Hi Anna, I really enjoyed your tutorial, you did a fabulous job of explaining the process without faffing about. Your jewellery is stunning! so much attention to detail. Well done on your first video and I hope there will be plenty more! xx
You first tutorial was excellent! Congratulations! I learn a lot. What I want now is a tutorial on how to make those beautiful eye pupils and other images :) Thanks!
Very lovely, Anna. But I did not see where you taught us how to make the glass cabochons as your heading reads. I thought we would be making the glass domes.
I see this is an old comment but you can always place the cabachon glass with the dimensional magic onto a picture, let it dry and cut around it. Or you can but a 1 inch holes punch.
Is the diamond glaze strong enough to stick the both for a long time? Can you recommend an alternative clear paste that will do the job or I can use any clear glue? Because most clear glues are not very strong...
Hi Anna, How do you finish these? Do you just cut around the dome with scissors? Do you seal the edges? Thanks.
9 лет назад
just cut it with a scissor. I don't seal the edges, it hasn't been needed for me so far as I mostly use them in beading (bezel it) and with PC (embed it in the clay).
what do you mean thats it..? You missed a whole bunch of steps. like YES how did you print them, what programs did you use, how do you cut them, and polish them etc. what was the glue....thanks
9 лет назад+2
+Ella Marie Printing depends on what printer and printing software you're using. If you're meaning how you print the images I have for sell on my etsy, there's instructions on the page but basically - print on A4 glossy or matte photo paper without a border added. You just cut them out with a scissor ones the glue is dry. And the glue I used in this video was diamond glaze :)
Awesome Would have loved to see the finish product lol.... The jewel that you showed at the end was breathtaking wow.... Would love to know how to do those also
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial, Anna. It was. Very well done. Looking forward to making the dragons eyes especially. Can you recommend a site to download images for them?
Hi Anna...so you put the first layer of diamond glaze and let it dry for 10 mins then glue down with another layer. I was trying to understand over the music but it sounds like what you said...cause mine keep smearing when i glue diamond glaze on directly with no wait...thank you for helping me with this
Not a fan of using printed eyes/designs, BUT there are uses for it. I was thinking though, If you cut out the pictures, (leaving a boarder) you could then pick up the print, and roll it onto the back of the cabochon. This would push the air bubbles out as you apply it.
Hi! Thank you for your tutorial. Very helpful. The paper you are using looks pretty think. Could you tell us what grade you are using? And is it glazed? Thanks
Hi Anna, Can you show us how to make the pictures? Do I just print it from my printer? Do I use photography paper or normal A4 paper? So many questions and I can't find any answer !!!
I wanted to know how you cut it and if you used anything to seal the paper in the back. I don't like that it's exposed because it could get wet and damaged more easily.
Do you cut it out with an exacto knife? How do you finish the back? Very helpful btw. Ty.

I just use scissors to cut them out :) I mainly use them in my beadwork or in polymer clay so I don't really seal the back of them as I usually close them up by embedding them into the work; beading - bezel, pc - working it into the clay.
Could barely hear with that back ground music.can you explain what cam you explain what you were brushing on what they are and reason why use.can also show bottles.thanks
Hello, Your creations sindf really very much very nicely! Can you say me where I get the pictures, especially for dragon's eyes? Unfortunately, I do not find them here. Would like to produce glass-eyes for dragon. Dear thanks
Can you use liquid clay to glue them together or is there some type of other baking safe glue
6 лет назад+1
I've never tried, so I can't say for sure :) But I would guess it also depends on what paper you're using as some photo paper mainly have their film made from plastic, which melts at certain temperatures. I would suggest that you use a scrap piece and try it out for yourself and see what result you can get ^^
Your tutorial is awesome, especially for a first one. I was wondering if you plan to sell the eye graphic. It would be helpful for those of us who don't know what program you used to create them or how to create them. I would also like to respectfully say that the background music is beautiful but makes it a little difficult to hear you. I would also like to say that I love all of the pieces you showed. Maybe a tutorial on bead weaving should be next on your agenda especially how to make the shapes of the bracelets, what you use as a backing and how to attach a backing to the bead work. best of luck to you.

