    Out here in the Great Pacific North Wet we don’t have a lot of use for snowplows but it always fascinates me to watch the preparation that goes into not just surviving but thriving in other areas. Keep em coming!

    This might be my favorite video of yours so far. Even though I will never do this, it was great seeing what was involved in modifying your truck to accommodate a plow. Anyone who lives in snow country appreciates a heavy duty plow that can open up a path to the main roads.

    Enjoyed it! So it's not the usual farm chores but it's still a chore that supports the family and the farm. I'm looking forward to seeing you finish up the plow.

He needs a farm truck...i just smiled and said," MASSIVE SNOW HUNNY!! Snow galore!! Hes younger than us..that is his farm truck!"..hehe...

    New formats, new ideas all good. At this point branching out into different projects alongside ''regular scheduling'', creating different contents will do nothing but good things; and keep bringing people coming in ( and give you a bit more creativity, now that you're a man of leisure lol ) If it makes any difference, I threw out my TV when I found this channel and the few like it - fascinating to watch how the stead is progressing and all the projects that'll happen. Thanks again for sharing and glad its allowing you to do it full time.

I’m trying to get a HTX V Plow for my Silverado and install it myself as well until I saw the process of wire install. With electrical being my weakness even though I’m very mechanically inclined, I think I’ll have that part serviced. 😂 great video btw

    Yes Al, we always seem to be trying to keep one step ahead of the N.H. winters! Our kitchen stove wood is in, but we have 3 cords of the big stove wood to get under cover. I am very impressed that you took care of the wire harness now. It is good to be prepared, with fewer last minute hassles. Thanks for the installation video! My little 2004 Tacoma is plow-less, but " Ruby" can make it up our snowy steep driveway 99 out of 100 times! A storm last winter, rained and froze under fresh snow. I almost made to the top, before the truck slid backwards, stopped by logs placed along the side. One of our Ford tractors had to pull it out :-). I still want a Kubota.......

    Really good to see your knowledge with vehicle electrics... most people haven't even heard of using dielectric grease. I don't like scotch lock type wire taps either, they are always a cause of issues especially out side of the vehicle cabin where they are exposed to the elements.... pity Boss didn't make fly leads and connectors to keep everything OEM spec.

    Nice clean install except for the scotch lock connectors. I absolutely hate those connectors. You will eventually want to cut and splice those wires in by soldering them in. Lot less chance of pulling apart or corrosion. But it’s good you used the dielectric grease, it will help in the meantime. As always great video!!

  • @littlewhitedory1

    Gooood Mawnin' Al! So in a word....Envious! I'm a diehard Toyota fan with an '05 4runner and past owner of more Toyota vehicles than I want to admit. Watching you install the wire harness for the plow both makes me want a new pickup as well as a plow to put on it! If only I could justify it! I have only 128k miles on my 4runner so I feel like I've only just broken her in! I have a 4.7L engine, I can't imagine the power packed into the 5.7L engine, must be nice. Is your truck like mine in that it's always in 4 wheel drive? I get 22-25 mpg highway and find it really hard to beat for 270hp in a 4 door with a V8. Lastly, what happens to the warranty on the vehicle once the plow is on?

    • @LumnahAcres
      @LumnahAcres  6 лет назад

      No I can put the truck in and out of four-wheel-drive. The plow does not void the warranty. I made sure of that before we bought it

    • @dppmm6567
      @dppmm6567 6 лет назад +10

      Donald Miller there is a huge difference in plowing inside of a nice dry heated cab with an 8 foot v plow and out in the elements with a 4 foot bucket that doesn't angle. I bet the plow is at least 5 times faster and 20 times more comfortable.

    • @donaldmiller8629
      @donaldmiller8629 6 лет назад +1

      dp pmm ,
      Well yes , but using the tractor does not require dis -assembling your new truck. And then carrying the plow everywhere you have to go .
      I used to plow with my small tractor , using a home made 3.5 foot plow that did not angle. In fact it only lifted about 18 inches also.
      I was always busy enough that I never felt that cold. But , I never had to drive my tractor to town with a plow on it.

    • @dppmm6567
      @dppmm6567 6 лет назад +2

      Donald Miller I guess it comes down to personal preference. I used to plow my yard with a small tractor as well. We get a lot of wet snow now and I got tired of being wet all the time, plus I like getting my plowing done in 20 minutes instead of 1.5 hours. It only takes a couple of minutes to take the plow off. To each his own I guess.

      Yes, the plow will easily disconnect, so you don’t have to take with you everywhere. Disassembly is a one time deal and well worth the effort for years of comfortable plowing. I would also think there would be some income opportunities. Excellent job on the install Al, I look forward to seeing the metal get mounted.
