and hoping it'll assist with tissue repair and sleep.

This is my first video and I love it. It is evenly pace. The exercise routine are not to difficult for me to perform. l am not so coordinated so I like how she show the next move coming up. I look forward to getting in better shape and lose the weight.

I just discovered you and I'm so grateful. I did one of the morning workouts before this. I enjoyed both so much that when I saw the workout complete signs pop up I thought, ALREADY?! I'm really relaxed with the cool down.Lately,I've been really addicted to you and your channel.
Recovering from concussion and whip lash injury. Just got the ok to start doing some exercise from my doctor. I was able to tolerate your morning workout with some modification and this video but I went short on the head down ones as that makes me a bit dizzy. But I am so proud of myself. I put on a ton of weight from not working and being unable to tolerate activity until now, so I am hoping to get back to where I was and even maybe lose more than that.
I have been doing some of your workout for a week and I feel amazing. I want to do this for a month and hopefully see results
