Al, you need to go in the new pasture and collect some larger rocks to drop over the fence for the goats to jump on! Medium sized will easily fit your bucket and make a pile, it will help with their hooves and keep them entertained! Also, an old spool for them to jump up on.
I love when i see kids ridin on the tractor with their dad . I rem doin that as a kid with my dad . I just lost him 2 weeks ago. But i still have all those fond memories with him !!!!!!
I watch your videos for great info on homesteading ..i think you won my vote of favorite because you took th etime to make sure the pen is accessible to your daughter. happy father's day to a considerate and kind father
Happy Fathers Day!! When I was a little girl I worked a lot with my Dad! He taught me a lot about tools and woodworking. When I married my husband, I asked him to buy me tools instead of jewelry and I am a happy girl. I miss my Dad every day, but he taught me so much I feel like he is with me. Olivia will appreciate what you have taught her.
Your goat pen is very nice! I think I would add some of those big boulders you have out in the new field for the goats to climb on too! It should help wear their feet down too and give them plenty of play area!! Love your videos and watch daily!!!!
My friend has pigmy goats and they can jump 4 feet. My prediction...they will be out of there in no time because that pen is barrenand they will see all the lush greenery on the other side of the pen. Should have built the pen partly in the wooded area, but good luck, life is learning experience! Love to you all.

Goathampshire. Sheesh that is some gorgeousness. Beautiful job. New Yolk City has some stiff competition in the dwelling Dept. They might be bickering over who gets the best rental units. Lol. Great job.
I can't wait to see the baby goats, but I noticed there was nothing in there pen for them to jump and play on. Putting some of those boulders or tree stumps would be prefect for them, as long as you place them in the middle of the pen away from the fence. Good luck with your new editions and keep up the good work, love watching your channel.
You and your daughter have a beautiful relationship. She looks up to you for guidance, wisdom, trust and strength. I remember myself loving my dad. He also taught me much.. I sure miss my dad/father. He was a great dad and husband to my mother and I. STAY CLOSE. KEEP PRAYING TOGETHER the three 3 of you. CHOW from MICHIGAN LOVE WATCHING
Good morning Lumnah Acres!!! Such nice work you do. I have been reading the comments about goats being escape artists, in my experience if there are gaping holes yes they will escape. Good strong fencing IS a must. Babies can fit through small spaces and can jump and climb on the narrowest of spaces. But once they are grown if they are happy and contented they won't be prone to trying to escape. They love adventures and browsing. It seems you have a nice place for them and they should be content. If there are any flaws they will soon show you! LOL enjoy these smart animals they are such a joy and fun and the milk...........is out of this world GOOD.
Hi Lumnah Acres. Nice work, nice weather , nice video. My suggestion for the goat barn is a rain pipe system like you have in New Yolk City with a barrel and a swimmer valve(toilet flush tank style)for the drinking pot. Sincerely, tom
It is good to see Olivia working with you. That is one of the reasons I starting doing this as well. It creates a good wholesome way of spending time together. Also great job on the spring loaded latch.
Wow its been so fun seeing you set up for the goats! I'm excited for them too! lol! Just been catching up on all your great videos over the last couple of weeks. Loving the content, inspiration for my little homestead! Love from Northumberland, England. Xx
Congrats and what a nice early Fathers Day gift of goats! 🐐🐐🐐 Your building, milking stand and hay feeder should last a long time as they were built well. New England is in for some warm 🌞 weather.👍
Everything goat-y looks GREAT! I can't wait to meet the new members of your animal family! Olivia, you are an awesome helper!! Have fun at your dinner party. ~~Leslie
That wire you put on the door to open it is a good temporary fix. The Wire flex and brakes I suggest you use a steel rod the size of the hole that is in latch Bennett it a 90° and drill hole and then put it through the hole on the latch put a washer on it and put a pin in it and Bennett that way it won't come off make sure the other end is in the hole on the other side you can put a knob on it or Bennett another 90 that way you will never worry about getting locked in because the wire broke keep up the good work this is just an idea that I had thank you for sharing
Good Morning Al. You have the right idea about starting a goat herd. I have raised just about every animal, except goats & sheep. So you are the one to go forward first on this project. They DO like to get out, but where are they going to go? I probably won't get any milkers until I'm fully retired to the farm. Looking forward to your new adventure!
