I like his idea of micro challenges and macro impact. It's never too late to take small steps towards breaking out of your routine and embracing new experiences.
I came for Tony Hsieh and found out it was a different Tony Hsieh. I'm glad that I watch the video anyway, because this Tony is equally inspirational. Thank you.
Same. Saw his face and said nah! not the Tony I’m looking for. But decided a day later I better watch, maybe he was going to introduce Tony from Zappos 😂 Loved the speech ❤️
Most of what comes in my day is mostly challenges of making a decision to do or not to do! Thank you for your inspiration, I will take the challenges then i will feel brave. ❤
Rip to an inspiring leader. Thank you for bringing brightness to the world. Your leadership culture inspires many and will for time to come. The struggle is a daily one. We must persevere. We are enough.
You did a great job Tony. Challenge accepted! I really enjoyed witnessing your full journey onto the red carpet. Can't wait to see what challenges you accept next. Keep in touch okay? Cheers man!
True. My sister sarcastically asked me if I was able to pass my degree because she was jealous of me being able to get into uni. I said with confidence that I would get a degree in three years which I did. Being challenged gives us a motivation to succeed.
Tony, you did an incredible job! You’re so inspiring. Thanks for doing something uncomfortable and in so doing inspiring many of us who needed that extra push. 😄👏🏻
For the first few seconds I was in shock😂😂😂. Was about to check if Ted specified it's a Chinese or Taiwanese (dunno what he was speaking) talk before he clarified
I'm 59 and I've spent my entire life in my comfort zone...why...because that's where I feel comfortable and safe. I can't see a single benefit of leaving it.
I don't mean to be insensitive and I cannot begin to fathom to put myself in your shoes. I accomplished nothing in life almost. But instead of accomplishing all these things and pushing yourself more and more to get out of comfort zone- which are all virtuous qualities mind you- I ask you a simple question: why didn't you drop everything and book a simple flight to Taiwan to be next to your mom next day? And yes you posted that photo, and had you did this real out-of-comfort-zone simple act which really makes a man instead of these accomplishments : how come you didn't riff on that? Great talk, but sometimes the most difficult things a man can do in life are the simple things.
Surprisingly, apparently no one in the comments mentions or knows that this friend Tony HSieh died in 2020. In fact, he apparently committed suicide and watching this video, the experience with his mother definitely marked him.
That's Fujian hua, which is spoken widely in southern parts of China if I want to be pedantic on the language's etymology. Taiwanese are basically those group of people who did not support the majority party that won and decided to flee to Taiwan and colonized that place. That's history, not apologist or revisionism.
A good reminder that when we see successful people, we should realize how much work went into the final, visible result
As long as it's mostly enjoyable and fun and not too hard..otherwise why is it worth it?

It wasn't clear did his mom pass away from the overdose and if not why didn't he book a flight next day?
Very inspirational!
