I just picked one of these up last week. Mine came with a large loop lever, which I wanted. Everything else is the same as yours. Brand new on Gun Broker for $849.00. I also have two more all steel 20" large loops in 44Mag and 357Mag. Love the all steel 20" lever action. My 44Mag and 357Mag do not have side gates. Just the tube loading. I also have a model 94 Winchester in 45 Long Colt with a saddle ring. Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it. 🤠🤠🤠
I have this exact rifle...LOVE IT! Hate the factory sites, though, so do yourself a favor and get a rail and a 1-6x optic for more enjoyment. Great vid!
Put a large loop lever on mine, with a leupold 2-7×33 vx freedom with the hunt plex recticle in talley low mounts. Had to remove the rear sight, and put a hammer extension on it, with a simply rugged alaskan sling and cartridge carrier. Perfect hunting rifle.
I would invest in a better scope. The 30-30 isn’t made to shoot over 300 yards. A good Leupold 1.5-4x20 scope is designed for this type of rifle. Make sure you use scope rings that give proper clearance between the turrets.
I would be cautious abut buying a henry since Paul Harrell remarked that his Henry never worked right. I have much older traditional levers guns. 30-100 yards is typical close range woods hunting. For a young fellow that likely has good eyes the iron sights should work fine, Hammers spurs used on rifles carried through heavy, thick cover often end up getting cocked by contact with the brush and the hunter may not notice it happened. Walking around with a cocked rifle with a chambered round is not a good thing.
I can see how that could affect alot with this gun, but I sit and hunt I haven't stalked with this rifle yet but I added a hammer extension on it since my scope was over the hammer! Haven't hunted with it yet so I won't know for sure until next season!
Why not pay the same amount or even less for a real Remington made lever gun. Before 2016 they were J.M. Marlins even though Remington bought Marlin in 2010. Buy a 2016 or newer Remington made Marlin. Better barrels, better trigger. Wood to metal fitting same as the newer JM. Models. Don’t buy a Ruger made one, because the trigger pull is 7.25lbs. on the 30-30. Remington 1895’s are 4.50 lbs trigger pull. Don’t know what Henry’s are.
@@huntershaven No, that’s great. I was just suggesting the Remington made one’s 2016 or after because I have one and it’s excellent. But I am glad you got one you like and it functions well. Bought mine in 2019. The price then was $630 for an 1895 CB 45-70. 18.5” barrel, 6+1 rounds.
DUDE love this rifle. After I bought mine I never got another gun ever again for hunting close range !

I have a primary arms, three xmicro on mine. It’s very minimalistic and works great.

Agreed!! 💯💯💯💯
All depends on the area he hunts! Since he hunts in the thick woods the scope should be ok!
@bx9901 yeah I was gonna say all depends on the user. But maybe in a year he can decide if he wants a smaller scope setup
Yep I was just gonna say I can always try it out and see !!
That’s what I use
Gotta love a lever action. Something about it just screams cowboy. Great video
Everytime I use it I'm reminded of rango or the magnificent 7
Looks awesome man. Loved the video 👍
Thx so much!!!
I have the this in the X model. Love it!!
Nice video I have looked at big bore Henry's but not the 30-30, I will keep eyes open at the gun shops thanks
This is a gun worth having if you can afford it.
@@davidalexander8266 i agree!!

Couldn't decide between a Rossi or Henry. I think I got my answer 🙏
Glad I could help!!

And Paul is a great youtuber but he is just 1 customer out of many! I never just take one guys advice, do research and choose what you think is best!
@@huntershaven But apparently it never got fixed. Henry is certainly not as bad as the Remlins were.
A great rifle - needs a red dot - perfect for that distance
@@kevinwessling1434 i ended up putting on a 4x32!
What was behind where 😢 person was shooting?
Just woods!
Great video. You lost me with the belch.
Get a recoil pad it helps..
Your scope is not mounted properly, it’s rotated your using your windage as your elevation.
@tylerozzy4443 i took it off, using a 30/30 duplex scope now with no zoom!
I have a henry hoo1 and the finish is flaking off of it terribly pretty dissapoonted
I have the same model but it's only a year old, haven't had that problem if it happens, sorry to hear!!
I use my 22 it is a tool but im not hard on it by any means the finish is just easy to come off.
@@mikehancho1613do you have brass or the blued / black finish? I think all Henry’s have a lifetime warranty you should be able to send it back
Now if that doesn't look like a marlin model 336 or 30
It does lolll

that all can be true but I got mine for a deal that I could not pass up. Im no expert on guns. So to me it shoots just fine!

Umm...you shot a bottle....no distance..no ballistics....yeah ..nah..
@darrenfoley2672 not everyone has access to that 🙏 still a fun gun!
You're b-b-black?
@@LowIQPigeon RIP
Looks like the optic is mounted with the elevation turret on the side and windage turret on the top. 🫣
That was alot that took me a minute to understand 😭😂 I actually just got a 4x 32 30 30 duplex put on it to save me the range hassle!
