I too initially bought into all that, "Randy was my best friend" bullshit that Ozzy continues to spew. That Mrs Rhoads has to sue the Osbournes over what they owed his "best friend" really tells you all you need to know.
Yeah, maybe in retrospect he can say Randy was a friend. But while Randy was alive, for Ozzy, he was just a cash cow that revived Ozzy's career. What a F__king bully to sucker punch Randy. He's at least twice the size of Randy. You just never know about a person until the dirty laundry comes out. In the end, he's got to live with himself and that's punishment enough.
@@jameslanclos568 I'll listen to the old Ozzy albums for Randy and Jake's playing, but I wouldn't piss on Ozzy or Sharon if they were on fire now with all that's come about how they did people. Horrible people to do business with.
Randy put Ozzy back on the map and Bob was a key part to Ozzy's success through the years. Randy, Bob, & Lee should be millionaires' many times over for what they produced.
Without Bob's lyrics, no matter how great Randy Rhodes was ( and he was definitely a monster) Ozzy Osbourne would be irrelevant and begging for change to get a bottle of vodka.
Sharon didn't want randy to become more popular or else they would need to pay out the real star of the show, hence why we don't see live footage of randy. Simply the Osborne's are greedy.
well she did have the MTV show lined...Randy should have been playing that. But yes they are sit on live video as they try to reduce Randy to a sidekick status
Some truth there but when I think of all the greedy cheapskates that have screwed me over my whole life who weren't Jewish, have to say that the most generous person I ever knew was my Jewish girlfriend. She deserved all her success that she attained because people loved working for her because she was generous , kind, and hilariously funny.@@frasermalcolm2645
Jake E Lee was miserable the entire time with Ozzy. Especially after seeing his old friends in Ratt become millionaires after touring Out of the Cellar. Apparently each member of Ratt got a $1.2-1.5 million dollar pay day for that tour. Big money in 1984.
Musicians like Randy, who revived Ozzy's career, deserved much more. Sharon's management practices, including the exclusion of Kerslake and Daisley, are shady as hell. Jake E. Lee not getting credit is another issue. Ozzy claims he has no memory and that Sharon handled the business, but that seems like selective memory. Sharon and Ozzy greatly benefited from the various musicians over the years. All songs (music and lyrics) on Bark At The Moon are still credited uniquely to Ozzy - like he even knew what a chord progression was. Why people like Sharon on those talk shows is beyond me.
Ozzy is a liar, he could absolute tell her to make it right for people. He allegedly told her to reinstate the original Blizzard of ozz albums, But he cannot tell her to scratch Jake E Lee a check or fix the credits on BATM>? this guy cherry picks his lies.
@@russblack443 OK let's analyze that, Lee had to beg from his deathbed essentially to get those discs. He had to also sign an NDA that he could not bad mouth Sharon anymore in exchange...according to some. Do not give Ozzy credit for doing the right thing

@@russblack443 I really hope you are being sarcastic. Ozzy waits till the guy is dying before doing even a fraction of the right thing? Yea, he's a real hero.
When I was 22 years old, Ozzy Osborne was coming to the Sam Houston Coliseum on February 17th (1982). Since first hearing Ozzy’s “Blizzard of Oz” solo album, his new guitar player Randy Rhoads had become my guitar hero. I didn't know much about him, nor did I even know what he looked like, because Ozzy's album pictures really didn't distinguish who was who in the band photo. To this point, I had assumed that the dark-haired guy (Rudy) was the guitar player I had recently come to idolize. Anyway, my girlfriend Mindy and our housemate Chris quickly found a way to score some tickets for the show. I figured if we showed up at the arena early enough, we might get a chance to meet the band before the show. It was a warm afternoon in Houston when Chris, Mindy and I arrived at the concert hall. We made our way around to the loading dock side of the building to look for tour buses or any other sign of band life. The road crew had already arrived and was setting up the elaborate stage for the “Diary of A Madman” tour. Surprisingly, the atmosphere was very relaxed. We were able to simply walk in and observe at our leisure without anyone hassling us. This went on for the better part of the afternoon. As we loitered about the premises, I befriended Randy’s guitar tech. He informed me that the band would be showing up around 5pm to do a soundcheck. In the meantime, he invited me into a makeshift dressing room to have a look at Randy’s guitars. They were sitting on guitar stands right in front of me. Just feet away from my hands were Randy’s signature cream Les Paul with the snakeskin strap, along with three custom made “V” shaped guitars. His polka-dot V, white pinstripe V and a black one, the latter two sporting the name “Jackson” on the headstocks. At this point, I was not