i used to have a 1987 Buick Grand National i used to daily drive for 10 years in Indiana in the elements including the snow. I sold it when it reached 232,000 miles. I used to get yelled at for driving it in bad weather and i had other vehicles i could have driven.I loved the car so much i couldnt stop driving it,collectors item or not. I still got 4000 more than i paid for it even with the 200,000 additional miles. Cars are meat to be driven.
Beautiful work & craftsmanship! This is a car channel, to be watched for the automotive content, not drool over the host. I can enjoy the cars w/o worrying about the host's looks. She's enthusiastic and respectful (notice her hands behind her back as she looks over the cars?), I can appreciate that.
I see this on Netflix and get Blown Away. OMG.......I had to youtube just so i could say, HOW FREAKING BEAUTIFUL, the Car is the best of the best, PERIOD!!! I love your story of success, so cool.
I saw this exact car in the Goodguys Columbus Show in Ohio, and it is nothing like it is in this video. You have to see it in person to truly capture its beauty. Truly astounding.
Absolutely stunning car that almost scares me when I think about whats next from this shop.Elana, you look stunning as well and I am glad you are becoming more comfortable in front of the camera.
I agree with you 100%. I have a car that is being built at Hot Rods by Dean. It will be debuted in Pomona. For the first year it will not be driven, while it is on tour. After that it will be driven by the open course events and the Silver State classic open road race in Nevada. I will never sell the car. But it will definitely be driven as much as possible. I do you own a car that is essentially a model. Because it is a 1968 Super Stock Hemi Barracuda. It is used for drag racing.
Elana Nice yet again to see something different. Love the 40 ford! It would be great if you did a follow up on their other projects. Love your show Dave
Less is definitely more! I´m not "into" cars like these, but the attention to details are just astonishing and makes the car beautiful. Enjoy your car and keep up the good work!
I believe that its all the little details that make it so cool, certainly worthy of the award. I'm impressed that they drive it around though, over gravel and grass and well. I don't think I could do that with such an immaculate car.
I HAVE seen this car going down the road, got pictures to prove it.I talked to Andy in Columbus last year @ GG event.SUPER nice guy.As soon as I hit the lottery he's getting my 64' Belair.Bob Thrash even owned a twin to my 64' at one time.
I'm a bit surprised the guy who did the wiring got no mention, Jared Zimmerman. He left his own show ("Car Fix" with Lou Santiago, the original "Muscle Car" host) to do that tedious task, & CF's episode 16 (3/30/13) is mostly devoted to that bit & an awesome tour of some other details, like the machined bolt heads, all of 'em unique to this ride! Amazing work, & a LOT of it. Congrats to all involved in creating this beauty, just wish they'd floored that flathead in this vid, just once!!! :\
Around $15k+, *if* you could get a bit of Charlie Hutton's time AND have most of the prep work (filler, sanding, primer, sanding, more sanding, etc.) already done, so all Charlie would have to do is inspect it to be certain it's right, then spray & sand, spray & sand, then spray & polish, for days... Also, depends on the type of paint you want, some of it is also very costly.
huh.. a town.. i live in.. better not see this beast on the street ( 0:52 ). Glad to see that i live literally about an hour away from this guy.. Good Job :) i liked it
Awesome job and well done on the award. Its sad people can't look at a car and appreciate what has been done to it even if its not to there liking. To me there not car people at all. All there able to do is sit there and bag it out but have no chance of doing anything close to it
She's a little chirpy, and the camera work is a little chirpy, but these are young people. Their sensoria are wired a bit differently. At least they like Hot Rods.
People who need to tell you there car was made for driving usually dont drive them. people who do drive there cars dont need to say anything. Not really anything "hot rod" about this car, yeah its an awesome car, but getting trailered to one show and then parked in a vault isnt "hot rodding". Bring it back when it hits 100,000miles, or 30,000miles, I bet it never will.
Maybe you should get out of the cab that John Deere more often. After all, now that you have GPS, can't you just program it to run and go down the road for lunch?

It is always so inspiring to see an amazing team , fueled by passion and talent rather than ego and money .

The most gorgeous 40 I've ever seen. This car is smooooth.
this is a beautiful piece of art
Gorgeous Car, just amazing, thanks for keep the flathy...long live to the flathead!

Great Build Well done Gentlemen.
Beautiful work, the team did an amazing job.

Really nice car. I dig the shape that it has.
Those wheels do so much for the overall look of this car
And its a flathead too! I love that.
Absolutely stunning car that almost scares me when I think about whats next from this shop.Elana, you look stunning as well and I am glad you are becoming more comfortable in front of the camera.

