Plus it was the perfect story to the Phillies season. They started so poorly then made it all the way to the World Series when it would not have been possible in previous seasons. Again, this one game summarized and defined the entire seasons of both teams involved!

    Honestly... The worst part about this season is that for the first time in almost a decade... I thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to watching every angels game... The feeling of watching the no hitter that Detmers through with the lefty Rendon homer... That was a feeling of excitement that my whole family hasn't felt in a long time around Angels baseball (Skaggs' memorial combined no hitter is one exception). The entire atmosphere around them at their peak... and it all came crashing down... So sad, but also, not the least bit surprising.

      The Mets can’t continue this…. Soon Alonso will be a FA, they will be in 300m payroll territory if they resign him. Lindor isnt getting younger and ain’t what he was. Scherzer isn’t getting younger and spends time on the IL every year and degrom is made of glass.
      Realistically all hating aside they have a 2 year window with this team as constructed. Idc what kind of money they have, that team constructed as is, is full blown win now mode. Little talent in the pipeline and what talent they do have uncle Steve will trade at deadline these next few years: the future isn’t bright. All that for one maybe two WS wins. I agree rendon is a train wreck. He’s soft, has a bad attitude, and you can look up his past comments about not wanting to play forever. He came for arte and his money. Period.
      Remember when ppl said he was the best 3rd baseman in the league lmao… ahahhahaha. Best laugh of my life. So not Jose Ramirez, not arenado, but tough talking Tony was the best third base lol. Unreal.
      Fun fact. Tony rendon never even hit 30 homers until 2019 with a juiced ball. Fantastic doubles hitter and good defense but he was never gonna be that guy. To think ppl bashed arenado because he played at coors. We’ll look now.
      Nolan been had 30+ power. Fools just hated too hard to read the home away splits. He never hit less than 15 on the road from 2015 on in a full season. That translates to 30 anywhere the NL west has big parks. I get it coors boosts your averages. But coors don’t make you win 9 gold gloves in a row. Coors don’t make you hit 15 on the road every season. And what happened when he left? He’s still a 260-280 hitter with 30 home runs and the most consistent fielder at third.
      Ps…. You can save the whole kebryan Hayes is better in the field comments. They said that about Chapman and after a season or two above Nolan he came back down to earth. Nobody plays as consistently good defensively as Nolan, maybe machado has his great defensive years but even he’s a step behind. Let me add: kebryan Hayes has the power of a 12 year old in his bat. I seen more power in the little league World Series.

    I write this on June 21, 2022. The Angels 14 game losing streak began on May 25 and ended on June 9th. In a span of 27 games since May 25th the Angels have scored 5 or more runs just 7 times in 27 games and they are 2-5 in those contests. Meanwhile the Halos have given up 5 or more runs in 15 of those past 27. They are 6-21 in their last 27. Its the same story all over again. The starting pitching is decent but inconsistent. The bullpen has fallen apart. And worst of all, the Angels hitting is a MESS! When you've got infielders like: Andrew Velazques (SS) batting .175, Luis Rengifo (2B) batting .214, Tyler Wade (utility INF) batting .215, along with backup catcher Kurt Suzuki batting .207 (and arguably the worst pitch framer and defender) not to mention guys like Juan Legares batting .208 and the unfortunate realization that Anthony Rendon can't stay healthy and is out another year...the evidence is overwhelming that this team has ZERO depth in their lineup and pitching staff. Its once again a complete mess.

      Too bad pujols still averaged over 20 homers a year and paid for his own contract a billion times over in the TV money arte got when him and Hamilton signed up. The merchandise and extra tickets along with concessions sold them first few years where a boon for moreno.
      What ppl lack to understand is, until Walsh came along, all the guys who was backing him up sucked way more than him. Like Justin bour lmao. Pujols was hitting 240 that year and ppl trashed him, well bour hit 190 lmao. So who was better and gonna take his job until Walsh came along? Nobody!
      Let’s not pretend pujols didn’t have decent or even good years in an angels uniform. First year hit 28 home runs and 50 doubles. Either 2014 or 2015 he hit 40 home runs. And in 2016 he went 30 and 100. So spare me the pujols was a distant comments. If his name wasn’t pujols and it was Joe Schmo the fans would be like… look at Joe Schmo he just went 28 bombs with 50 doubles and a 280 average (pujols first year stats). I get it, he wasn’t 30 million a year good. But he wasn’t a bum until his last 4-5 years. But last I checked nobody put a gun to morenos head and made him sign. So blame Moreno.
      The only reason he held anyone back was because arte had a self imposed cap of 180 million or less for all those years and would not spend on pitching. Ask any angels fan how their pitching was from 2012-2021, and don’t get me started on the trash bullpens they ran out. Please!

    Something that is glaring to me about the Angels that know body talks about is the minor league system.. Its horrible. Does nothing for the team or the league...
    Why is that you never hear about any good players being produced in the Angels system? I cant remember one player that came out and was a star..
    Why is it that teams like the Rays and dodgers have so many prospects who all seem to blossom in the major leagues... Some becoming stars. The exact opposite can be said of the Angels minor leaguers.. Because those other teams value and put lots of $$$ into the Minor Leagues unlike the Halos management and ownership. Its so obvious. Moreno is a cheap ass. You would think that since they have one of the best of all time and Ohtani that they would understand they need to invest in minor leagues to get cheap home grown talent since most of their money will be locked up with those 2. But no...
    To keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is where the Angels are and I dont see anything good coming out of this kind of strategy... So expect more of the same from this organization... Crap....

      Josh Hamilton was one of baseball's most dominant hitters at the time of the signing as well, just like Rendon was when he was dealt to the Angels. They both have been major disappointments in Anaheim, with Hamilton returning to Texas just a couple of seasons after the Angels acquired him. Rendon's fate has yet to be determined, but I figure it'll be no better than Hamilton's outcome.

    • @smellyfly9469
      @smellyfly9469 2 года назад

      The terrible fielders aren’t the home run hitters the problem is having low production from the bottom of the order in wade,Velasquez,Suzuki,rengifo,lagares. You can have one of them not hit well but all 5 is horrendous and the only one out of those 5 playing exceptional defense is Velasquez.

    • @steveperez424
      @steveperez424 2 года назад

      @@smellyfly9469 I'm just not onboard with the idea that Velasquez needs to play because of his exceptional defense. His offense is horrendous hitting .172, and he looks like he's always swinging for the fence. If he's not going to produce much at the plate, he should at least work towards being a role player and try to get on base. That's obviously not the case when he's always going up there first pitch swinging. He's such an offensive liability. How many times was he the last out in the video we just watched about the 14 game losing streak? To me Velasquez is a coaching issue. Someone needs to put him in check about his approach at the plate.

Oh, gotta get some supercars and some luxury cars. Then he'll realize, Crap! I still have $20 million to spend. And it gets worse. The Angels are going to torture Mr. Trout with an additional $35M for the next 11 years, leaving him with nearly a half billion dollars. What can one do? Baseball skills are important b/c we all like baseball. But should we like it to the tune of $35 million for a single player? My younger sister, a 4th-grade teacher, makes $60K. She'd need to work 583 years to match the $35 million a ball player makes in a year.