really familiar with his guitars. And this was also long before Jackson Guitars became a household name. Needless to say, I was quite intrigued by them. Luckily, I had the presence of mind to bring a disposable camera with me. I asked the guitar tech if I could take a few pictures of the guitars. He didn’t mind, so I began to snap away. Just as I was photographing the assortment of guitars, a rather large and in charge road manager walked in on me and freaked out. “What the f#$k are you doing in here??? Gimme that efffing camera, those are custom made guitars!” he barked. The guitar tech tried to quell the big fellows concerns, but he would have no part in negotiating any compromise. “Gimme the effing camera if you wanna see the show” he demanded. As a 22 year old punk kid, I was in no position to argue, so I reluctantly gave the Paul Bunion looking troll my stupid camera. The guitar tech apologized for the road managers over-reaction and allowed us all to stay and hang out. Like clockwork, the tour bus pulled into the loading dock at 5pm. Tommy Aldridge, Rudy Sarzo and Randy Rhoads soon stepped out. Randy was wearing blue jeans, a black pleather jacket with no shirt under it with a white towel draped around his neck. Absent from the group was Ozzy, who apparently didn’t do soundcheck with the rest of the group. I quickly made my way over to who I thought was Randy and asked for an autograph. Slightly unprepared, I only had a small piece of paper that I had found nearby for them to sign. Rudy signed one side of the paper and Randy Rhoads signed the other side. I managed to make some small talk, at first thinking that Rudy was actually Randy. Up to this point, (As I said, I wasn’t entirely sure what Randy actually looked like). “Man, you’re a great guitar player” I said. Rudy looked at me sort of puzzled and pointed me in the direction of the actual Randy Rhoads. Needless to say, I felt like a douche. Randy was very unassuming, soft-spoken and frankly humble. He happily complied with my autograph request. He had to lean the small piece of paper onto the side of the cinder block wall in order to write his signature. He simply wrote, "Randy Rhoads". After several minutes, the band disappeared inside the arena and we followed along like lemmings. During their soundcheck, I stood directly in front of Randy Rhoads as the band ran through the song “Mr. Crowley” in its entirety. Randy was playing his cream Les Paul and never sounded better. I was in awe that afternoon, watching this soon to be legend warming up for the impending show right before my eyes. Except for my girlfriend Mindy, Chris and myself, (and a few road-crew guys), there was nobody else in the arena. A few short weeks later, Randy, twenty-five years old, was killed in a plane crash in Leesburg, Florida. I was davestated. His autograph remains framed on my studio wall to this day. Also, a few weeks earlier on March 5th, John Belushi died of a cocaine overdose. You could feel a chill in the psyche of the masses around Houston who had just absorbed the news of both of their untimely deaths. Both tragedies were a stark reminder of my own mortality....Can you imagine what would have been captured on my disposable camera had i been allowed to keep it??? Jeff Dyer - Uncle Sally
Great story , nasty sub plot to those years , when you hear about the rip offs and phony comraderie . The band pictures are revealing . The players look sad , ozzy like a troubled idiot .
Sharon has reissued all the previous albums except Ultimate Sin, not because Ozzy doesn't like it but because she doesn't want to pay Jake royalties. Sharon is trash.
There is a youtube interview with guitarist, Bernie Torme, wherein he claims that he was enticed to play with Ozzy in the wake of Randy's death for $2000 per tour week, Essentially penniless, Bernie took the gig, flew to the US and was told by Sharon Osborne that his salary was miscommunicated and that he would only make $500 per week filling in for Randy. With all the $$ that tour must have made you would think the musicians would be respected and paid well. Not so it appears.

Randy Rhoads was worth far more than what he got. I was surprised that Jake Lee got so little as well. They really must have loved performing as the money simply wasn't there. All the members of his band were great musicians and should have been recognised as such.
lol, little randy barely deserved 100 bucks ! so over rated.. lol just a hired hand, never could cut it in his own band, had to bail and join an already established act as a hired hand...lolol
The last Ozzy album I bought was The Ultimate Sin. I never got into Zakk Wylde and his overused squeal. I'm not a fan of Ozzy. I'm a fan of Randy and Jake. Ozzy does indeed worship the devil. Because he's married to her. Rumor has it that there is pro shot video of concerts with Randy but Sharon won't release any of it because "it will cost too much money to convert it to digital". Really? People convert 8mm home movies to digital all the time without going broke. She just doesn't want to have to pay out royalties. Maybe once Ozzy and Sharon are gone, Jack will do the right thing and release those concerts.
