Here is the Full disassembly video for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. If you need to replace your screen, your charging port, or battery, this video shows how I personally took apart my phone. A repair always makes more sense after you've seen it done by someone else. And that is what makes RUclips an awesome place!
This video is for the people who want to see whats inside the Galaxy Note 7. Tearing down the Note 7 is very similar to the Note 5, as well as the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S6. Samsung hasn't changed their overall design in a few generations. But that's totally fine, because this design is working out pretty well. While it still sucks to open up, the phone is extremely durable, (Minus the easy scratching part.)

It's funny cause none of the old Nokia or Sony Ericson phones had 3.5mm jacks. They all had some propriety connection or 2.5 mm jack at best.

you see, the frame is that big firstable because it helps to hold the whole phone together since the phone is nearly bezel-free. makes it also stronger. secondable the phone has an internal heatpipe the "big" aluminium frame helps the heat to spread a little, that way we dont feel the phone heating up fast.

🤣 - In todays repariblity score I would give this an 8 - My brother kept is OG Note 7 and just replaced the battery with a Note Fan Edition one when Samsung was still selling original parts for their phones!! Remember those days!!!
@@megatronskneecap really wish i could find a new fe battery. They are extremely hard to find, I purchased a fe battery from aliexpess but it started to expand so i reinstalled the stock battery.
My other note 7 doesn't have a battery so a new fe battery for that.

To separate use a Dunlop Tortex Guitar Pick .50 is perfect especially if you play guitar and you manage to wear a edge! They're not petroleum based so they don't like to melt and they don't like to crack, strong yet very bendable...

Hey Zack, it would really fun to watch a BTS of your setup. Your macro shots are brilliant, it is post processing zoom or just during filming you do it? I am pretty sure you add the voiceover later but the shots for such small subjects are really well done.
I want to do one of those soon. Ill show my editing process and everything. BUT Here is my setup tour: ruclips.net/video/bhqGusge0NE/видео.html The close up shots are made easy by my 4K camera (GH4). There are just a ton of pixels to work with, so I can crop in 300% and still have a decent image. And ya, voiceover is done after the first rough edit, and then I edit to the voiceover once more to finish it off.

With all the metal in the phone, it seems like some magnets should be able to hold it up, was going to make my own qi car charger with magnets. Do you think using powerful magnets would hurt the Note 7?

From what I've seen in other vides, the most problematic thing is that the glass cracks easily in corners and on sides, where it is bend. Especially in the corners, as those are the points most likely to hit ground, when dropped. Also it seems that the back glass is way more fragile then then front one. So it's not even more crack resistant.

Samsung's are getting harder to repair. I wish Samsung used a screw mechanism like that on the iPhone. I don't know whether it's possible to create a water proof design out of that but it sure is getting harder for the casual DIY repair :/

If you plan to do a water proofing test, can you include dropping it into a creek and not just using tap or bottle water? I want to know how it holds up to every day life when it's dropped in water. Since I don't live near the ocean the only water issues I are lakes and rivers (creeks). Thanks!

wow, you made amazing video! Samsung makes good steps in constructing their phones, really big improvement about hardware buttons under the screen, which was connected with changing port.
I miss the old Nokia days when anyone familiar with putting 2 Lego blocks together had all the skill you need to repair them.
LOL...... the Apple burn with the 3.5mm jack comment. BUT................. a headphone jack is more of a personal music player feature than a phone feature. When phones first came out they didn't have a 3.5mm jack. The 3.5mm jack didn't find its way onto a phone until they implemented the music player into the phone. So, saying a phone isn't a phone without a 3.5mm jack is complete horsehit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A "phone" doesn't need a 3.5mm jack.

so hope this will make people shut their mouths about Samsung's plastic home button just look at the quality of parts and tear-down of this amazing phone just like the Galaxy S7 Edge ridiculously well-built worth every penny latest and greatest hardware and software Samsung does things right!! you can easily see the quality difference between the screen and Hardware in the premium phone like this versus the budget 1 + 3 in other budget phones
Couple things, i would recommend using guitar picks instead of your iseasmo, it'll help prevent the silver back from coming off the back. and heres a pro tip for ya! as you start taking the screen off dribble some 99% iso alcohol in there, and it will separate the adhesive, its a little messy but will provide a MUCH better result than the old fashioned heat and pry method
