As @Glen Black mentioned, she is not generally concentrating that hard once she knows a song, and this one does not appear too difficult for her. She learned this song for a live gig at the famous Whiskey-A-Go-Go in Los Angeles where she is becoming a regular for their Tuesday Ultimate Jam Nights where top-level musicians are put together to perform unrehearsed and unsound-checked songs based on the theme of the night. In this case, it was heavy metal. She did a drum solo, then a Guns-n-Roses number then this one. Of course, she absolutely nailed it and I hope it gets uploaded to YT. It is only on her Patreon channel at the moment. It is hard to fathom how relaxed she is playing whether in her home, in a recording studio or live with pros, nothing phases her. Her parents are fantastic supporters of her - how many parents would let their 13/14-year-old daughter frequent a bar/nightclub on a school night! YOYOKA gets massive respect from her fellow musicians most 2/3/4/5/6 times her age! She is one of, if not, the hardest working 14-year-olds out there. Attending school, practicing (not her favourite thing) gigging virtually every week somewhere, recording albums, etc.
Love your reaction as you both picked up on what we in the YOYOKA community call the YOYOKA effect. Many songs have their drum track improved by YOYOKA!

Yoyoka has been playing nearly all her life. Her first RUclips vid shows her at 4. She has just had her 14th. She has this down so well that she recently played it at the Whisky A Go Go with a band she'd not rehearsed with. She knows well ow to tune and mike her set but her father Aki is always on hand to help. Not that jazz fusion is your thing but she has recorded to studio albums with Ken Ocada and has played some of the numbers live. Odd time signatures are no problem for her now. In this one instruments are playing different time signatures simultaneously so it is no wonder you were not able to nail it. Thank you for your reaction.

Hi Andrew. She actually has this one from Age 3. It's one row up from the bottom of the list. " ドラム 3歳 セッション " ruclips.net/video/V0LjFNA2m90/видео.html

Outstanding! Much respect to YOYOKA. That limb independence. I can not even "air drum" to the song. She makes it so effortless!
But did you miss the O'Keefe Music Foundation Forty Six & 2 cover? The band is comprised of all teen and pre-teen students. They bring in keyboards and a female vocalist too. Pure joy watching them play and bring it.
Another can't miss cover is "The Pot" by Brass Against. The horns add a new element of... brass😄

I believe on the front end of your video you are talking about Meytal Cohen. She has a pile of followers, mainly because of her looks, not her drumming skills. She is a decent drummer, but in terms of age would kind of compare with Senri Kawaguchi, but not in terms of skill. Senri is way beyond her in terms of skill as is Yoyoka who is twenty six years younger than Meytal Cohen.
Yoyoka brings a special energy to the drum throne.
The best way to appreciate Yoyoka's skill on the kit is to play her music through a good set of speakers. He ability speaks for itself whether she is doing a drum cover or up on stage playing with a band.

Thanks for the great reaction! I actually doubt she is concentrating though (When you guys were talking about it. Later there are a few spots where she was). This is just so easy for her. In an interview one time, she was asked what she thinks about when she's drumming. Her response, "Sometimes, I'm thinking abut what's for dinner." So she is more likely just hungry. I think she is the only person on the planet, that thinks her timing needs work. When she was in Las Vegas for the Japanese Festival, Rob Yule (who flew down from Canada just to see her) and I were speaking to her. During the conversation, nicknames came up. She asked what some of them were and we fired off 5 or 6. When I mentioned "The Human Metronome", she says "Yeah, my timing is not good." Rob and I just looked at each other and laughed. Then we informed her that her timing is as close to perfect as you can get. I have to assume that her brain can actually detect that her timing is off by maybe a few 1/1000's of a second, something that is not humanly possible from the rest of us. Her father is a great sound engineer and has taught her how to be as well, so it could be either of them that miked the kit. She used to use 11 mics, 3 of which were on her snare, top, bottom and side. She did a video showing this. Thanks again!

One last thought. You don't even need to respond to this. You might look at Wave Potter's format though. It's one I really like, and I asked if he minded me sharing it. Not sure where he got it. I've recommended it to maybe 5 reactionists and 4 of them liked it enough to put their spin on it and use it. It allows for a bit larger view of the musician's video without ever covering any part of the video. I started recommending it because some of the reactions were overlaying themselves over foot cams and such. Of course, you overlay the video over yourselves, so you don't have that particular problem. If you like it, and want to know who else uses a version of it, I can provide the other channels so you can look at them as well. It makes no difference to me, just like to share cool things that make everyone's experience better. Love your reactions, otherwise I wouldn't bother...lol ruclips.net/video/P_B3XBS9b8k/видео.html Wave and I are YT friends, so you can ignore the beginning where he is making fun of me for giving him a hard time about one of his reactions where he kept taking sips of water and looking away when the really cool parts happened....lol You might want to watch her whole video, but on this link she does a really crazy one handed fill that is insane! (at 8:01) Hope you at least look at it. Thanks for all you do!

No, after watching her for over 6 years, she is definitely bored! This cover was literally a walk in the park for her! IMO! Hey Dad, you shouldn’t dismiss your daughter so quickly, she’s right! Cheers from the States! 🇺🇸🇬🇧😎

Had to quit listening after a minute because the volume was too low on Yoyoka's video. I'll come back after y'all have remixed the video to pump up her sound....