That is exactly how I evaluated Oz Guitar players. Zack is a good guitar player but uses the sequels so much it gets annoying listening to a song he played guitar on. Good points you make. I will take it one step further. Jake was on equal footing with Randy. Oz was so lucky he came along as he was perfect for that time period. The Bark at the moon solo is legendary. I been playing for many years and still mess that one up.
I don't see how it would make good economic sense to not release a "Pro Shot" concert of Ozzy with Randy in order to avoid having to pay the songwriters and performers a smaller percentage for their part, because management would be depriving themselves of the Lion's Share of what wud be an extremely commercially successful video. Ozzy and Sharon would have made a literal fortune off of it, Randy would have been entitled to writer's as well as performer's credits. Daisely would likely not have been performing on the tour, so, wud only be entitled to his writer's credits and the same would be true for Kerslake, though he would be be entitled to far less in comparison. Which leaves Sarzo and Aldridgeand their performance credits. It was probalbly the same situation with the audio release of Randy Rhoads Tribute. It makes no sense or cents for Ozzy and Sharon to take those videos to the grave.

The Osbournes are notorious for not paying their musicians jack shit. They paid Zakk very little as well. It's pretty messed up! It's great exposure to be Ozzy's guitarist, but terrible pay. I understand why Nuno turned the gig down. The Osbournes really are NOT good people! Ask George Lynch about how he was treated by them.
They treated George like absolute shit. I think an Ozzy album with Lynch playing had the potential to be really good, but since I'm a big Dokken fan I guess it's better things worked out the way they did. The Osbournes are examples of those people who treat others badly, but for some reason Karma let's them get away with it.

It is so shocking to me that Randy Rhodes resurrected Ozzy Osbournes career and then his mom had to sue him to get what they owed him. Shame on Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon!
the lawsuit of the Osbournes by the Rhoads family is speculation....a lot of people say it happened. I have never seen evidence of it happening but it would not surprise anyone
Yes but Bob Daisley insists that Randy didn't do it alone. It was the chemistry of four of them. Ozzy was non-productive and continuously drunk. Randy, Lee and Bob Daisley supported Ozzy to get him back on his feet. Quiet Riot with Randy couldn't get a recording contract which goes to show that Randy wasn't the 'cavalry' alone, or maybe they would've been signed on the strength of Randy alone. Ozzy was 'the name' with the following that came from BLACK SABBATH and that helped them a lot, which is the reason they accepted a lesser royalty rate to Ozzy, but never got paid anyway. Randy was a fantastic guitarist with great song ideas and Ozzy had the 'trade mark' voice. Randy and Bob put most of the first album together musically and Ozzy's vocal melodies were creative and important. The lyrics are equally important to the whole thing as are the drum and bass parts.
@@karsguitarchannel6088 Yep. My take on it is that the Blizzard of Ozz project was such a (likely unexpected) creative and financial success that they decided stick with that formula for every subsequent album and just punched in new metal musicians as they went along that they felt could write to this formula. Ozzy is essentially a drunken, affable cartoon character with stage presence who says endearingly goofy things in interviews and on reality TV. And that's why he's a star and the musicians propping him up are not. In fact, Ozzy's star charisma and his prior metal cred with Sabbath is largely what the Ozzy machine is built around.
@@karsguitarchannel6088 am not saying Ozzy doesn't have star power. Obviously I am influenced by him, as are millions of singers and artists. I think Randy really didn't reach his Pinnacle until Blizzard of Ozz. The reason why quiet riot didn't get signed is because at that point in time he was not standing out among the many van Halen clones. Ozzy gave him free reign artistically and he quickly blossomed into a virtuoso
Many of the big bands owed money to their record labels unil they got a few albums under the belt. Uneducated people read about these performers net worth and think they have 100 million in the bank. It's just not true. The only problem I have with the Ozzy and Sharon situation is that all those great players like Randy wrote all the music and never got royalties.
