Hadn’t Marlin already released the 336 Classic by the time this video was uploaded? Yes they had. In fact I already owned one. So who paid for this video? The machine gun belt of cartridges surely wasn’t 30-30…
Rossi R95 Trapper is my Lever Gun. No hate on the classics, 336, Big Boys, Winchester 94, etc. If it aient' broke, don't fix it with the 30 30s. Rossi has been around for a long time for a reason, they are comparable build quality.
The old marlins are awesome. Ruger is also using all marlins machinery. Ruger is very reputable. It was very hard to find 30-30 ammo during the shortage. It's still not plentiful. Other than these few things the rest of the video is pretty accurate. I'm sure it's like this to get comments, so here we are.
So, I'm totally in awe of how stupid this episode is. Don't include Marlin lever action? The 336 model is the best lever gun made. What in the actual hell is the point of this? And no 30-30 is going accurately over 150 yards
Remington bought marlin, Remington went out of business while making crappy Marlins, Ruger bought Marlin and started releasing them this last year and they appear to be pretty good
"Like the saying goes, 'if it isn't broken, don't repair it." SO, BEGIN with a grammatical error & continue by prissy improvements on a rough, colloquial expression. Precisely: "AS the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." [If it's "broke", don't make it worse.]
And the winner is; The original, WCF 30-30 Win model 94. If it ain't broke, don't fix it ! - I have my dad's '55, issued to him when he worked for the FDIC in 1957 and no, it will never be for sale - it's family.
The Marlin level action either in 22 - 30-30, and of course the 45-70 . Just a note the Barkley family in the 1970-1980 tv series always used Marlins were most used Winchesters
Probably many more companies made them then Sears. But back then Sears was Sears. Almost bought an lever action one time in 30-30 from Montgomery Wards think it was. Think it was Marlin made them for Montgomery Wards to sell.
The 30-30 is still very big in our area here in PA. Really with the laural, grape vines and multi flowral roses 50 yards is a long shot. A 30-30 works very well.
I can't buy today's new rifles because i like quality looking blueing and quality walnut wood instead of today's cheap looking wood and blueing. Another thing, if a firearn needs 2-3 safeties on them then that person shouldn't be in possession of a firearm. I've been shooting firearms since the mid 70s so why do i need 3 safeties. Factories need to offer firearms with choices on whether a buyer wants 3 safeties or no safety. Common sense is my safety. I won't buy a new smith and wesson revolver since they force me to have a revolver with a damn hole on the sideplate. Again, if you need 3 safeties or even one on a double action revolver then you shouldn't be in possession of one. Firearms should only be made for people who have some common sense. If you don't have any common sense for gun safety then you probably wont have it for other things in your life.
I have two 30-30 lever actions a 71 Marlin 336 and a Mossberg 464 SPX. I ditched the collapsing 6 position stock and replaced it with a Boyds Straight handle black textured stock. Both great Rifles. I'm definitely surprised you didn't list the 336 but you did list the 464 because it has been discontinued since December 29 2021. Rossi has the new R95 in 30-30 two models a 16'' trapper model and a 20'' traditional length.
It does look like a nice gun. Think the extra safety on them is ridiculous. But do understand on why Winchester, Marlin, Mossberg etc... puts them on now days, cause some morons are just careless on loading and unloading them.
This video seems to be concentrating on new guns that are readily available- so I have no issue with it. Marlins are not up to speed yet on production. I have not yet seen a video demonstrating decent accuracy with the shabby looking R95, so I wouldn't have recommended that one either.
Rossi R95 30-30
Bought mine yesterday
Absolutely!
Hadn’t Marlin already released the 336 Classic by the time this video was uploaded? Yes they had. In fact I already owned one. So who paid for this video? The machine gun belt of cartridges surely wasn’t 30-30…
Nor was the M1 Carbine.
I have the henry marlin and winchester and I have to say the henry is the smoothest and my favorite but I enjoy all 3.

