It's a b**** you got to like lay flat on top of the engine to get the right angle to get your arm underneath the brake reservoir and fight to shove this big Square connector through the rubber thing going through the firewall I had to cut my rubber thing with a razor knife a little bit
The extra white/black wire is for your smart hitch. And those oem sway bar 10.9 bolts are stronger then the grade 5’s that they send, I always leave them & boss approves of it
I’d like to come up on the l side of the steering wheel w my joystick connection guess I’ll reach out to an installation guy as you didn’t show that part.
@@dturkette Ford has a dedicated spot to drill a hole, left side of steering column. Basically right where a clutch would go. There’s a round foam cutout inside and a perforated foil cut out in the engine bay. I usually drill a 1-1/4” hole with a hole saw. If you have a trailer brake controller, it will require unbolting the module to gain clearance for a drill. 2x 10mm bolts
I connected the third wire to aux switch to have the lights on aux switch, it works, but how do you hook it up so I can put the lights back on my truck not the plow and still use the plow? Or turn the lights off altogether and still use the plow. That third wire sends power to the joystick. Like if Im plowing during the middle of the day, I want to shut my lights off, but still have power to use the plow. Great video by the way. Referenced it frequently when I installed my wiring this weekend
I would not mount the solenoid right on the back of the radiator like that. Otherwise it looks good. I've installed a few of these. I prefer Western's wiring kit, much cleaner install.
The thing that annoys me I have a 08 super duty with the boss plow mount on mine I don't use it just came with my truck when I bought it, and I'm not entirely sure how I can replace those bushings
I have a 2015 Silverado w/4" lift. Do you if they make a bracket that would make the mount lower to get the magic 15 1/2 so the plow itself drops level.
I’m not sure if they do but I know a machine shop could custom make one. I’ve definitely seen them before but not sure if someone makes it or it’s a custom deal
how you like plowing with this. did you get the 3.73 or 4.30 gears? might be getting a gas this year after only having diesels in the past. nice install
My brother colton plows with it, seems to be really good, it has the 3.73 gears and I think there perfect for the truck, if your we're going to be pulling over 10k often I might consider the 4.30. If your planning on pulling over 10k regularly I definitely wouldn't get a gas
Excellent question, I'm interested in the answer myself, I own a 11 duramax and I think that's the last diesel I will own, between all the epa clean emissions, computer controls, actual mileage and the cost of the diesel option and fuel price at the pump it doesn't make sense for me to own diesels anymore. @ CarsonSchifsky
I think its just a generic schematic they use. Different trucks require different light adapters but other then that i think everything is pretty much the same. Which two relays are you talking about?
All the wrong harnesses are the same with the power and ground wires and then your 13 pin control wire the only difference is controlers a straight blade can be ran with a v plow controller
A decent video, for sure........unfortunately, you may have left out the most difficult part! ......how/where you routed the controller wire through the firewall! As you know, these super duty's have NO ROOM in the engine compartment to access the firewall grommets.
8 Hours! Totally unnecessary, just remove the headlights and leave the battery and air box alone. You guys went further than you needed to, but good job, detailed.
ya that could have been easier, a lot of the reason it took so long was because 1/3 of the time was spent trying to film or retake shots that i messed up on so realistically someone focused could do it in half.
Under the steering wheel there is a rubber grommet that has all the other wires running through it. we drilled a hole in that and punched it through there.
Boss plows are great but the hardware truck side sucks ugly big chunk of metal hanging in the front of your truck all summer Not for me if I go off road ing that’s going to get hung up
Good work lads! High quality install right there.
how did you get it into the cab missed that whole install
It's a b**** you got to like lay flat on top of the engine to get the right angle to get your arm underneath the brake reservoir and fight to shove this big Square connector through the rubber thing going through the firewall I had to cut my rubber thing with a razor knife a little bit
That boss mounting bracket sets really low on the truck seems like it will bottom out on dirt driveway. Great install job. Thanks
hooked up a western wideout few months ago , was my second plow wiring job.didn't take me very long a did a nice clean job
Ya there not terrible this took a while for us because I was trying to film everything

You didn’t show how to connect the Teo relays. Can you tell me how you connected it please ?
I have a business and I’m saving up for a plow. Could I leave the wiring hooked up all year round?
Yes the wiring and mounts stay on the truck. In most cases they’ll never come off the truck once installed.

The RT3 wiring kit should have a headlight toggle switch.
Oh man way to much work for me. had the dealer that sold me the plow install it. good job.
It was kind of a pain...
Awesome video
Did this truck come with the snow plow prep package from ford?

ClarkW.Griswold00 not sure if this would help you or not. Steve
Have you ever had a problem when you lift your plow up and the headlights go dim???
Cool this didn’t help the least bit👍 never the less I’m still gonna buy a RT3 for my f250
😂 appreciate the honest feedback. The first video I ever made haha
This shit was sooo confusing lmao

Can you check when you get a chance inside the door jamb its on a label front axle rating.
Should be 6k I believe
Hey funny I have a boss from 2001 and that wiring schematic looks the same
Are those 2 relays down there
I think its just a generic schematic they use. Different trucks require different light adapters but other then that i think everything is pretty much the same. Which two relays are you talking about?
CarsonSchifsky when you were hooking up the head light adapters it looked like 2 relays on each one
Correct, the truck specific headlight adapters have 2 relays on each. (for this model anyways).
You know if the DTX IT'S THE SAME HARNESS?
should be all the same.
@@CarsonSchifsky thank you so much for you vid I save $800 just because you . GOD BLESS YOU
your very welcome! thanks for the support! we will be purchasing a DXT plow soon so make sure to subscribe to see more about that!
@@CarsonSchifsky sure I will subscribe.

What size/ weight is the front axle on the label in the door jamb
I wanna say 6k front and rear
Does the truck have the STX package? What do you have for running boards?
A decent video, for sure........unfortunately, you may have left out the most difficult part! ......how/where you routed the controller wire through the firewall! As you know, these super duty's have NO ROOM in the engine compartment to access the firewall grommets.
Easier to remove the headlights and grill, especially on the 6.7..
Did not need to remove entire sway bar...
Should have just paid them to install it now if you have a problem with it its on you
no problems here over 1 year later!
8 Hours! Totally unnecessary, just remove the headlights and leave the battery and air box alone. You guys went further than you needed to, but good job, detailed.

How did you go through firewall?
Under the steering wheel there is a rubber grommet that has all the other wires running through it. we drilled a hole in that and punched it through there.
Why wouldn’t you just pull the headlight assembly out
That poor ford will never be the same
God jop.
You really don't need to take off the battery/air filter
Boss plows are great but the hardware truck side sucks ugly big chunk of metal hanging in the front of your truck all summer Not for me if I go off road ing that’s going to get hung up
How many batteries are you running