David, You are correct. Both Joe Elliot and Slash basically tell the same story. Slash thought, after Appetite for Destruction finally took off in late 1988 world wide the millions would simply flow in. Someone put him straight. Simply put, if your album doesn't sell 4 million units in the US you owe your record company. Slash recieved $US500k cheque in February 1989. Duff said when Appetite kept selling the cheques became quarterly, and yes, that was after 1989. Starter Bands The instruments, record studio, production, mixes and very costly marketing and distribution costs a fortune. The 4 million mark was true. On the 40th Anniversary of Def Leppards - Hysteria- Joe Elliot told a similar story. Elliot said ' we were told that after 3 months after its release that Hysteria was a flop . . . and a costly one. ' Leppard owed Polygram $ US 3 million. But then . . . For some unknown reason Pour Some Sugar on Me took off. Hysteria began really selling and selling, selling and selling 12 × Platinum 17 months after its release. Elliot said " we went from looking like we owed the record company $US 3 million to making millions as Hysteria exploded worldwide and the singles also sold as well as sell out concerts across the globe. Elliot further said and as Slash also found out, the individual band members don't get the large cheques until 2 years after the money starts to generate. Bands who only had 2 × Platinum sellers mostly become reliant on long tours for sustainable income. E.g. KISS in the 80's
Yes, heard many similar stories like Van Halen owing their record company after their first record. Vinnie Vincent not joining Kiss because of how little they paid him. Trent Reznor not paying his band that much. I guess they are also a business and try to keep as much as they can for themselves.
@Sups614 The so called " Alternative bands" were the worst. Cobain Dave Grohl said: Once Kurt realised how much we'd be making, he instantly demanded a song writings royalties restructure. Cobain did write most of the lyrics . Grohl added that Cobain turned into a nasty greedy c # n t once the huge cheques began in late 1992. E.g for every million generated Gohl & the two others received about $150k ! Cobain's estate was worth $US 100 million a decade after his death. Billy Corgan James & Darcy had no idea about copyright royalties. Morgan deliberately hid it from them. Corgan bought a Ferrari in '96 for cash whilst Darcy and James struggled to pay their rent aftet the Smashing Pumpkins bubble burst and the touring money 💰 ended. D'arcy and James demanded their 'fair cut' and Corgan who was still raking it in, said in 1996 he would from 'now on. ' Only the first three albums sold millions where D'arcy & James received NO royalties. James refers to Corgan as a low lying c#nt and slime bag. Both D'arcy and James found our that even after lawyers advised Billy that he should at least offer James &,D'arcy 5 per cent collectively, he refused and made out they were so drug addled that they would overdose and had no idea about business. How low can you get ?
I got to meet Randy backstage at an outdoor concert back in 81. After thier set, they took some group photos till Sharon started to bitch at the photographers and than they had split up. Ozzy, Sharon and thier entourage found a patio table while Rudy, Tommy went back to their trailer. Randy was left alone and was sitiing in a road case having a smoke and sipping a strawberry daiquiri out of a plastic cup. It didn't look like Randy and Ozzy were buddy buddy,
what show?> their real tension started in February when he told them he wanted to leave and refused to do a Double live album with Sabbath covers, and half Blizzard of ozz songs. Ozzy has romanticized the relationship and of course now he is changing his tune saying Tony is the greatest., he is a fraud
Are you daft? Your comment: $300 then equals $1000 now. so Randy was making the equivalent of $52,000 per year. That’s poor people Money. Randy was NOT making a good living when he died, and that makes it even sadder.
Black Sabbath signed one of the worst deals in history of the music business. By Don Arden. Sharon continued that tradition by ripping off every musician in Ozzy's band. A vile human being.

For what it's worth: My guitar teacher in 1988 auditioned for Ozzy, and was in contention for the gig. Jake spoke to him, as well as others who were in the running, and told them his horror stories. No contract to start, with the "trust us" speech, being cut out of writing credits, Sharon's personality, having to work with a drunk, etc. guitarists were backing out left and right. It was his opinion that he started to look for, and found a guitarist, Zakk, on the east coast far from Hollywoood, as there was a better chance of finding talent that wouldn't be told the real deal of working for Ozzy.
