I am so thrilled with this mold -- I just left a very long and exuberant review on your website. 😄Any plans in the works to do an oval version of this mold? I prefer the oval shape for jewelry making and I'll never find one anywhere else that's as good as this!

Hi Queen V! I know it, it's like falling down the rabbit hole, the possibilities are endless! The new chemistry makes it much safer, and our formula is super-versatile. Being able to mix up really small batches makes it much more efficient too, so you can have lots of fun creating :)
I watched your video as i'm trying to learn about resin use for applications on my car. Im just curious, if you have a hardened cabochon, and you add a layer, say clear and then another clear layer, will you see a line where the two layers meet?
Hello again Manal! I'm so glad you're enjoying our tutorials, you'll find all of the supplies used here: www.little-windows.com/pages/shop Thank you for asking :) - Fran

Hello Alexis! Yes, I only put clear packing tape on one side. The Special Photo Papers I'm using are resin-proof, so they won't bleed or run, but the clear packing tape lets any trapped bubbles squish out the sides more easily as I push the photo down against the base. Here's another video you'll see close-ups from above and below to see what I mean: www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/alcohol-inks-in-resin
Hello Max! In theory yes, if you sink a clear cab into new resin it should blend in pretty well, depending on the clarity of the original piece. I'd love to hear how your projects turn out :) - Fran@little-windows.com
Hello! Our Special Photo Papers are designed to cling tight to printer inks, and not absorb resin so your images stay clear and bright. You'll need to test any other papers to see how they'll react to being submerged in resin, and you can simulate that by placing a scrap in water for an hour or so. If it bleeds or absorbs the water, it'll look the same in resin, so you'll need to seal the front, back and edges with Mod Podge or another sealer, and be sure it's completely cured before resining or you'll risk a reaction. If it looks good after the water test then the paper should be OK to resin without sealing. I hope that helps :) www.little-windows.com/
Hello Susse! Yes, with varying results. You have to be careful to fill them the same so they fit well. For jewelry I like casting shallow ones in the largest cavity, then when I stick them back to back it makes a UFO-type shape I'm loving. SALE THIS WEEK! www.little-windows.com/

Hello! Is the paper you use for the pictures ready to be used in resin? I am wondering because I have read that you are suppose to use modge podge so that the ink doesn't leak into the resin.
Hi Liz! Yes they are resin-ready. If you're using our Special Photo Papers by little-windows.com facing up in your molds you DO NOT have to seal them. In this particular video we only put slippery tape on the face-down side to help bubbles slip more easily around the edges, not so much to protect these wonderful papers. Have lots of fun creating :)
Hello Gordon! Yes Brilliant Resin is water clear and beautiful when cast - either all at once or in layers, whatever works best for you. Thanks for asking :)
Hello Nina! I use either the Photo Cropper online at little-windows.com, or Photoshop. In this tutorial I show a demo using the Cropper, Microsoft Word, and Photoshop as 3 different ways to resize photos: ruclips.net/video/k2JEf70ThVQ/видео.html
Hi Tanya! You'll find all of these quality supplies and lots more project ideas here: www.little-windows.com/ Thanks for asking, feel free to use this code for 10% OFF your first orderL LW1020
Hi Edwin! It depends on what you're putting in the layers - if you're adding something heavy in the second layer, or adding colorants and you want each layer crisp and distinct, you'll want to wait at least 6 hours before adding the second layer. If it's clear on clear, or you're adding light or no embedments, you can add another layer after about 2 hours. Have fun creating and please let me know how your projects turn out :) fran@little-windows.com
I made my first batch the other day. I thought I followed the directions well, but I ended up with tons and tons of micro-bubbles in my resin, even after stirring slowly, letting it sit 5 minutes, coming back to it ten minutes after pouring... none of the tiny ones surfaced to be able to pop them. What do you think I did wrong?
+EmilyCLColorado Hi Emily, I'm sorry to hear you're having bubble troubles, could you send some photos to me - fran@little-windows.com, and we'll work to figure out what's going on :)
+LittleWindowsResin Hi Emily! I hope warming your Part A before mixing with Part B, then allowing it to rest until the bubbles are nearly (or totally) gone from the mixing cup helped solve this issue for you, please let me know :)
Hello Manal, so sorry for the delay. I'm using Brilliant Resin, here's a link so you can try it out... www.little-windows.com/collections/brilliant-resin-2 Have lots of fun creating!
Hi! You'll find this Spring Drill on our website little-windows.com It includes 3 sizes of small drill bits, and the collets (bit holders) you need for them. Here's a direct link to that item with a detailed video on its use: www.little-windows.com/collections/drills/products/spring-drill-new Have fun!
I wanted to now, can you inbed insects? In our garden we find sometimes butterfly's, i love them and for the moment i store them in clear containers. But i would love to inbed them, it is told i can't do it becourse the resin heats up and would burn the butterfly. I use them for drawing, i don't kill them, if someone would think that.
+Nancy Willaert Hello Nancy! Yes you can embed insects, as long as they are completely dried out (dead for a while, or dehydrated somehow). With butterflies it's tricky because the colors on their wings are actually thousands of tiny scales, if they are iridescent, this color can be dulled when you resin it, so you'll have to do a bit of experimenting. Let me know how they turn out :)
+Willie McCowan Hello Willie, so sorry for the delayed reply, your comment was being held. You can get all of the supplies in our videos at little-windows.com Have fun creating :)

