My youth, my music, my love 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍! Rest in Peace Brian, Mick and Steve! Long live Andy and keep on playing, thanks! Greetings from 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭
Steve Priest is one of the greatest bass players I have ever seen, I was very sad when he passed away. ❤
Remember watching Sweet on ToTP in the early 70s as a 5yr old. Blockbuster especially. Great times.
One of the greatest bass players ever. His playing on all the sweet albums was phenomenal. And Steve had an amazing singing voice as well
Imagine the sensation😢
as a kid i never knew which one i liked most Steve or Brian...Steve was fun to watch.
I have never jumped so fast in my life! Man oh man, l LOVE Steve Priest. You are on such a roll with this channel, the detail and depth is brilliant, and I can only imagine how much hard work goes into these. Brilliant! And so good seeing people like Steve given the recognition they deserve. I’m catching up binge watching today, it’s all so very impressive. Fantastic!🤗

@@MrsJHarrington Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it 🥰
SWEET FANNY ADAMS is one of the best rock albums of the early 70's.
Little Willy
Great guy, thank you buddy, (From Hayes, Middx, UK)
Great musicians great band pure and simple.
Полностью согласен.
As a kid, when you heard the start to blockbuster on TV you stopped whatever you were doing and watched in owe. The seventies certainty were some of the best times when Glam rock was born. I wouldn't swap them days.
I was ten and I saw The Sweet and Steve.50 years later and still love.
Ihre ehrlichen Songs wie z.B. „cockroach“, „no you don’t“ und „call me“ ❤❤❤ - einfach umwerfend und zeitlos schön
Another band that can thank Marc Bolan for starting Glam Rock.
My favorite member of the band, he was so cute 🥰 & campy in his performances. What a bass player & his voice! My young granddaughter loves him in his 🧚♂️ costume, she’s got good “sweet” taste too.
Thank you for this! LOVE the band!!
So glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!
Such an underrated band.
Such an “overrated”, term…😛
@@KittyGrizGriz LOL!
Ну почему, в России, бывшем СССР, даже очень оценённая группа.
Loved them, still do,the first record I ever bought with my pocket money age 10 was Teenage Rampage
Me too, I was also 10
Sweet is like oxygen
Loved my 70s rock and 80s metal.back.in day and never gave this band a thought, now at 53 in the last 6 months absolutely fallen in love with their sound, their whole thing
Massively underatred so sad I missed out back in day
They were great 👍 loved Fox On The Run
" Are You Ready Steve" ?
“Uh-Huh”
“Andy?”
“Yeah”
@@KittyGrizGriz Mick: OK
Прекрасный басист!!! Земля ему пухом!!!❤❤❤
Singer Brian Connolly and actor Mark McManus ( aka Taggart ) were brothers.
He was my favourite. Even though I was only 7/8 years old.
R.I.P. Stevie ❤
Keep on rocking and having fun with Brian and Mick where ever you guys are 🎶🎤🎸🥁
You are missed but unforgotten and forever in my heart ❤
Sweet ,heavy metal band !!!!!!!!!
Sweet we’re Awsome’God bless you Steve 🌸🇬🇧
🥰❤💕😍
He was always funny on TOTPs, a reaI showman. I wasn't too keen on their early Chin Chapman stuff, Led Zeppelin were always the landmark in my day. By the time they got to Fox on the Run and Love is like Oxygen I was more impressed.
Sweet were the greatest glam rock band of all time
❤ Stevie ❤🎸
What a fantastic video have a wonderful weekend ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😅😊
Thank you, you too 🌞❤
Well done on this, great video about Steve and the band, well recall many of their hits and still hear some of them on radio apart from playing my own CDs. RIP Steve.
Thank you, so happy you enjoyed it!
Would still liked to of heard them record a Sweet version of "Dynamite" even though they were veering away from that glam angle .
Excellent narrative. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Самый смешливыц7 парень и хорошенький
Iconic.
Zuerst " liebte" ich Brian, dann Steve, dann Andy und irgendwie alle zusammen. Heute wäre es Mick......
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
I thought it's Sweet, not The Sweet. I always thought they were kinda geeky, I never took them seriously.
Bubblegum pop, 70s answer to Stock Aitken and Waterman stuff. Smokie, Mud, Suzi Quatro, Sweet, all had the same song writers. I must admit I liked Blockbuster because when it was played at a match the crowd would sing along to the last bit, only you change the words buster, buster blockbuster to bas,,,,, bas,,,,, black ba*****d, it was aimed at the ref. I still sing it now when it comes on the radio.
Correct sweet
They started out as, “The” Sweet, then shortened it.
@@hardlines2635Bit slow on the uptake, wouldn't you say ?
I enjoyed this post, but I reckon more should have been spoken about his brilliant vocals/ backing vocals.
I'm a Sweet- fan since the early 70s and meet them all 4. Not at the same time...
Fox on the run is still there biggest selling song.
Any chance of looking into the life and death of geoff Betts A.K.A Al James or Bill Gask A.K.A Buddy from showaddywaddy?
Thank you for the suggestions and for watching 😊 Will do some research to see if bio info available on them 😁👍
We just haven't got a clue WHAT to do!
Can you make a video about the late & great Jean Seberg. She is hugely missed just like Minnie Riperton.
Brilliant bass player, singer and songwriter. Saw Sweet live - the original line-up - back in the day, They sounded just as good as they did on vinyl. I remember my sister's bf at the time telling me I'd grow out of them. I never have. They were and remain brilliant. ❤
The hits were written by Chinnichap productions who also wrote for Suzi Quatro, Mud, Smokie, etc.
Sweet was a nice Combo, but nothing compared to T.Rex. For this T.Rex is in the Rock n´Roll Hall of Fame.
Did little Willy go home 😅
I was in high school in the '70's and I loved the sweet. The reaction from our elders was epic . Lol Steve's gay nazi was over the top in context of the time and many bands from Queen to David Bowie nicked their ideas . Glam rock was something else.
I wonder what his grandchildren do ........
Enjoyed, just shocked about the large weight gain he gained. Steve will be remembered !
I saw sweet in 1972 top rank bristol there was a near riot they were fantastic harmony pouring I think little willy was out in more ways than one these old 69s 72 bands would have made queen and Mercury sound tuneless and brash
Uh huh
Who😬
The Who? Or you don’t know who he is? Ah, watch and find out, such a great story.
The Sweet would be nothing without Nikki Chinn and Mike Chapman who wrote all those great glam songs. They did manage to write 3 hits themselves but was never the same. Should have just kept their gobs shut and played the hits, but egos get in the way and never for the good of the band. Still 'Ballroom Blitz' remains a classic so thank you NC & MC.
At last. Someone in Sweet threads who actually tells it how it was.
Didn't he marry someone from Emmerdale
What was the reason for the weight gain, i wonder. Tragic
He went to America .
What difference does it make
Maybe he gave up drugs. But he wasn't exactly slim before Sweet started.
He died from complications from pneumonia not heart disease 🤦🏼♀️
Groups not bands band is what the Americans call a group
Christ, Steve, why so fat and heavy at the end of your life????
Christ, Ian, why such a judgmental prick, apparently your entire life?
Not many people know that Sweet were a heavy rock band and went with the glam rock theme but could belt out heavy rock music as well.
True - I heard them by accident on the radio in 1969. They did a Led Zep cover and they tore it up impressively!
I love Desolation Boulevard!!!
How I miss Steve 😢