Morning Al Gina and Olivia can't wait to see the 🐐 baby goats tomorrow, just love how you guys take care of the animals. I'll have to call you Al the tool man ha ha. Olivia I bet you can't wait to get the 🐐 goats. can you? well I see it's another great day today around the 🏡 homestead God bless everyone same place same time tomorrow 👋 bye and have a wonderful weekend all together as a beautiful family you are. 🐐🐐🐐🐖🐖🐔🐓🐓🐣🐣🐈🐕🌱🌱🌱⛅☁🏡
Athea Nicholls I have noticed and enjoyed your comments always upbeat and and so nice on this channel and many others that I visit I find myself looking forward to seeing your comments 👋👋👍
I had an idea about the top of the gate post since you had to remove it. Could you make it swivel on one side and latch on the other so that if you need access inside again to bring or remove items, a swivel top gate post would make it easy. Just an idea. I always enjoy watching Olivia helping you work and build. What a blessing she is to yous! Can't wait to see the goat and kids! Thank you for sharing, Al!
I went to local big box hardware store today to pick up plumbing items for my new 500 gallon rain water catchment tank. While there I met a nice couple who were trying to find parts for pig watering system. I pulled out my smart phone found your video on your self-watering system for your pigs. They loved you idea that is much simpler than what they were trying to create. You now have new viewers who love your channel. Thanks, and keep up the good work. I learn new things and ideas to use on my homestead everyday. : ) Can't wait to see the goats!
You should turn the milk stand the other way will make it easier for goats to run and jump up and not have to turn after coming in the gate. Also its an old wives tale that you should always milk from the animals right side.lol! Good video!
Are you going to place anything in their pen that they can play on? Rocks, logs, old cable spools or something like that? Just wandering because they love to play and climb on things
Nice goat pen Al. Hope you'll use them around the perimeter of the property too to clear out the brush, but you may want an LGD to keep those bears away ;-)
I love how you include your daughter in your homestead chores and ask her her opinion on things. A lot of dad's think a girls place is only in the house with mom. You're a great dad!
Now I feel better about the goat gate. It can't be pushed out at the bottom. All that you need now are a couple of boulders for the goats to climb up on. But not too close to the fence ! One of the very best goat facilities that I have ever seen.
Also logs for making them a playground. They will be happier if they have a playground. Bricks to help with their hooves. It’s like a natural sand paper for their hooves
I was thinking the entryway was too low. You had some good help there, Al. I'm excited that you're excited about getting these goats. You will have your hands full when you do get them home.
Goats will have a great personality, especially the kids. You will enjoy them more than the pigs. They also are far more of a challenge. The goats are escape artists. Are you getting Purebreds that are registered? Someday, the Lumnah herd name will mean something. Be sure to lock up your feed, goat will try to get into your grain. If they do,not hey can bloat. Best wishes with the goats. Feed them well and milk at the same time each day and the goats will reward you with plenty of great milk. The milk can be made into butter, but I found that very hard to do. The goats did make good milk, cheese, yogurt and ice cream. The manure made great compost. I think the goats will eat the grass before it gets a chance to root, but hay being available is all they need. Be careful changing their feed very fast. Next spring, maybe you can try an orphan lamb. God bless!
Love the ‘spring latch’ - Can’t wait for the sign.... ‘Bahhhhston Commons’ 😉👍. Great Build...we’ve really enjoyed watching it...♥️ P.S. Great to see family working together, more of this needed in the world 👍👍♥️ Can’t wait to meet the newest additions to your homestead.
Everything looks so good. You’ve done a great job here. Are you planning to do rainwater catchment like you have on NewYolk City? So Looking forward to seeing your goats. Blessings...
Hello from Oregon 👋👋👋 I love ❤️ all of your videos and I have been a sub for a long time 👍 I don't usually comment much but I am very excited about these goats you are getting today I had some goats so many years ago but I will never forget them ❤️
If they put a pile of something for them to climb on too near the fence the goats will just catapult over that fence won't they? I have seen them head butt a tether ball tho, LOL. I think a big drainage pipe sunk partway into the ground might be a good thing for them?
oh, awesome your already getting your goats by the time i saw this. I was about to just say, everything looks totally ready, & it is all very nice & pretty looking. You do some nice work with your family. I really like Gina & your daughter, but I often can't hear what Gina says and I would like to. Maybe someday a new mic will find its way to your homestead.
