    I love that 14 and 15 instantly hugged and supported each other. Every other Doctor had mean encounters with his/her other incarnations, but these two showed love to each other, because thats what the 15th Doctor is:
    He's the Doctor Who learned to love himself.

    • @vapoet
      @vapoet 10 месяцев назад +39

      I think the encounter on the 50th anniversary changed all that. 10 and 11 grew to really appreciate each other. It is natural that 14, with his feelings of 10 and no real sadness at regeneration, naturally felt kinship with 15.

    15 is a healed Doctor. From all the fights and traumas the Doctor had to endure since the beginning, 14 is learning to accept them and heal himself with a little help from himself, his friends and companions. So the bigeneration kinda crosses the "natural" path of regeneration because the Doctor doesn't carry all the emotional weight of his past selves anymore. Also, it's also a clean fresh start for 15.
    Whereas in the 50th anniversary the Doctor saves Gallifrey, in the 60th the Doctor saves himself.

      @SandSlash242 10 месяцев назад +5

      No because 14 didn't regenerate, just bigenerate which means he is still himself but Ncuti is 15 and is completely new. The rules of that will be explained in his future seasons but at some point 15 and 14 will merge again into one, likely during 15's regeneration. So 16 will have both their memories. OR a theory is that any memory that 14 creates, 15 already has/ gets it. Since timey whimey. But they both pretty much have to die at the same time if 15 regens since there is only one doctor and they both can't regen seperately. I probably think they'll go in the route of "14th dies happy with one last adventure and 15 will get his memories" anyways since they'll be in different places in time and space. Because I know they are gonna make some books or episodes with 14th and his own adventures. It would be cool if they both regen together holding hands. It would be so cool.

    Eric is right on the bi-regeneration. They are still the same Doctor, one is 14, the other 15. It's a paradox - 15 is the one the makes 14 rest and heal, which in turn benefits 15, who is a healthier Doctor as a result of 14's work on himself. Also, they say how 15 is the older version, just like 14 is older than 11, or 1. Plus they shared the one outfit because they were the same person. Loved the division of the outfit across the two! And although we haven't had it expressly stated, I took it that because the Toymaker was in the universe and all things were possible, like the salt superstition, the myth that was bi-regeneration became no longer just a myth, but real, so the Toymaker caused the thing that led to his demise. I know some hate it and think DT is going to somehow overshadow Ncuti's era, but as RTD says there's always THE Doctor, which is the one we follow and now that's 15. Sure, I love that 14 isn't gone for now in this universe, as I love Tennant, but I'm excited for the new era with Ncuti. I think he's going to be great! They've already filmed his whole first series and are currently filming his second series!

      This is why the bigeneration can make sense for me, it's like the early appearance of Cho-Je out of sync with the regeneration. 14 does eventually become 15, but the intervention of the Toymaker made him appear early.

    NGL, not too big a fan of bi-generation, but I like the idea that the only reason it worked was because of the toymaker. he can change reality on a whim, so him consciously or unconsciously making the myth of bi-generation an actual possibility is something I can see happening.

      The Doctor invoked a superstition at the edges of existence, which allowed a god-like being to pass into the universe and caused a Timelord myth to become real. Sounds reasonable to me.
      Definitely odd, but hey it's Doctor Who. And 14 seems as though he remerges with 15 at some point (hence 15 saying he's better because 14 fixes himself - at some point 15 at least gets 14's memories of staying with Donna in some way).

That was hilarious and just goofy enough for Doctor Who. If you've seen the Paul McGann movie, the Doctor confirms in the opening narration that the Master has used all his lives. He was given a new set by the Time Lords for the Time War, with Derek Jacobi being the first, then it's John Simm > Michelle Gomez > Sacha Dhawan. So we're only on 4. And the other things I liked was the return of Mel of course another companion from classic who as well. She’s was another companion from the 80s era of the show. 40:48 Mark! Hmm. I think it was one of "The Normies" that pointed at their monitor and yelled out, "That's the new Doctor! That's the new Doctor!" They reacted with confusion. 😮😅

    Anything that gives us the possibility of more Tate/Tennant is fine with me. A UNIT spin-off maybe? Regardless Ncuti's doctor has a vibe that is just so joyful. His doctor seems like he's going to be so much fun.

    I just got to this episode, I can't believe they never had NPH say "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!"

    Watch the Doctor Who Unleashed (or was it in the RUclips behind the scenes video?) where they talk about when RTD decided to make the Tardis wheelchair accessible and the reason why, and Ruth Madeley tearing up when talking about it. It's really touching.

    Remember, the Tardis doesn't always get the Doctor where he wants to go, but it always gets him where he *needs* to go...

    The Spice Girl scene is honestly a mix of alot of emotions, but the biggest one is fear. The Toymaker is so powerful, so confident and doesn't care for his "players" he strolls in, dances, kills and does what he wants just to beat The Doctor.
    It's terrifying to face such a foe. Like Q from Star Trek, Discord from Friendship is Magic and Bill Cypher rolled up in one!

    Where's the reaction to the 2023 Christmas Special?

    10/14 is always gonna be MY Doctor but I did take an immediate shine to Ncuti he’s got a wonderful energy. And yeah- door is wide open for Tennant to return for a future special or cameo. He definitely deserved the ending he got. ❤

    I love that absolutely EVERYONE (myself included) thought Kate was gonna smack Ten/fourteen. I was thinking wait, why is she blaming the Doctor, he didn’t do anything. Nice fake out, Davies.

    I’m guessing that the gold tooth was taken by Jinx Monsoon. I heard she is going to be on the show and the hand had nail polish on it. Who she is playing? No idea. The Rani?

      The return of the Rani would be cool. Anything is possible now that we have seen a First Doctor adversary return. I'm hoping for The Valyard as well, honestly.

    There's always 15 doctors running around in the TARDIS so I'm totally fine with another out there. It ultimately changes nothing.

    7:00 The TARDIS doesn't always take The Doctor where he want to go... but she always tooks him where he needs to go.

    @blindwave regarding the master's regeneration when we meet him in classic who (70s) he was on his final regeneration and in order to cheat death he possessed a body via the power of the keeper(80s) of traken before eventually being executed by the daleks (90s )thus the beginning doctor who tv movie things happened during the 8ths run via audiobooks eventually being resurrected by the time lords to fight in the time war where he given a new regeneration cycle starting with the war master also known as Yana played by Derek jacobi making simms his 2nd from his new cycle and missy and Sacha being 3rd and 4th of 12 although I prefer the fan theory Sacha being before missy thus missy completes the Roger Delgado (original master) original story arc where he turns good and sacrifices his life for the doctor. This story was never finished due to Delgado dying in a accident.
    Also fun fact the master has played a part in most doctors deaths 4 7 10 12 and 13 which is funny considering in the five doctors he mentioned wanting to kill the doctor 5 times over.

    I think the hand that picked up the Master's ring looked like it belonged to Shirley, the UNIT scientist?