I think a lot of people in the industry knew of the Osbournes and their lowlife proclivities but it was still a coveted job, people wanting to get a chance to launch their careers and also get better by playing Randy's stuff. Jake luckily got some leverage for Ultimate Sin. But it is pathetic to force a musician to sign over stuff because he is young guy with no money,,absolutely horrible, I love Jake's integrity refusing offers to go back to offer unless they credited him on Bark at the Moon, not even seeking retroactive payment
I always heard that Dolores Rhoads settled with the Osbournes in the early ‘90s for ~$300,000, turning over Randy’s image and songwriting rights. Ozzy & Sharon never talk or promote anybody else besides Randy because they are “Randy”. There cannot be a Randy documentary without their involvement.

ehhhh….that wasn’t the total reason. Randy was into other things. He wanted to go back to school and get his Masters in Music. He also didn’t like dealing with Ozzys drinking and drug abuse. Remember Randy came from Quiet Riot when they were struggling and not signed. He was used to being broke. Not to mention he made money touring with Ozzy. He was a contracted musician and got paid contracted pay.
A photographer who hung out at a rock bar we used to go to during the mid 80's did a photo shoot for ozzy and Sharon wouldn't pay up. I think that was the first time I became aware of her. Sad to think that Randy never got paid for the incredible music he wrote.
sharon also offered Randy a management fee before they were fired but he turned it down because he did not think he should be paid more than anyone else in the band
One of the first problems, was during the Blizzard of Ozz European tour, Ozzy sometimes performed two shows at the same venue. Daisley & Kerslake wanted double the pay.
A comment below reminded me that I tried auditioning for Ozzy when he had an open call for guitarists and Zakk got the gig. If I knew what I know now I would have never of tried. I never got the audition (I gave them my demo and photo's) but I have to say it went to the better man. Zakk was a total Black Sabbath fan.

I met Randy backstage one time when he was with Ozzy. They didn't seem like real friends at all, more like business associates. After they played that day, and after the group photo session back stage, they went thier separate ways. Ozzy and Sharon went to sit at a picnic table while Randy sat by himself on a flight case near the dressing room. There was no brotherly love there. It was strictly business
Ozzy may have been the star, but it was largely off the backs of everyone he played with including Sabbath. Randy changed the game. He was one of those once in a lifetime guitarists like Jimmy Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Tony Iommi. It is really sad that Ozzy made millions off those two albums and Randy, Rudy and Tommy made squat. Take those three out of the equation at that place in time, Ozzy would have been another washed up has been. That band is what revived Ozzy's career and put him in a place financially where him and Sharon were able to call the shots. Even the Record execs were done with him and all his BS he did from all the drugs. Sad when you look at the Rhoads family music school and everything they have. It is all run down and dated because they don't have a lot of money. Randy was one of my favorites. I seen him play a couple weeks before the crash and we couldn't wait to see him again. Still makes me shake my head to this day every time I think about his loss and how it occurred.
During this same time period I made $200 a night doing sound and stage lighting for a local semi-professional metal band. Ozzy needs to keep Randy's name out of f-n mouth. He did nothing but use him.

The isolated guitar tracks for Blizzard of ozz, Live. Mr Crowley and Diary of a madman are now available, I have posted them all over Randy groups. They sound amazing, even better without the vocals and other instruments. What a talent Randy was....
No matter what we think of Ozzy, we must admit that somehow he is able to bring the best out of his musicians. None of them have ever left him and went on to meaningful success. It's actually crazy when you think about it.
Judas Priest released their “British Steel” album in April, 1980. Ozzy released “Blizzard of Oz” in September, 1980. If he had titled that album, “British Scum,” he could have capitalized on the success of the former. Truly, a missed opportunity.

Randy is my all time favorite guitarist. Sharon and Ozzy ripped off everyone that made him an iconic artist and extremely wealthy. Ozzy could have never been what he is today without Randy, and the unbelievable players after him like Jake and Zakk.
Ozzy owed Jet Records two more records (in order to get out of his contract). Sharon decided to have Ozzy release a double live album, which in those days qualified as two records.

Jake E Lee was miserable the entire time with Ozzy. Especially after seeing his old friends in Ratt become millionaires after touring Out of the Cellar. Apparently each member of Ratt got a $1.2-1.5 million dollar pay day for that tour. Big money in 1984.
Ratt deserved every penny they earned with all them hits

He informed me that
the band would be showing up around 5pm to do a soundcheck. In the meantime, he invited me
into a makeshift dressing room to have a look at Randy’s guitars.