+Mary Mangano Thank you for your feedback. And I've actually been thinking about putting up the eye grpx for sale on my etsy since there have been so many request :)
I've made these type of photo-printed cabochons for quite a while. This is a trick I've learned. Rather than using glue or glaze or mod podge, I use Diamond Glaze or another brand of clear dimensional gloss to attach the photos to the glass. It resolves the issue of the photos becoming blurry or smeared looking. I use regular copy paper printed with a cheap inkjet printer. As long as the ink has fully dried, something like Diamond Glaze won't make the ink smear. Once you lay the glass onto the photo, it's helpful to move it around and press it down a little to get rid of any possible air bubbles.
Do you print on a laser jet? I have an inkjet and a lot of similar things say they won't work with an inkjet?

+Sharon Denning sorry for the late respond. G+ doesn't always seem to notify me about new comments... I'm using a Canon MG5300 photo printer. From my own experience photo printers gives the best result when it comes to quality, detail and colour :)
Crystal DreamBaby But try to avoid the glossy photo paper, because they can make the ink blurry.

Crystal DreamBaby The nun design sealant or any sealant are there for not making the photo blurry. I only use glossy photo paper, also used in this video :)
Monica Gueye Hi. Nothing is on the back, just the paper. I glue the backside onto something else; fabric, metal etc. to finish them off. I never use them plain so the back shows.
Hello! Really great cabochons :) I just wonder, how do you make those pictures round? Idk, you do that in photoshop? Because I couldn't find any picture that is that round to print it :( Thank you very much for your answer
10 лет назад
Yeah, they're made in photoshop :) What I basically do to get the right size in the software is that I open a new document with an equal sized square, and then I make a circle in it and start from the center. Hope that helps :)
is there a way to drill into this glass ? or if I want to do pendants do I have to attach something to it? does anyone knows?
10 лет назад
I would not recommend to drill in glass unless you have a special diamond drill and tools adapted for that. There are a lot of setting for cabochons in metal where you can just glue the picture directly into the frame and then do the process I showed in the video with attaching the clear glass cabochon onto it.
Anna Fjellborg Just buy some glue on bails and super glue it on the back of the glass. You can get them on eBay or at FireMountainGems.com and most craft stores.

Hello, I am a photographer and I would love to print my own work to use it for cabochons as you do. Please, can you tell me how you print your images? I resize them in Photoshop but after printing they look awful :( I can't find any information online :(

Mon B. Hi. I usually print them on 5x8" photopaper from the printing software. I used that size when I made a document in PS, saved it and opened it in the software. I have a Canon MG5300. That's pretty much all I do to get the printed size I want.
Ha! Excellent.
I had not thought to attach the cabochon before cutting the image out. Such a better sequence!
Such a "little" thing is a great help.
Thank you very much for this excellent tutorial - very clear and inspiring
Thank you so much, I love your bead-work, and you clarified my questioning of glue for cabachons.
I am going to be doing this for fishing lures. great tutorial! I would have never thought it was this easy..
I must have misunderstood, but I thought you were going to actually show how to make the glass cabachon itself as it says in the title!
That was neat how you did that. I really enjoyed watching your video.
Super cool, I will be doing some of these as I am teaching myself bead embroidery so please do more, thank you so very much
Hi Anna, I really enjoyed your tutorial, you did a fabulous job of explaining the process without faffing about. Your jewellery is stunning! so much attention to detail. Well done on your first video and I hope there will be plenty more! xx
Thanks. I also would like you to make a tutorial on how you made the art (circle, oval sizes, where you got your pictures from) for your cabochons.

