Beltline weatherstripping is the pieces of weatherstrip that run along the top of the door on either side of the window, which wipes the window and keeps water from getting down into the door. On older Mustangs, this weatherstripping can easily become cracked, brittle and damaged, and can stop doing the job that it should. That failure can allow water into the door and cause much bigger damage to the door, so it is important that the Beltline Weatherstripping be replaced at the first sign of damage. Now, you can follow this video to change the weatherstripping on your 1967-1968 Mustang.

Just went through this on a 1968. Learn from my mistake and buy the Repop Brand of beltline weatherstrip! The CJ version flopped around in the holes and was going to require screws to hold it in place Repops went right in and NO screws required. They even felt completely different!

Good time to vacuum out junk inside door. Make sure drain gap is clear. Scrape out any rust underway... Good place for rusty metal primer once you hit it with Scotch Brite. Good time also to lube the door latch and lock mechanism while you're in there. I drop my led headlamp in there while I'm on it.foam brush works great for paint.

Great video for a small but important part that needs to be done.

Much better video than others, photography had pretty good lighting so could see what was going on. I see you didn't install the screw at the vent window end of the outer beltline, I did (what a hassle). Although not specifically mentioned here and other videos, I get the impression that the beltline weatherstrip is installed AFTER the door glass is installed. Whoops! Guess I'll have to take beltline back out to get glass in. I'm a rank amateur helping a friend put his car back together and there was no weatherstrip on the door when I removed the door guts for media blasting. Now I'll have to be careful not to ruin the clips upon removal, wish there was some special tool for doing that.

This video is great. Did my beltlines last weekend, no problem! Wish you'd do one for the quarter windows too.

The set I purchased from CJ included all the weatherstrips in one kit. The exterior strips, however, look much more “plasticky” than these you show installed. They do not flex well at all, clips are ridiculously loose in the door holes and, despite reinstalling the screw at the end, rotate all over the place as the window goes up and down. Since raising the window rotates the whole outer weatherstrip on the door, moving the weatherstrip out where the base is in the door, the bottom window metal channel gets hooked on the strip edge and the door glass stops before reaching the full up position. Very dissatisfied result, and will have to remove and order better strips. The video is great, but the results greatly depend on the quality of the strips - even when ordered from CJ.

Sorry I was not getting updates for this video for some reason. The 67 and up used the heavier rubber outer beltline, the 64-66 used the style you described. As long as your inner and outer are in good shape they will get the job done!

I'm curious. Is it possible to make a car parts installation video without thrash rock in the background?

We did the 71-73 including the quarter window which is basically the same concept.

Purchased the 8 piece set and the outer strip for the driver side door does not fit snug in the entry holes. The strip just hangs. The clips are smaller then the entry holes. Help.

Could you tell me the size of the tires and wheels on the 67? Awesome car and channel.

what exact part did you put on the outside of the window? I just ordered a 4 piece inner and outer from you guys and installed them easily in my 66 coupe thanks to the video. But the outer pieces were the stupid fuzzy cat whiskers instead of the nice tight rubber seals u r using in the video. better than before, but im scared water will still get in my doors!!

I can’t seem to keep the weatherstripping in place it keeps coming lose I’ve followed this video to a T and I’m using the same kit is there any reason why this is happening?

I hope you respond to this but is this the same kind of installation for a 68 Cougar?

+IDiedForYou1776 I haven't installed one on a 68 Cougar yet but I would guess they are pretty similar.