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing the experience with us!
Elana

Love your show
Dave
Awesome paint.
Really wanted to hear more of the engine.
Great car and unbelievable even to think about driving it on the street. But that would be the way I would want it.
Well done to the builder genuine guy.
Beautiful 40! I used to be not into them, more of a 32/34 guy but damn is this one nice!
Less is definitely more! I´m not "into" cars like these, but the attention to details are just astonishing and makes the car beautiful. Enjoy your car and keep up the good work!

1940 Ford is the prettiest one Henry ever made love the shape of that car

Checkered Past is a beautiful car. Thanks for sharing.
I think I got pictures of this car, at the Goodguys car show at Del Mar this year. Those wheels were amazing!
thanks for this extremely enjoyable video!
this car is so damned beautiful!
A Riddler winner on gravel!!!??? Now he's got cojones!!! Congrats on a great build guys.
I would give anything to create or help build pieces of art like this for the rest of my life
And its a flat head on top of that.
No way!!! I live in Omaha and I've never even heard of this guy. I'll have to check it out. :D
Awesome video Elana, love the old school rides at the end
I've never paid any attention to the Ridler rides, but this one is danged awesome, and then some.
Gorgeous car. Definitely see the "Troy" roots. And thumbs up for Shop Dog.
Exactly right what I would build 👌 👏
Congratulation Ron at CAL!

Awesome Car Congrats I want to learn everything about this Trade
Dope that he actually drives it
The other contenders for the Ridler Award looked amazing. Must have been a very close competition
Honestly, that year hands down the 40 was the winner. It is an amazingly well done car.
so the road kill guys going to be in pierce Nebraska in September to that massive new old stock, car auction i hope i see you there
I wanna see more of the projects
absolutely, I agree with you 100%
Looks amazing
wow, car is clean AF. all to the very small details.
I live 2 minutes from Bennington and have never see this place!
thanks! exactly my thoughts
What a beautiful car... Awesome
Love that windshield
So glad this awesome rod didnt have a shitbox Chev motor in it !
To shoot paint, just point a gun, not much.
The prep work? Couple of grand plus. Prep work is where good paints lives and dies.
I guess no seat belts because you wouldn't want to go on living after crashing such a car.
What a cool looking car
OMG, those dogs are soooo cute!
Very impressive
Saw it at GOODGUYS Columbus
I would love one of these but they are expensive!!
Good for you...
The fact that the tuner guy uses a lenovo shows that hes legit!
Omg this car is beautiful.
Paint job on the engine reminds me of the Iron Man armor from the first movie
This is super cool car
beautiful
Pure beautiful
Air intake looked like Orson Welles "War of the Worlds" alien.
"see it driving by"? Are you gonna fly it to Europe? ;P
Awesome looking showcar, and like a showcar should (imho), it drives!
Amazing🤩🤩
huh.. a town.. i live in.. better not see this beast on the street ( 0:52 ). Glad to see that i live literally about an hour away from this guy.. Good Job :) i liked it
very beautiful
Very Cool.
beautiful car, just don't look inside. It's like a can of butterscotch pudding exploded.
good for you 2
Very nice
I adore those freakin wheels man!
good for you 3
Drive it on the road? It's got no plates, must be no 🚔 in Nebraska. Exceptional build, must be enough original parts left over to build another 40.
Hated this car at first but came to liking it....if only is was a little higher?
How much is it to get a car painted like that?
Where is Bennington Nebraska because I will drive my truck there right now
+chevyboy296 in Nebraska. lol :)
+falloutboy well no shit but where at in NE
Awesome job and well done on the award.

Another Great vid just one flaw with how you pronounced the make of the Ferret its pronounced Dayme-ler not Dime-ler other than that its all good
Cool
What is your opinion on F1 cars? NASCAR? Track day cars?
a mazda cx-90 made love to efijy
She's a little chirpy, and the camera work is a little chirpy, but these are young people. Their sensoria are wired a bit differently. At least they like Hot Rods.
I live near him! :D

This dude looks like Steve Kerr.
Maybe you should get out of the cab that John Deere more often. After all, now that you have GPS, can't you just program it to run and go down the road for lunch?
The laws do not require seat belts on any car pre-1964--
just tellin ya so ya know---
I thought flathead only applied to Harley V-twins
Why do Ridler cars see no street miles? Doesn't that defeat the object of a hot rod, having a fast car you can use daily?
It's almost perfect... i mean that is how i would built it if i would have time, money and IQ high enough... well it is not a jigsaw puzzle
Is that your Dad's big John Deere? It looks pretty huge and costly.