Tommy Aldridge, Rudy
Sarzo and Randy Rhoads soon stepped out.

Too bad someone couldn’t get those videos somehow?
Daisely would likely not have been performing on the tour, so, wud only be entitled to his writer's credits and the same
would be true for Kerslake, though he would be be entitled to far less in comparison. Which leaves Sarzo and Aldridgeand their performance credits. It was probalbly the same situation with the audio release of Randy Rhoads Tribute.
It makes no sense or cents for Ozzy and Sharon to take those videos to the grave.

the lawsuit of the Osbournes by the Rhoads family is speculation....a lot of people say it happened.
@@karsguitarchannel6088well also Ozzy stole Jake E Lee's guitar ideas.
David,
You are correct.
Starter Bands
The instruments, record studio, production, mixes and very costly marketing and distribution costs a fortune.
The 4 million mark was true.
On the 40th Anniversary of Def Leppards - Hysteria- Joe Elliot told a similar story.
Elliot said ' we were told that after 3 months after its release that Hysteria was a flop . . . and a costly one. '
Leppard owed Polygram
$ US 3 million.
But then . .

The so called " Alternative bands" were the worst.
Cobain
Dave Grohl said:
Once Kurt realised how much we'd be making, he instantly demanded a song writings royalties restructure.
Cobain did write most of the lyrics .
Grohl added that Cobain turned into a nasty greedy c # n t once the huge cheques began in late 1992.
E.g for every million generated Gohl & the two others received about $150k !
Cobain's estate was worth
$US 100 million a decade after his death.
Billy Corgan
James & Darcy had no idea about copyright royalties.
Only the first three albums sold millions where D'arcy & James received NO royalties.
@@FrostedSeagull Very interesting, thank you
I got to meet Randy backstage at an outdoor concert back in 81.
Randy didn't even own a home after touring with Ozzy for 3 years
Sharon took advantage of everyone who played in that band
Black Sabbath signed one of the worst deals in history of the music business. By Don Arden. Sharon continued that tradition by ripping off every musician in Ozzy's band. A vile human being.
From what I understand, Bob was writing lyrics for ozzy for decades...
Who knew?
@@robertneville9606 I was surprised, after all you know, but it was employment, but I couldn't imagine what the goos paid him, probably not much...but I guess , Randy isn't 5he only one who could have gotten the job done, he is just the one that did...
But it is pathetic to force a musician to sign over stuff because he is young guy with no money,,absolutely horrible,
I love Jake's integrity refusing offers to go back to offer unless they credited him on Bark at the Moon, not even seeking retroactive payment
Believe half of what you hear perhaps?
Delores settled for chicken shit money. Just like her son played guitar for Ozzy making.
This was a better world with Randy in it.
lol, little randy barely deserved 100 bucks ! so over rated.. lol just a hired hand, never could cut it in his own band, had to bail and join an already established act as a hired hand...lolol
@@TANTRUMGASM Hey,check it out. It's one of those trolls...🧌
@@TANTRUMGASM cool.
Now it makes sense why Randy wanted to leave the band. What a tragedy to hear this legend wasn't getting his dues!
ehhhh….that wasn’t the total reason.
Ozzy made a career off the work of talented musicians and gave them nothing.
After Sharon fired Lee and Bob, Randy made it known he was leaving the band after the tour.
sharon also offered Randy a management fee before they were fired but he turned it down because he did not think he should be paid more than anyone else in the band
Just discovered this channel this is a great insight , love the kiss related video too
You are very welcome, big thanks!!
One of the first problems, was during the Blizzard of Ozz European tour, Ozzy sometimes performed two shows at the same venue. Daisley & Kerslake wanted double the pay.
It's all about the rights & royalties,
Did I hear this correctly: Ozzy punched Randy in the face (12:20)?
Yes Tommy Aldridge witnessed that and then he told Bob Daisley
yes this is a well known story
Bob and Lee's parts were re-recorded by Bordin and Trujillo 20yrs ago or so in order to erase their contribution, i mean how low can you go..
you could forge the contract of a dead man to rip off his family not sure which is worse both are horrible
Randy was just as responsible for the success of Ozzy's solo career as Ozzy himself!
Ozzy's second band too Blizzard of ozz with Randy and bob Ozzy is begging back into sabbath
Great video thank you
Big thanks, much appreciated!
