@@brettconnor1959 Hey Brett! I spent 42 years in Mountain Village on the Yukon River. I have another channel called yjimagery or search yukonjeff if you want to see my Alaskan life.
Oh, so your stove is outside on the patio? So you do all your cooking out there? How long have you been in the Philippines now? How do you like it so far?
@@ShikokuFoodForest Yes the gas stove was out on the patio. I like that set up. As far as the Philippines, I recently moved to Hua Hin Thailand and truly love it here. I dont think I will go back to the Philippines it’s much nicer here. I have some shorts uploaded on it if you check my channel.
@@AlaskaninThePhilippines Oh, ok, thanks. I’ll look at your shorts on your channel. That’s so interesting! I’ve been getting some negative impressions of the Philippines recently from a RUclipsr talking about all the pollution, poor air quality, noise, smoke, poverty and garbage everywhere + the horrible food (Sorry if I’m offending any Filipinos). How significant are these negatives in your opinion?? My impression is people choose the Philippines for the ease of tourist visa renewal up to 3 years and being able to easily communicate in English. How easy is visa renewal in Thailand, being able to communicate and overall cost of living relative to the Philippines?? Is the food quality much better?? My impression is the Philippines is experiencing rapid inflation so value for our dollar seems to be getting lower and lower there.
@@AlaskaninThePhilippines Hi again. I’ve also been hearing good things about Vietnam too. Have you been to Vietnam?? Which country is better in your opinion? It would be great if you do a video on comparing countries in SEA.
@@ShikokuFoodForest I would agree with everything that he quoted as far as negatives. Now with the rapid inflation a jar of peanut butter is $10.
I think this Thai food is unbeatable anywhere in the world. I talked with two world travelers and they both said Hua Hin was the nicest place they have ever been.
@@ShikokuFoodForest I had plans to visit Danang sometime probably when I have to do a border run. I heard it’s nice there too in the expat areas. I have not been there yet.
How do you like geo blue?
@@bigtime911 Thankfully I never got to use it but it did have good reviews. That said,Hospitals there don’t take it. It’s a reimbursement deal you have to pay first.
Thanks for the video. Can I ask how old are you? Me & my wife are possibly looking to retire in the Phillipines. She is Filipina, but born in America.
@@jbitakis Yes, I am 62. Try visit first and see how it fits for you both . Good luck !
rent is overpriced
@@dardaraveiga6512 I agree. Pretty noisy too near the road.
I eat SM own brand peanut butter cheaper than Jiffy and tastes better, why not get yourself a bread toaster.
@@Edith-t4j That’s all I could find there that had a large jar.
Yay!😅😅😅
why are you talking to the lower left corner? LOOK AT THE LENS, not the screen
Just an FYI. Your light bulb is burnt out in your fridge! 😊
@@foreignerescapestothephi-lj3ls lol it’s been that way since I moved in. I always wonder why they never put one in the freezer too.
Good morning, im headed to Dumaguete from cebu soon, can you tell me the name of apartment? Id love to rent a unit verified by a fellow American. Im from Colorado. Any affordable apartment recommendations would be appreciated?

@@Philippine-Life the place is called Dumaguete studio apartments it’s in Caunda at out the main town up half way to Velencia off Palipinan road
I wonder why many Westerners (in this case Americans) go to live in the Philippines.
1. Is it mainly because of economics?
2. Climate
3. Chance of finding a "younger" low maintenance partner
4. The thrill of going native
5. All of the above
@@4rct1c9Ic3m4n I would say all of the above. I would also add 6. Getting out of a woke county being flooded with illegals by our government. Sad times in the west.
@@AlaskaninThePhilippines Tnx for the reply. I wonder if there are illegals in the Philippines or maybe that's generally an American phenomenon
usually its number 1 and 3.
very often i see older male foreigner with a very young filipina. its a way of life i guess.
I think #1 might actually be that the Filipino people are the nicest and kindest in the whole world

@@AlaskaninThePhilippines wow enjoy
You get a gf, and you can triple the budget
3 weeks ago you were giving a tour of you apartment and your budget acting like everything was good and all of a sudden the Philippines sucks and Thailand is much better? Sounds like that girl made you bitter about the country.
@@huffingearoil I saw the light.
Who cares what is your budget, I don't care.
@@eddieBoxer Then why did you watch a video on “My Monthly Budget 😀
I love to hear other peoples budgets and see what is possible to live on here in Philippines but I will say one thing brother. There are 4.3 weeks to a month, not 4 lol. If there were only 4 weeks per month there would only be 48 weeks in a year not 52. Keep up the great videos and stay happy man. ✌
What a good life. LOL.