I think no matter how ready you are there will always be new things you dont expect lol. We got two grown alpine girls a week ago one is pregnant. I chose goats with horns just because we have predator problems out here. The more submissive girl has tried bucking me lol shes also the preggo one so I suppose I can relate lol. Shes due July 6th (around that day lol). After watching Willow Creek Homestead Im not expecting it to be exactly on the due date lol. We have a mixed breed doeling whos now about 9 weeks old we werent expecting her until weaned but an emergency came up and her mom was put down so I came and got her early along with her brother temporarily (the girl who owned mom is a student and works on her farm and didnt have time to bottle feed so I volunteered until he could find a home). You would think goat equipment works for goats? I got a bottle from Aubuchon that had a special goat nipple but the bottle was massive (I think this was a calf product they made a goat nipple for in case you want to use for goats as well). They were use to moms milk whenever and how little they wanted at a time. All in all they werent even slightly interested and needed to be force fed at first. The brother kinda got the hang of it but they really didnt like the bulky bottle, maybe it was jut uncomfortable for me and they sensed my frustration lol. I finally got annoyed and bought a bottle from dollar tree. 1 dollar not fancy and they went for it.... Oh also they wouldnt touch formula. Since we dont have cows etc we could get it from or other goats we used store bought milk and they took to that eventually. The brother first. Our little Dawn is a picky butt. Well was lol. Eventually after a month she was willing to eat the formula I had bought for her and he was in his new home. She got bloat 2 timrs after eating grain the second frothy bloat. Its terrifying. By the way have milk of magnesia and regular strength tums (not rolaids or the extra ir ultra strength just basic calcium carbonate tums), and baking soda on hand just in case of emergencies. I dont know which helped her but they get bloat super easy. Too much lush greens if they arent use to them, mostly too much grain upsets their belly. Oh aldo if you have to bottle feed dont over bottle feed too quick between bottles that can be fatal. Anyway so mom an ex vet tech said despite baking soda being most people saying baking soda mom said it may be a bit harsh on her stomach so I tried the tums the first time and it worked. Also they are tasty so she was willing lol. I powdered it by crushing it and she licked it off my hand. The second time was frothy she had a few bites of grain and started having so muh froth and muscus slime coming up she had a hard time breathing. I made a baking soda solution (I didmt use tide gel like the internet said) with water and gave her a small needleless syringe full and after gave her a small amount of milk of magnesia through it and massaged her belly until all the mucus was gone. It went from being terrifying (Dawn scared ot of her mind too) to her wanting to eat the curtains (I brought her to my bathroom to do all this) within 30-45 minutes. I stopped giving her grain for a bit and only hay and milk and water (and some yard weeds she could get in 20 minutes each day, I limited her just to keep her from going overboard) through the weeks until recently. I watched her closely when I gave her a small amount and she was fine so she must have either been full from grass and weeds etc and the grain was over kill or maybe she was too young (despite everyone telling me they can have a little bit to try out at that age. About 4 weeks). You want to have those things on hand to settle the gas etc when they are bloated though. I didnt do exactly as directed but I used what I had and it worked with some rubbing of the belly added the second time. Bloat is no joke and it can kill quickly so be vigilant about it (especially if the goats came from some place where they didnt have a lot of access to free ranging grass, Dawns previous owner only gave them an hour a day, but Philo and Olivias previous owner let them free range and they knew when to stop). Its been a wild ride so early in. You guys are going to be fine I just thought I would share some of our scares lol. Phee and Liv are both about 155lbs each and arent use to more than one main person. When the previous owners would be gone for a few days leaving them with a goat sitter Phee would get testy of the main lady who took care of her when she returned. Maintaining being the alpha goat is imparative also making sure your kiddo knows not to be in the pen alone with them is pretty important. My kiddo dhares yours bday shes turning 10 as well on the 31st of july but my kiddo is pretty rebellious and Ive had to show her Phee almost getting me. I wanted her to see even to an adult we have to be on guard so coming out to the goats without me cant happen. Also like dogs they have hackles theirs runs across their back like a mohawk kind of and stands up if they feel threatened they seem fine with me now but when Ivy comes up they get that way, mostly Phee (Philo) and is followed with an attempt to butt. Im just being patient so they can see we are no threat. I dont let them get away with dominating behavior of course, I even had to grab Phees horns (to protect myself as they were coming towards me lol) a few times but shes been doing that less now. Once in a while she tries if shes feeling particularly grumpy but each day that passes is less. Hopefully one day it wont be an issue but i think its important to know even the nicest animal can have a bad day, may not feel like being nice and with big animals real danger is possible, so its always good to be aware of our surroundings... Now if I could just get Ivy to see that lol. Heck even with little animals, if we arent paying attentiom they can get hurt by us which isnt good either, so all aroundbeing aware is a good thing.