Wow the Osborne are blimey grimey people. I'll never buy anything ozzy again
truly a shame for all the great artists they ripped off
In many cases piracy is the better moral option.
Great presentation! Thanks.
Big thanks, much appreciated!
I met and talked to another guy who tried out and lost it to Zakk, Chris Impelletteri
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle Interesting. Another guitarists that smokes me, LOL.
@@ShawnStaplesFreeGuitarLessons met Chris at a radio expo where I ended up finding the Randy Rhoads after hours tape in 1988, the much coveted video. I asked Chris about Zakk, and he said we would like him, he 's good. I asked him if he were as good as Randy Rhoads and he looked at me and said: is anyone as good as him
I met Randy backstage one time when he was with Ozzy.
Randy probably made more as a guitar teacher than with Ozzy.
During this same time period I made $200 a night doing sound and stage lighting for a local semi-professional metal band. Ozzy needs to keep Randy's name out of f-n mouth. He did nothing but use him.
Those Ardens man..
Sharron claimed to hate her dad but she followed his practices to a T.
It seems Randy and those other musicians far outshone the trash mafia they had the misfortune to get ripped off by.
You should make a video about how Lou Gramm got screwed by Mick Jones the same way, except for being conviently killed in a plane crash...
1983 I was a classical guitar teacher and met Vivian Campbell and couldn't believe I was making 6x than he was making. I was buying apple stock at the time lol
ya but in 1983 he had just joined the Dio band and they had only released one album
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle he said Dio got 50k a gig and he got $400, it was fascinating that he talked about it. He said, you go do the gig and I'll go to your house and have your chicken fried steak. Really cool guy!
What a mess of legal battles, these ozzy stories are always fascinating.
That’s why I don’t feel any sympathy for ozzy or Sharon when something tragic happens to them. Cosmic justice at work.
Awesome upload!
Many thanks, great pleasure!!
My first job in 1985 after HS paid 3.40 hr, that was minimum wage then where I lived. so yeah 300 a week back then was decent money especially if all your food and what not is being taken care of and that isn't coming out of your check.
well, it's all in how ya look at it. $300 a week divided by 5 days is $60 divided by 8hrs a day is 7.50 an Hr. That was probably Factory pay, back in the day or a little more. He had to stay on the road touring miserably due to a contract & cheated out of royalties and then Died. Yeah, I bet it wasn't what he dreamed of, but he made incredible music that will last forever.
@bumblbesss
KISS which on effect was only Paul and Gene by 1983 offered Vinny Vincent $500 per week.
Minimum wage was $3.15 then.
Wrong..........!
Good points and true but… you were likely doing minimum wage work where Randy was doing maximum schredding and allowing Ozzy to ascend (and the whole organization). By those measures, he was woefully underpaid.
Excellent job !!
Many thanks Mike!!
Sharon also had Aldridge and Sarzo re-record the Blizzard of Oz tracks so that is why Daisley and Kerslake never received their performance pay.
No, Robert Trujillo and Mike Borden. Rudy and Tommy would never have agreed to that. This was in 2002.
I saw them in Dallas Tx. on the Blizzard of Oz tour. Great show. R.I.P. Randy.
No Dallas show until DOAM tour....
Why do you think Randy said he wanted to go back to school and study Classical lol
He was a Guitar teacher at 8 bucks a half hour I paid in 1979 I am sure he made great money Randy bought all those custom guitars teaching not on Ozzy or Sharon’s salary .
Thats some bs, $100 a week! He has had 3 of the greatest guitar players that has ever lived and crapped on 2 of them. Shameful. The more that comes out about them is disgusting
Randy told Ozzy he was going to leave. Ozzy asked why he would give all that up. Maybe he wanted to own a home one day 😒
If Randy was alive today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you know what tribe Sharon belongs to? Figure that out and you know why
Exactly 💯%.
The owners of the whole music industry you mean? The Star of David tribe? Is that what you’re hinting at!
The isolated guitar tracks for Blizzard of ozz, Live. Mr Crowley and Diary of a madman are now available, I have posted them all over Randy groups. They sound amazing, even better without the vocals and other instruments. What a talent Randy was....
Rhodes Daisley and Kerslake what a band!
