    Used your disassembly video this weekend (x2, drvr&pssngr). THANK YOU! I did not notice a "card" to this video on the disassembly video. The gaping hole on the skin of this door is a brilliant teaching tool! Whoever came up with that idea should get an monetary award for making the awsomest exhibit!

    I like to use carpenters wood shims to hold the glass in place. In fact when I was in college that is how I kept my windows up because I did not have the money to fix the regulators.

    FYI, Found another way to hold the door glass up if you're doing this solo. Window in the "up" position. Slide two reasonable length Phillips screwdriver in two of the upper door panel holes. Rest the glass on the screwdrivers while you fish the regulator into place.

    First of all, THANK YOU for the hard work of making all these videos. My dad and I have been restoring a 1968 Mustang Fastback and we have watched and used the "help" of your videos SO MUCH. Hopefully NPD treats you guys well because we have bought many things from them, based on your recommendations. We recently installed the "complete vent window assembly" and we are running into trouble with the door window hitting the "black plastic (looks like rubber in pictures but it is a plastic material)" attachment (that is located at the top of the vent window trim). It keeps the door window from going up all the way??? Have you ever ran into this? I went through this video a few times but could not find anything. Sure would appreciate any ideas? Thank you again for all the great videos.

    I've just reinstalled mine with new beltline weather strips and new mole skin. My glass seems to come up higher in the back, towards the quarter window and low in the front. If I look in the door I notice that the window is out of the channel. Not sure what to do with that, it doesn't seem to want roll up or down evenly. Any suggestions?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  6 лет назад +1

      "Green Dot" is the Mustang Slang for the '65/'66 C4. It uses a different shift pattern than the '67 on up C4. The Green Dot position is the "normal" driving position, even though it looks like it would be in 2nd gear.
      The shifter is labeled:
      P - Park
      R - Reverse
      N - Neutral
      White Dot - starts in 2nd gear, automatically shifts to 3rd
      Green Dot - runs a full shift pattern: 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
      L - EITHER first gear or second gear, depending on the gear you are in.
      You can manually shift a green dot; here's how:
      Start of with shifter in 'L' ... this will start in 1st gear and hold 1st.
      When you're ready for 2nd gear, shift to Green Dot. The tranny will shift to 2nd. Leave the shifter here until the RPM's build about another 300 RPMs, then pull the shifter back to 'L'. This will now hold it in 2nd gear (don't worry, the governer valve will not allow it to down shift).
      When you're ready for 3rd gear, shift to green dot again, and it will now shift into 3rd.
      The tricky part of shifting a green dot is knowing when to pull the shifter back to 'L'. If you do it TOO quick, it can down shift to 1st. If you're not quick enough, it will shift on into 3rd.

    on my 67 Mustang coupe. both the driver,s and passenger,s windows will not stay rolled up all of the way. i can roll them up, but about 2 days later they have come down about 3/8 of an inch. and i have mistakenly used the white lith. grease on them. i know that you cannot see my problem , but what would you think i need to do.? your videos are awesome. thanks.

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  6 лет назад

      I would hazard the guess of the spring for the window issue. Not sure if you can do much about the spring. winding it one step further might be "too much". Replacement might be your only option as those are supposed to hold the glass up. Lithium grease isn't "bad" it just isn't great.

    If you are doing this at home be advised that the glass does not go in this easily. They have removed the mechanics of the door latch and the various connecting rods as well as the part of the rear window guide that restricts the window from going up too far. Also they do not show how to move the regulator past the division bar inside the door;..it must be forced past it. These items make this job VERY difficult in the real world.