Hello Carol! Yes you can by attaching 2 of these cabs back-to-back. It's difficult to hide the seam but there are all sorts of possibilities with this technique :)
Hi GothEmoBoy1, sorry your comment got screened out for some reason. To make follow-me eyes you'll need to play with the layering, I've had some success by pouring a clear layer, letting that set up, then painting the iris first, adding another thin clear layer, then putting the pupil on that layer, so it's behind the iris, that helps, but takes some experimenting too. Thanks for asking :)
Sorry for the delay, sure you can. I suggest mixing them with something like Pearlex or glitter to make it a bit prettier. Very best wishes :) Sale now at little-windows.com! - Fran

Great video! What size bit did you use in the spring drill to drill for a jump ring?

www.little-windows.com/collections/drills Have fun!
Do you only put the packing tape on one side of the photos?
Hello Alexis! Yes, I only put clear packing tape on one side. The Special Photo Papers I'm using are resin-proof, so they won't bleed or run, but the clear packing tape lets any trapped bubbles squish out the sides more easily as I push the photo down against the base. Here's another video you'll see close-ups from above and below to see what I mean: www.little-windows.com/blogs/project-center/alcohol-inks-in-resin
excellent ideas .. could you please share where to buy the driller..
Thank u so much
Q. If i set a cabochon i have made into another resin piece, will the dome disappear in the resin?
Hello Max! In theory yes, if you sink a clear cab into new resin it should blend in pretty well, depending on the clarity of the original piece. I'd love to hear how your projects turn out :) - Fran@little-windows.com
Nail polish can be used to color it?
Can you just use normal paper will it stay ok in the resin?
Have you ever tried to tur them into spheres by gluing them back to back?
Hello Susse! Yes, with varying results. You have to be careful to fill them the same so they fit well. For jewelry I like casting shallow ones in the largest cavity, then when I stick them back to back it makes a UFO-type shape I'm loving. SALE THIS WEEK! www.little-windows.com/

This might sound weird but can someone make a necklace with someones ashes?
Sorry for the delay, sure you can. I suggest mixing them with something like Pearlex or glitter to make it a bit prettier. Very best wishes :) Sale now at little-windows.com! - Fran
$28 is expensive.
+L Cook ese molds are really worth it. No mold release needed. The pieces come out shiny and not cloudy therefore no glazing needed. Soooo you actually save money in the long run.