Great video....Can you tell me how you cut them out? With scissors or an x-acto knife...??
I see this is an old comment but you can always place the cabachon glass with the dimensional magic onto a picture, let it dry and cut around it. Or you can but a 1 inch holes punch.
Hi! Thanks for a great tutorial. I love your beadwork, very pretty the necklace. Best wishes from Romania. Melinda

Hi Anna great video! What program did you use to make the eye for the prints?
I wanted to know how you cut it and if you used anything to seal the paper in the back. I don't like that it's exposed because it could get wet and damaged more easily.
Very beautiful. Where did you find the clear glass cabochons? Thank you

+Anna Fjellborg thank you for response. If you decide to sell the grpx would you please let me know. thanks
Hi Anna hope you dont mind me asking what snap button do i use for a 25mm glass dome cachbacon please xx
Did the color smear because of the glue (glaze) or because of the paper? Is that photo ( picture) paper? Loved this video! 💜
I've made these type of photo-printed cabochons for quite a while. This is a trick I've learned. Hi Anna, where do you buy your glass. Alice
I got the sealant, what was the glue?
A really great demonstration, just 1 tiny criticism the background music made it hard to hear what you are saying,
What size cabochon domes for a 20mm cabochon tray
Anna, Thank You. Nicely done.
How did you print off the pictures to be round instead of square? Also how did you get them all lined up on the paper?
Do you print on a laser jet? I have an inkjet and a lot of similar things say they won't work with an inkjet?
+Sharon Denning sorry for the late respond. G+ doesn't always seem to notify me about new comments...
I'm using a Canon MG5300 photo printer. From my own experience photo printers gives the best result when it comes to quality, detail and colour :)

Fantastico, mil gracias. Un saludo desde España
nice video, what paper do you use ?
Crystal DreamBaby At 2:00 she says she uses photo paper. :)
Crystal DreamBaby But try to avoid the glossy photo paper, because they can make the ink blurry.
Crystal DreamBaby The nun design sealant or any sealant are there for not making the photo blurry. I only use glossy photo paper, also used in this video :)

Do you know how to make other shapes other than the circles? Can you buy different shapes?
Lol Ill try to in a bit
What is on the back, and how do you finish them?
Monica Gueye Hi. Nothing is on the back, just the paper. I glue the backside onto something else; fabric, metal etc. to finish them off. I never use them plain so the back shows.
What type/brand of paper do you use? I can't get mine to look right. The pictures come out a little blurry/distorted. Thank you! Love the video!
+Brittany Headbang where did you buy the glass? I don't see it at Michaels.
+K Mcleod you can order them online on aliexpress.com
***** Etsy and Amazon.
THANK YE! Ye were fantastic! I encourage ye to do more!
Hi Anna!! Thank you for posting this video! It answered a lot of questions my husband and I had!! We would like to know what type of printer you use?
Hi! Glad you like it :)
I use a Canon photo printer.
Hello! Really great cabochons :) I just wonder, how do you make those pictures round? Idk, you do that in photoshop? Because I couldn't find any picture that is that round to print it :( Thank you very much for your answer

Thank you very much, I will try!:)
Good work. I see again & again.
What is the paper you're using? I see the same question below but not the reply. Thanks
+CJMacRury Canon glossy II :)
is there a way to drill into this glass ? or if I want to do pendants do I have to attach something to it? does anyone knows?

thank you :).. yeah I was thinking a diamond drill. :) very nice job...
Anna Fjellborg Just buy some glue on bails and super glue it on the back of the glass. You can get them on eBay or at FireMountainGems.com and most craft stores.
Awe cute video , make more. U did a great job!
I ger tiny bubbles when mine dry :( what can i do to eliminate them?
Alejandra Vazquez Hi. Push them out with your finger-tips. Can't say there's another way. It takes a while, but that's how I did it.
So I know this is old buuuuttttt... How do you cut it out properly? Also amazing video! This was really helpful!
I used normal scissors :)
Anna Fjellborg thank you!
I can't hear you. What was the first item you painted on the images?
Lorraine Brooks a sealant, Nunn Desing sealant is the brand I used :)
What kind of paper did you use ? Please
Photo Paper Plus Glossy, is the paper I used.
If you want to incorporate the glass cabochons + paper design with polymer clay, would it be safe for the paper to bake ?
Clay bakes at 235-265F, paper burns at 451F, so yes.

Mon B. Hi. I usually print them on 5x8" photopaper from the printing software. I used that size when I made a document in PS, saved it and opened it in the software. I have a Canon MG5300. That's pretty much all I do to get the printed size I want.
