Thanks man! Yes, a good portion of it was shot in 4K 30p and slowed down a little to match a 24p timeline. I’ve find it gives a nice natural movement to things without it feeling too slo-mo-ish. Cheers!
In my personal opinion, yes. The ProRes options are a huge jump in image quality, and workflow if you’re working on a Mac. I can shoot 4K ProRes HQ and not have to use proxies while editing but with the smaller h.264/5 internal codecs, everything has to be in proxies and it still runs poorly. Even the 1080p ProRes options hold up surprisingly well against the internal 4K. Sorry for taking so long to respond! I hope that was helpful. Cheers!
I'm looking to buy this camera, funny, I live in Bend so this was a coincidence lol In your opinions how good is the internal LOG codec? Is it gradable?
Thanks! This was shot in VLOG and using the Panasonic S 70-200 f4 for 95% of the video. The last location I used a Rokinon Cine DS 24mm T1.5 and a Mavic Air for the 2 drone shots.
When you edit do you make proxies or edit the original prores files? I'm getting a ninja v for my s1 but since I'm on windows I'll be using dnxhr instead. Just want to know if this is easier to scrub through my timeline vs the h.264
I typically just edit the original ProRes files because they run pretty well in FCPX. The only time I have to make proxies is if I'm using a Long GOP codec. As far as using windows, I'm not sure how well ProRes would work as I haven't used windows in ages. Even though you can use ProRes in NLE's like premier, I know that ProRes is definitely an Apple-based codec so it might be best to stick with DNXHR, which the Ninja does offer, but I don't ever use it so it's difficult for me to say which would be better.
Danilo Del Tufo Thanks! I didn’t use any autofocus for this video but it was shot entirely handheld. Pretty much everything is on the native 70-200 f4, except for the Day 4 portion, which was shot on a Rokinon CINE DS 24mm T1.5. I hope this was helpful. Thanks for watching! Cheers
@@CosmicDog Thank you for this video. I am looking to get this camera and thinking of starting with a few Rokinon prime cine lenses. Any issues with those lenses and the sigma converter? Thanks!
SO GOOD! Did you shoot at 4k 30 for a lot of the clips?

Cosmic Dog I love it! And you’re able to utilize the FF sensor and at least get a little bit of slow down 👍
i also have the S1 does the atomos ninja give better quality that has a point to give the extra money ?

Nice video! Did you use autofocus with S1? Is this shot handled? Thanks! :-)