Blizzard of ozz one of the greatest bands ever
No matter what we think of Ozzy, we must admit that somehow he is able to bring the best out of his musicians. None of them have ever left him and went on to meaningful success. It's actually crazy when you think about it.
Judas Priest released their “British Steel” album in April, 1980. Ozzy released “Blizzard of Oz” in September, 1980. If he had titled that album, “British Scum,” he could have capitalized on the success of the former. Truly, a missed opportunity.
Awesome episode
Many thanks Keni, great to see you!
I distinctly remember reading the interview when Jake said he made $100 a week when it was printed. Dang.
That’s factual, I still remember listening to Ozzy give an interview back in the early 80s to a radio show called “Metal Shop” and admitting it.
The truth is, Ozzy is greatly loved as an artist, but his and Sharron's alleged fleecing of the talent will end up being better known than anything else they ever did in the end. It's getting there already, but the damn will beak. It's worth a Netflix doco for starters.
yes by low standard people who lack for morals and standards. I could never love a POS lowlife like that. I like the music, love the music.
Sharon AND Ozzy
Randy is my all time favorite guitarist. Sharon and Ozzy ripped off everyone that made him an iconic artist and extremely wealthy. Ozzy could have never been what he is today without Randy, and the unbelievable players after him like Jake and Zakk.
Ozzy owed Jet Records two more records (in order to get out of his contract). Sharon decided to have Ozzy release a double live album, which in those days qualified as two records.
and ripped off Black Sabbath too. What a witch bitch.
12:45 it’s not ‘endorsed by’
Randy ENDORSED Jackson guitars (eventually). This is a common mistake people make with verbiage, and I’m not trying to be a dick-just to help. I really enjoy your channel. But when an artists signs with a company THEY endorse the company, and gear, not the other way around. Cheers!
Oh sorry about that, I think I messed up. Thank you!
No you know why I hate Ozzy personally. He screwed everyone and let his harpy do his dirty work for him.
The whole thing was a pyramid scheme for Ozzy. Ozzy made bank while Randy practiced solos backstage for hours. And who got Rich??? Ozzy did
These posts are why I use Internet thanks brother
Sharon: Ozzy is a very important man! It should be a privilege to work with him! You're worried about money? Be grateful you get to work with him! He's the star!
Ozzy: I'm a very important man! It should be a privilege to work with me! You're worried about money? Be grateful you get to work with me! I'm the star!
Gene & Paul from Kiss: We're very important men! It should be a privilege to work with us! You're worried about money? Be grateful you get to work with us! We're the stars!
I would not put Paul and Gene on the level of the two lowlifes Sharon and Ozzy.....
Ozzy being a musician who was screwed over by management himself, then condoning and partaking in the same thing is particularly despicable.
Very interesting about the DIO band about the salary of the band members.
Hopefully it will make fans that put Dio on a pedestal as "such a nice guy" see that wasn't quite the way it was.
@@incarnate6779 In a way, RJD and his wife had no difference with Ozzy and Sharon. Essentially, they are both personal band which mainly make money for their own.
I'm not sure if the naratror/ creator made it clear but bob is the man behind diery and blizzard records so much to my point that the song diery of a mad man is about bob himself going crazy at age seventeen, and I don't know where the naratror got the idea bob wrote bark at the moon, that was jake e lee
Was randy murdered? Did the Osborne and Arden benefit from Randy’s death?
How do ya think Ozzy is still kickin? Stolen years of Rhodes
Tip Of The Day: Don't fly with a pilot who's high on cocaine.
I've often thought that
Ozzy was pissed off because Randy was leaving the band. He knew that his comeback was all because of Randy's playing
wonder who has the rights to the 1987 live tribute to randy album ozzy released lol
Great video and context
I don't think Ozzy had any say in anything. Looking back, Daisley, Randy, and Lee wrote the hits and Ozzy was just a transport vehicle for the music to play on airwaves. But nothing could happen unless Don Arden took well over 75%. In the music business, the artists NEVER make anywhere near what the business gets.
he absolutely did, then you are suggesting he is the biggest mangina cuck to walk this earth. Any man who lets his wife run amok like that and does not have any say is a gutless coward and cuck. That is even worse than believing he signed off on everything which he did, Jake E Lee said he knew he was getting screwed over. Ozzy's quote in the press release about re-recording the two masterpiece albums. Randy, Bob and Lee wrote the albums that Blizzard of ozz recorded.