The new Marlin 336 made by Ruger is excellent.
30-30 ammo shortage was dependent on the state and gun shop.
Your comment on Ruger was not needed. They make outstanding guns. And quite possibly the toughest revolvers around.

Pretty sure marlin went out of business this last year
Remington bought marlin, Remington went out of business while making crappy Marlins, Ruger bought Marlin and started releasing them this last year and they appear to be pretty good
@jonny4641 Maybe they will have decent guns again. I knew something happened, but wasn't sure exactly.
Actually, Savage 99's are way better.
Not to mention he included the Mossberg, which isn't made anymore and was plagued with problems. The new Marlins look really good.
Didn't mossberg discontinue the 464?...how is it the best of 2023 if it's out of production
Have a Winchester model 94, circa 1965. Bought it when I was 18 years old.

(2:37~43) "...then THIS speeds & power levels are all that you need." [Righhht...]
In no order: Henry Winchester Savage Marlin

Ponderosa. I was in love with the daughter Audra, played by Linda Evans.
@@conanlive3784linda Evans didn't live on the ponderosa that was a different show she was in the big valley
@@Oldspartan65 You're right, it was The Big Valley. Ponderosa was the Cartwrights, Big Valley was the Barkleys. Good catch.
30/30 puts antlers on the wall
No R95?????
The R95 is well made, less expensive and a better rifle than 4 out of 5 guns above.
Thanks I like the marlins own 4 it should have been on the list hopefully Ruger will make one
Savage 99 in 30-30 is a great gun! You would have to find it used but they are Sweat.
Really no Rossi R95??
Back in the day Sears sold a great lever action.
Probably many more companies made them then Sears. But back then Sears was Sears. Almost bought an lever action one time in 30-30 from Montgomery Wards think it was. Think it was Marlin made them for Montgomery Wards to sell.
Sears Ted Williams was a Winchester
Ya well I been proven marlin beats them
Why show the M1 carbine at all. C’mon do a little proof viewing like proof reading.

I got a 1894 made 1907.26" octagon barrel.cant get no better.😊😊😊
Henry #1
One good thing about lever actions still and now days, seems like its the very few new rifles still can buy now days with iron sight on them still.

Rossi r95 is awesome
And I’m pretty sure 30-30 was impossible to find during the last ammo shortage, not sure why this guy thought it was still easy to find
Wrong
OK smart guy, not “impossible” to fine extremely difficult to find
@@jonny4641I can find it everywhere no problem. Pretty cheap too.
@@jonny4641you can find them where I live.
He said that you could still get a couple of boxes.
There are many companies making lever action rifles. Will Savage come eventually come back with the 99.
I have two 30-30 lever actions a 71 Marlin 336 and a Mossberg 464 SPX. I ditched the collapsing 6 position stock and replaced it with a Boyds Straight handle black textured stock. Both great Rifles. You forgot Glenfield. 😂 It would have got you around the Marlin situation.
Until you can't get ammo for it, no firearm is obsolete.
Longer barrel.more power and accuracy.😊😊😊
Mossburg makes a fantastic 30-30
It does look like a nice gun. Think the extra safety on them is ridiculous. But do understand on why Winchester, Marlin, Mossberg etc... puts them on now days, cause some morons are just careless on loading and unloading them.
Trigger pulls on .30 - .30's?
Why should anyone of sane mind want to kill that beautiful stag at the beginning???
Where is the Savage 30-30?
TY PP solid want one
Marlin 3030 is the best I have a 1955 336SS

The 30-30 is obsolete. It came out in 1895 - 128 years ago!!!! It's over the hill, Time to move on!
You must have a different definition of obsolete than.. literally everyone.
Yet it out performs the 300 Blackout in every possible way.
Tell the deer, the black bears and the wild hogs that. They wont believe you either.
You know the saying...if its not broken, dont fix it.
