Although i've always had some Ian Dury on my playlists or some 80s cd .. i never knew anything about his personality or some of his lesser popular songs. Really amazed by his authenticity in musical style, taste. What a character i really missed out on.

I always liked their version of Baby It's You. Humor: They beat Morrisey to the punch (haha). I grew up near North Hollywood, California. I watched the Blues Brothers on TV for the umpteenth time this past weekend. I thought of these artists to profile: John Lee Hooker, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, "Ducks" Dunn, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, and Alan Rubin (aka Mr Fabulous). I used to watch American Bandstand as a kid all the time. FYI it was our version of Britain's Top Of The Pops. Have a nice Christmas

The first one - Danny, said “There’s this bloke who lives in my block of flats and he can really play the electric guitar - I mean “really” play”. His mate said “Have you spoken to him? What’s his name? Is he in a band?” Danny said “He’s very shy. When I pass him on the stairs, he doesn’t look up or say hello. Keeps himself to himself. But I reckon that one day he will be big”. Fast forward to a BBC TV programme on Peter Green and his life. The production team go to a block of flats in Old Bethnal Green Road, London E.2. to show where Peter Green(baum) - (and Danny from my old school) grew up. Lots of Jewish immigrants with the family names Greenberg, Greenstein, Greenbaum etc. who came to the U.K.changed their name to just “Green” as it sounded “more English”.Thanks again. Wrong they could not write songs tom Springfield wrote their hits, Judith was the heart and soul of the seekers, she did the right thing going solo, but went back to celebrate 25 and 50 years anniversary, the boys were great lads but were really a backing band, deep down they must have known that so Judith never did the dirty on them, she was to humble for that.

i was born and brought up in Worthing. We used to go to the annual pantomime at the Connaught Theatre. They always had a star turn in the second half while the sets were being redone. one year was Alma Cogan!. Probably around 1962 - I was only 11, and my parents were not up with current trends! never knew she was essentially at home then.

Unfortunately it’s not uncommon for artists of all kinds to be uncredited, exploited, forgotten, or in other ways misused. Its terrible to hear of someone treated badly professionally. She had such a varied life and career, I still have the Trent and Hatch version of The Two Of Us on a playlist! Excellent video my friend 🤗

Peter had so much in common with Syd Barrett. Mental issues, drugs, and, at least with Syd, he loved music a lot, but hated the never-ending demands of the "business" side of the music world.
