- We are all waiting for the new Sonos product announcement for 2024. What will it be? The Headphones? Arc Gen 2? I might have formed an idea after looking at the entire launch timeline of the past 16 years.

Era 200. Same form factor as 100 with upfiring Atmos speakers, please. The 300’s are too big and polarizing in design. Not to mention the cost.
That would be too generous for a greedy company like Sonos, and kill sales of era 100, era 300s are overkill as rear speakers ✌️🇺🇸
Thanks for the timeline of all of their products. Amazing the speed of change with Sonos product lines. I have the amp, architectural speakers, Beam 2, Sub mini, Move and Play. Love their products. Hope you’re right and that they have more innovative products coming soon.
First time here. Loved the video. So excited for a new arc to match the roaring 300’s in the rear. You got a new subscriber keep up the good work.
I really really really hope they allow us to add ceiling speakers to handle atmos! I’d rather have that as an option vs a new Arc but maybe that’s just me.

Even if the new ARC costs 1400 euros, I would buy it if it sounds like the Ambeo Plus.
Standing alone, the ARC is not the best soundbar; Sennheiser or the Devialet Dione do a better job. (But these also cost a lot more)
But with my Era 300 and the Sub Gen 3, it's a great sound that I also find better.
Even though I'm very satisfied now, I'm hoping for a new, improved ARC.
I would also like it if you could play your music from your cell phone again, as this also works with other manufacturers.

Excellent video! I've been in the Sonos ecosystem since the Playbar and Sub Gen2 and now have a home full of them. One product that you didn't cover here (albeit a niche product) is the Port, basically a Sonos streamer. For those folks with whole home systems that still own higher end component systems, the Port allows for Sonos output to a DAC, etc. to the component system. Very cool product.
Thank you for the latest video - there is also a rumoured “set top box” with video capabilities. What do you think about that? Will Arc Gen 2 have a second HDMI and video passthrough to bypass the Tv audio processing?

The ARC’s audio is a full step below the ERA 300’s which dominate the ARC home theater performance. The dispersion and depth/ height of the sound field is so much better than the ARC.
I think the initial sales of the ERA 300’s have dwindled. Stand alone Dolby atmos music customers may not find a value in it. To help drive sales of the ERA 300’s, Sonos would really need to get an Soundbar that would invite more people to augment their systems with ERA300’s
Sonos should allow you to add the in-ceiling speakers as height channels. I don't see why the Arc and Amp wouldn't work together. For example, the Fives as rears and the in ceilings for height. Or the In wall to handle left and right while the ARC acts as a center. A man can dream.

If they release true downward firing Atmos speaker support, I hope they also allow for front L/R separation as well. At that point, Sonos will definitively have *the* best wireless Home Theater on the market.
unfortunately that would defeat the purpose of soundbar but would definitely love the l/r

I just upgraded my play bar to the arc and era 300’s yesterday. I’ll be kicking myself if a gen 2 arc comes out soon.
I am waiting for Era 500... I hope it will be a next Gen Music Speaker. Sonos got none atm. Five is out dated and Era 300 to small.
I'm using an arc, gen 2 & 3 subs with a pair of fives for surround. What is the ideal format for the fives as surrounds, horizontal or vertical ?

looking for the new arc and era 500, just need to buy a tv for my office to fit them. will need to move 2 era 100s from my office to another location but once that happens every room will be setup as I have been planning. that would make it 21 speakers by that time.
Peter, you definitely know your stuff. Very informative, always. Just wondering if you have heard whether Sonos is going to make the adjustments to be able to add an extra set of Era 300's to a front speaker configuration . For a 4 Era 300 setup to go with Arc soundbar and Sub gen 3 .

Is there a release beyond 15.11 that went out this month and hasn't hit my phone? I figured they just skipped this month.
I have 15.11 installed. But when i open the sonos app it says that thee is an systemupdate. So i thought 15.12 was there, but on the sonos website they say that 15.11 is the latest update???
Just updated. It is still 15:11. So maybe just an in app updat and not something in the sonos system?