Yes noticed the gap under the gate but was more worried about them getting their head stuck or something. they can sure get into predicaments, like the goat Tillie on Weed em and Reap. That was horrible. They are good jumpers. looks good Al, I just want to see you fill that feeder.
I guess goats aren't diggers? Watch out for that Pluto ..... she may help them escape ~8^) I wonder if baby goats would want to play with Pluto? Have fun with your new goats ..... take care AL, Gina & Olivia.
We are getting ready to go and get the Goats this Morning! It Feels like we are kids on Christmas morning again!
Very punny :)
What song is playing around the 1:45-2:00 area. Thank you.
Oh, I just wait another minute...lol🤗I'm so excited for you !
That tire was only flat on the bottom... LOL!
Olivia ROCKS! Poppa is turning into an old goat and Mom just smiles at all her children.
Love your channel! One of my favorite things is how you get your daughter involved in the projects....hammering pegs, driving the tractor, installing the latches, etc. It looks like she is engaging and interested in helping around the homestead, which is the best thing you can do to prepare her to succeed in life. 👍
She can't wait to milk 🍼 the goats 🐐
It is awesome to see a family with morals and the closeness is fantastic. The best thing I noticed is you let Alivia be a kid and enjoy her childhood. God bless all of you
Al, you need to go in the new pasture and collect some larger rocks to drop over the fence for the goats to jump on! Medium sized will easily fit your bucket and make a pile, it will help with their hooves and keep them entertained! Also, an old spool for them to jump up on.

Hi. AL thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden bye 👋 bye 👋 👨👩👧👸👕👓🐩🐈🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐐🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
Your daughter has a great work ethic. 👍🏻👍. Good Luck with your new goats‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
My friend has pigmy goats and they can jump 4 feet. My prediction...they will be out of there in no time because that pen is barrenand they will see all the lush greenery on the other side of the pen. Should have built the pen partly in the wooded area, but good luck, life is learning experience! Love to you all.
You can tell Olivia is so excited how wonderful great job Daddy
Milktopia is looking awesome. ;)
Gaauud Mawnin Lumnah Acahs! Al, I can't say enough about your skills with Homestead structures, nobody should have any reservations about selling livestock to you! Happy Fathers Day, you are such a great Dad to Olivia and it shows in how she responds to all the Homestead events and animal care. Have a Blessed Weekend 'Modern Steaders'!
I love how patient you are with Olivia. Happy Father's Day (a day early)!
Advice for the fence gate is put the latch on the outside not the inside. They will figure out that latch if they’re larger dairy goats
Al i love all the wood work you have done in your property it makes it so pretty.

Olivia’s pic in the thumbnail cracks me up! 😉 So cute!
Love the area for the goats. "New Goat-shen" will be a fun place for them!!!!
Everything looking good! Have a great weekend.
Its pretty darned exciting to watch your goat adventure take shape.🐐🐐🐐🐐
I'm so excited! I can't wait to see your goats....
Excellent job on the feeder
The feeder looks fantastic. 🐐🐐 will love their new home.
🌻have a wonderful day and a better tomorrow🌻
When the goat gets tough, the tough get goating!
I’m so excited for the goats !

I find myself looking forward to seeing your comments 👋👋👍
Vickie Medina Thank you very much appreciated for the kind words have a wonderful weekend 👍😍
You are so positive! Would you mind looking at our videos?
Go pull out on the top of the gate post nearest the barn to level out that gate and the way it hangs.
Thank you for sharing, Al!
thanks great idea
I went to local big box hardware store today to pick up plumbing items for my new 500 gallon rain water catchment tank. I’m so exited to see your goaties! Keeping goats MAY be on of my favorite parts of homesteading!
thanks we are loving it so far! :)
You should turn the milk stand the other way will make it easier for goats to run and jump up and not have to turn after coming in the gate. Also its an old wives tale that you should always milk from the animals right side.lol! Good video!
Looking good n ready! Great job
Are you going to place anything in their pen that they can play on? Rocks, logs, old cable spools or something like that? Just wandering because they love to play and climb on things
He could park the Kubota in there. ChuckE2009's goats love to climb on his tractors.
You should put a water catchment system on the barn so you can water the goats easier.
Just an observation on the feeder is there a way to have a drop down side for easy filling of the feeder. It looks great as is.
