15 Possible Solutions if your Android phone (Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc) is having a black screen issue, keeps rebooting or freezing, is unresponsive, boot looping, display wont turn on, phone wont wake up, etc then try these 15 possible solutions. Take note that I tried to stream line possible solutions for all Android phones across the board some some of these steps will do absolutely nothing. However I want to you try every step that you can. Please note that I have fixed many phones with these methods and sometimes it may take several tries before the phone is back up to par. So if you go through all the steps and it is still a no go then go over every single step a few more times. Sometimes it took me like the 6th or 7th time until the phone finally started working properly. Other times I swear that it must have been a combination of these
Please note that I am not responsible should something bad happen to your phone so do everything at your own risk. If you still need assistance please comment below. If one of these steps worked for you please indicate in the comment the number that worked for you, your brand phone, and what issue you had with your phone.
1. "While the phone is on" Press and hold same time volume down and power button until you see phones logo (may have to wait up to 20 seconds). If work then go and wipe cache partition next.
2. " "Plug phone in then press and hold same time volume down and power button until see phones logo. If work then wipe cache partition next.
3. " " Press and hold same time volume up and power button until phone reboots and you see phone logo. If good then wipe cache partition next.
4. " " Plug phone in and then hold same time volume up and power button until phone reboots and you see phones logo. If good then wipe cache partition next.
5. " " Press and hold same time vol up, vol down & power button until phone boots up and you see phones logo. If good, then wipe cache partition.
6. " " Plug phone in then press and hold same time vol up, vol down, & power button until phone boots and you see phones logo. If good then wipe cache partition next.
7. " " Press and hold vol up, vol down & power button until phone reboots and you see the phones logo. If good then wipe cache partition next.
8. " " Plug phone in and then press and hold volume up, vol down & power button until phone reboots and you see phones logo. If good then wipe cache partition next.
9. " " Press and hold vol up, home button & Power button until phone reboots and you see phones logo. If good then proceed to wipe cache partition.
10. " " Plug in and press and hold vol up, home button & power button until phone reboots and you see phones logo. If good then proceed to wipe cache partition.
11. " " Press and hold vol down, home button, & power button until phone boots up and you see phones logo. If good then wipe cache partition next.
12. " " Plug phone in then press and hold vol down, home button, & power button until phone boots up and you see phones logo. If good then wipe cache partition next.
13. 123 method-- If you have a removable battery then take it out. If you have a nonremovable battery then obviously leave it in and try this method. With battery removed press and hold power button for 1 minute, then put back battery and power up. If still not working correctly then do same thing but try to 2 minutes then. If still no go then try 3 minutes.
14. smack method- your power button could be lose, jammed or stuck. Smack (or hit) your power button several times. Keep doing this then see if phone is working. If not keep smacking also try to press power button in and out very fast many many times.
15 Take out battery if you can then use two hands and press on LCD very hard all over. If you have nonremovable battery then just keep pressing all over your phone with some force. I had several phones that starting working with this method but none of the women employees (except one) had strong enough fingers to get the job done.

After some seconds of trying this/holding the keys. My phone blinks a short glow every after 8 sec precisely like a cycle. What should I need to do after this? Pls help :((

Thanks a million. Step 14, smacking the Pwr button in case it's stuck on, was the solution. I took the side of a pen and slid it across the Pwr button with force, about 15 times, fast. It must have released the button, because then it booted up. It makes perferct sense. Thanks a million.

This works for me. I am usually very critical when it comes to these tutorial videos but this is legitimate and actually works. My screen was frozen and I press the volume and power button simultaneously and it restarted after 45 minutes of being frozen. Thank you so much and I highly recommend watching this video for android troubles.

I really didn't think any of these would work, mainly because it's an older video. But!! Wiping cache seems to have done the trick after rebooting with the volume, power and home button. Thank you!

try shutting down the phone and then simultaneously press volume up and power button.
then a command promt(or whatchamacallit prompt) giving you options such as reboot system now, wipe data/ factory reset.

Being on a fixed income and trying to keep the small things all in working order means the world to me! I found out that all I had to do was plug my phone up to my laptop. WHOAAA, game changer!!! I also figured out that because I plugged my CPAP machine into the same serge protector, it shorted out my base. Again thank you!!!!

I have an S22+ and the power up + power button combo saved me. When the screen popped up, I wiped cache partition and then clicked the reboot now option, and it started back up as normal, still have all my data! Thank you!

I wanna say thanks for this video, my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7, I was watching RUclips on my phone and it just played a electric buzzing noise for a few seconds halfway through the video and then crashed and entered a boot loop. Clearing the cache fixed the phone and it was able to enter safe mode and then restart and boot normally. Thanks for your video.

Wow thank you so much my phone froze & I imagined all sorts of downers then I remembered RUclips - clicked on this followed instructions problem solved in seconds - such relief with gratitude!!
I know this was like years ago but my phone just threw up on itself and you have officially calmed my anxiety- my phone is an android Samsung version 9 and it kept rebooting itself every two seconds and wouldn't do anything else- all I had to do was push the volume down button and the power button and waited till it stopped flashing (the screen) and boom its now fully functional again. :)
Number 15 worked for me right at the very end of the video. I was literally about to give up and throw my phone across the room. Thank you so much this helped out a lot.

actually how it went to in the state it is now .once when I was trying to flash it from recovery mode I by mistake took it to qpst mode and then a after wards it discharged and now it is that it won't charge,turn on ,does not make any sound and boom! I don't know wat to do and yes doesn't turn means it really doesn't go in recovery mode either any solution?

What worked for me was pressing on the phone and hitting on something soft. I was hitting it on my palm. It took about 15 minutes of trying the steps and then it came on! I think it's freakin' ridiculous that we need to troubleshoot a phone we paid around $600 dollars for. A reflection on the firms that put out this rubbish.

Hi George, this has to do with the phone owner's dirty fingers causing the power button to be sticky, constant cleaning with methylated spirit will keep the buttons in good order

You are right I had to do this several times but the 2 together finally worked. So I kept doing the one where you take the battery out and hold the power button did that about 3 times ; 1 min 2 min 3 min each time then what finally got it off the black screen and to turn on was the plugging it in and holding power button plus the down button.. also did that several times… thank you for your help on my sons phone👏👏💯

Thank you so much, I tried the first option and my phone restarted. It spent the evening looping the start screen but this morning it started as usual. I had done a power button factory reset previously however the phone still didn't function normally.