Would you please expand on why you want Sonos headphones? I'm genuinely curious, and wonder why this is such a common item wanted by my fellow Sonos fans.

I think you’re wrong about the new amp. You’re saying the new amp will simply only supplement sonos ARC, I believe the new sonos amp will be a home theater product which will allow users to process A/V to all third party passive speakers in ATMOS format. Basically an integrated A/V receiver capable of HiRes audio. I suppose we’ll see.
i can assure you the playbase was a very nice product with the perfect amount of bass for most rooms, the only problem was its tweeters
Just added a 2nd sub to my Arc and rear 300's. Result, boom disappeared. Yes, had to reduce volume but now base is smooth.
Peter, I’m surprised you didn’t mention Sonos’ acquisition of Mayht and their Heartmotion technology back ino 2022. It seems like 2024 would be a great time to update the Arc, Sub, and Sub Mini with this technology.

I think Sonos should create a Horn speaker that will enhance the nuances in the treble department and there’s alot of folks that will like even more delicate soundscape soundstage widen even more hence we get to the theory that more speakers delivers more cinematic experience. So hopefully I’m right here in Peter Pees comments section.
My wishlist (besides the headphones) would be for permanently mounted wireless speakers. Sort of like a pair of weather rated 300's.
Any details about the software update from Sonos in January 2024 ? It did not incremenent version from 15.11 but it did increment the build number ?
Would be great if Sonos provides more information about the software updates being performed on very expensive equipment....
I can't wait for Sonos to launch a "Wireless Outdoor Speaker", I have no way to run speaker wire underground to my pool pavilion. I would very much like to make my pavilion area the 8th. Sonos zone, which would eliminate having to carry my Move 2 to that area .
They need 2 Amps.. a regular updated Amp “Pro” with the features you mentioned and a lower powered slightly smaller Amp “Mini” at like 60x2 targeting mainly multi room audio that competes with WiiM Amp at a compelling prices like $399

Don’t think there is an amp gen2 but a streaming box so that matter and Dolby Atmos flexconnect could be incorporated
Hope there is no Era500 to function as rear Atmos. Era300’s power already exceeded arc and we needed a arc2 to balance out the sound. What we need is era200 to provide Atmos rears to beam.
They may give the Era 500 HDMI, so it can compete with products like the Klipsch 5/7/9 series of speakers, and in that way justify the price with or without a Sonos soundbar.
My Xfinity cable is still Dolby 5.1, 0% audio streaming I do is in Atmos, and probably around 30%-40% of streaming content is in Atmos (Netflix, Prime, Disney, Hulu, HBO, Paramount+, etc...). Currently have the Arc, dual Gen 3 subs, and Fives in main TV room. Not sure if I would want or need to upgrade to Arc Gen 2 or Era 500 unless my audio format I consume is 50%-75% Atmos? Current set-up sound fantastic and not sure if I want to spend +$2000 for a small % increase in quality.
What do you think about a Ray 2 with an HDMI input?

Please, I have a very very large hall 22 by 30 feet , and love Sonos speaker, can you tell me the type of Sonos multi room speakers that can fill all the hall and the dining with high quality sound, to entertain visitors!
My Sonos app keeps cutting out after a few seconds of music? It acts as if someone nearby has a Sonos product & is overriding my system? I use the Sonos Beam with Atmos & 2 Sons 1SL for my desktop computer sound system & because of this I can't listen to music using the Sonos app?

I got my self a Sonos Arc and realised that the TV does not have ARC output. Need your advise if I should purchase a new TV with just Arc output or Earc output.
ARC is sufficient. I used my arc soundbar with the ARC input for a few years. Worked great. The newer TVs now offer eARC which I believe is slightly better audio quality. I’m not sure I can tell the difference unless they were side by side.
Can you please do new video about new settings for arc ; gen 3 sub ; era 300 please waiting for long time .