Nice goat pen Al. Hope you'll use them around the perimeter of the property too to clear out the brush, but you may want an LGD to keep those bears away ;-)
Gooooooaaassssttttttssssd!!!!!! Tommarrow! Tommarrow! Fun! Fun!🍀🍀🌹🍀🍀🌹🍀🍀🌹🍀🍀🌹🍀🍀🌹🍀🍀
That looks really awesome.
I love how you include your daughter in your homestead chores and ask her her opinion on things. A lot of dad's think a girls place is only in the house with mom. You're a great dad!
You should move the hay feeder out from under the barn roof so the rain doesn’t have a steady wall of water flowing over it during hard rainstorms
Very nice setup . . .
Really wish you luck with your set up!
Another good job keep up the good work will be looking forward to season a new girls God bless
Now I feel better about the goat gate. It can't be pushed out at the bottom. All that you need now are a couple of boulders for the goats to climb up on. But not too close to the fence ! One of the very best goat facilities that I have ever seen.
You could turn the stantion up against the back wall and make a ramp to it
Looking forward to seeing your goat video! It's amazing how fast the piggy's are growing.
Olivia, you are such a great helper..
Hey Al. Where those gaps are I would put logs on the outside. Goats paw at the ground and will eventually dig a hole.
Also logs for making them a playground. They will be happier if they have a playground. Bricks to help with their hooves. It’s like a natural sand paper for their hooves
Rennells Suburban Homestead Prepping for Survival, or rocks, definitely!!
I was thinking the entryway was too low. You had some good help there, Al. I'm excited that you're excited about getting these goats. You will have your hands full when you do get them home.

Love the ‘spring latch’ - Can’t wait for the sign.... ‘Bahhhhston Commons’ 😉👍. Great Build...we’ve really enjoyed watching it...♥️
Hey! A use for one of the rocks! I am almost as excited about the goats as you all are. I can't wait.
The best tote pen
A cute SIGN hanging from that top cross board would be CUTE....love the sign New YOLK City...what would be a good name for the PIG PEN??? LOL
I can't remember: Are you planning on putting in a rain catchment system to create a watering system? Love the hay feeder!
good luck with the goats, i hope it all goes to plan !!
The tines for the Kubota are very cool... that is one very nifty vehicle !!! Maybe something a little tougher might be needed soon though.
Tomorrow morning should be memorable!!
I love that you actually consider tips from your subs instead of being offended. Signs of a secure, strong person.
I know I dont know it all. Lol. And it is Awesome to be able to get help from people who do.
Nice goat house !! Yaayyy, the goats are coming !!
whoo! Excited
It’s crazy that you still have to wear a sweater. It’s been in the 90’s for over a month in Texas.

Lucky goats :)
Goat count down
Baby goat like to climb on things and jump from them , are you not placing and big rock or. Stump so they can play with away from the fence?
Carmen Rosas Yes I was wondering the same.
very good idea!
Happy Fathers Day Al!
It feels like Christmas Eve waiting for tomorrow to come!! Very excited💜🐐🐐🐐
Making any goat cheese? Goatd are so fun too. Do we get to help pick names for them? After getting to know them a bit more, of course.
Don't forget the water bucket
Hello from Oregon 👋👋👋
I love ❤️ all of your videos and I have been a sub for a long time 👍 I don't usually comment much but I am very excited about these goats you are getting today I had some goats so many years ago but I will never forget them ❤️
Thumbs up Lumnah's! Can't wait to see the goats!
what about the watering system
If they put a pile of something for them to climb on too near the fence the goats will just catapult over that fence won't they? I have seen them head butt a tether ball tho, LOL. I think a big drainage pipe sunk partway into the ground might be a good thing for them?
Good morning sir....
Happy Father’s Day, Al! 🧔👨👩👧👷🏻♂️👨🌾🐥🐐🐖
When you get your goats, you might want to watch them carefully. I hear they can be escape artists
oh, awesome your already getting your goats by the time i saw this. I was about to just say, everything looks totally ready, & it is all very nice & pretty looking. You do some nice work with your family. I really like Gina & your daughter, but I often can't hear what Gina says and I would like to. Maybe someday a new mic will find its way to your homestead.
What kind of goats!?!? Guess we find out in a few hours!!
Congratulations on 30k subs
I guess goats aren't diggers? Watch out for that Pluto ..... she may help them escape ~8^) I wonder if baby goats would want to play with Pluto? Have fun with your new goats ..... take care AL, Gina & Olivia.
