Thank you for your build instructions, I’m about to mod mine, I’m also adding sheet metal reinforcements so it’s not stressing the plywood itself, (I have an Odessey case for the DDJ-1000) let’s see what happens! This also my second arm, the first one is mounted on my studio desk for my beat making stuff..
I have the original gator case with arm...$500. I noticed your arm was very low. You could make some type of extension and put it over the mount/pole and make your laptop higher. I like mine at almost eye level.
Great video! Excellent install. If I may suggest you can take the 2 thumb screws in place them in laptop trey while it's apart. This way there is no need to rely on the magnetic holder. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing bro!
Nice work keep it up Your videos are the best I always love watching it especially the DJ ones Thank you for the videos Nice work keep it up 👍👍👍👍😃👍😃😃👍😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
I wanna see you put an xlr mic lead in that mic input where the laptop mount is, i dont think it will go in. Well it might go in but it will be putting stress on the input socket with sideways pressure.
Also i did powercons in my case and next time get some rubber shrink wrap for your terminal connections as well as use the electrical tape , you dealing with 120V AC best to be safe than sorry. good video
Nice work on your case. Great idea to have everything in your coffin. That case must be heavy as shit! I'm guessing close to 100lbs. All I got to say for a critique is use cable ties to clean it up, as long as you don't do a part 4 and add another component, you won't have to cut cable ties out. Great work!
Also, at what point did you decide you needed the DBX Driverack. I currently only have 2 15" Tops and a controller. My mic is hardwired to the controller input. I need to upgrade I know...
Never needed it. I still dont need it. I got it because I do a variety of different speaker and amp configurations. I wanted to have complete control over that audio and what it sounds like.
Did you used to have the sliding deck? Also how is the sz held down just the 4 squares of Velcro? Looking to go to a laptop arm and ditch the top deck on my prox case
Hi Rick. lovin your videos . was thinking of doing the same thing. Just had a question so I noticed in the video you use the three boltholes in the metal plate have you found they hold the base securely without using the big bolt in the middle
i have a gator case and it came with the G-tour arm the one you are referring to, and i bought some for my home set up and yes they are expensive, about $150 bucks each, but to store your arm in the case get some extra long wraparound velcro straps and you good. velcro is our friend lol. but LMAO at that frustration part ive been there like "FUUUUUUUCK"
Sorry for the late comment, but where do you plug your mics into? i run mine out into a mixer, and i was wondering if there is a way to control channels from the dbx-looking to do a similar case build for my sx3. Thanks!
Hey DJ Rick Webb I am a young 15 year old dj and I have started a dj business about 5-6 months ago because I am confident enough with my skill. My problem I’m having is getting more gigs and advertising as I have little money to work with. I do work with other djs in my area and do have a lot of gear and music. Any ideas?
Got to spend money to make money. Referrals are number one source of new business though. Look into developing incentives for past clients to provide you with new client referrals.
I had no idea your mic receiver was under your controller. In all your events you seem to be pretty far from it so I don't see any problem with losing coverage, is that right? I use an external mixer when I need to use a microphone because the quality that comes from my mic controller input is terrible. Is that essentially why you use a driverack is for a better sounding mic?
Correct under the sz. And I have had no issues with my gtd rack with long signal. And no the driverack was and doesnt improve my mic audio. It does reduce feedback though
I'm looking for a case that will work best with my DDJ 1000.. Would you recommend this PRO X or would you go with something else if you were doing it over again ? Thanks !
Hi, How did you earth the powercon connection? I would like to put a powercon connection on the side of my rack of 12 wireless mics but I’m not sure how to earth it.
Hi DJ RIck Webb your using a DriveRack PA2 JBL SRX815P and JBL VRX 918s how did you configure these ? I saw that you've plug these Top and Sub in DR PA2 in Low and High so the audio comes out on SRX815P will be High only am i correct? If not, what is the configuration did you manage to set on these audio gears? Kindly detail...Thanks
The output labels having nothing to do with the actual signal that comes out. The high mid and low are really 3 full range outputs that you can set your crossovers, gain, limiters, parametric eq, delay differently on all 3 outputs. Go watch my live stream on the dbx drive rack for more detail
@@DJRickWeb Many thanks man for speedy response, i have the same audio gears that you have except for the sub, my sub is dB Technologies SUB 18H which has a built-in crossover,. So the sounds out on your SRX 815P has a high, mid and low as well? I mean the normal sounds will come out without the DR PA2.
So is everyone using the SZ ? What is the go to controller, or even better, what is the go to laptop stand ? Anyone using the cases with the laptop shelf ?
So just wanted to put some thoughts down. I have multiple buddies with the sz. A couple got the laptop shelf. But haye it because of how far away there laptop is from where they stand.
i like portability my ddj sb2 is portable enough for me i do want a case for it though that would protect it and deep enough to put a pa2 in mine also but you case is a sick build rick keep it up with the vids brother.
I just had me a dell laptop built max ram i5 core 1 gig hd widows 10 stripped down version pro 14inch screen weighs 4 pounds 998 free space left it is sweet now got to buy another licence for serato pro wich sucks
Oh yeah.. be careful on your electrical part of it.. using smaller gauge wiring on the con plug... because you have to remember voltage gain.. in other words.. the minimum wire size for your electrical should be 14-gauge for 15amps... 12 gauge for 20 amps... because when you pump your speakers.. the amperage gain goes up... something to think about... I'm an electrician so just trying to look out for you
There is only 1.5 amps running through the case man. I think it's fine. Also I know all that stuff. I took electrical engineering classes. You also have to consider length when you talk about amps and wire gauge
@@DJRickWeb .. please don't take it like I was trying to shit on you... that wasn't the intention... I actually like that idea.. my cable's are those new integrated wires that has both speaker and power together.. snake wires... Hosa wires.. but again koolllllll....
You know if that laptop case came standard with that arm and everyone had it but then someone invented a slide tray to slide back-and-forth on the case to put your laptop on top of it you will be modifying your case to have a slide tray. It’s just human nature.
Rick- Why are adding more weight to this already very over weight case? I know you are very young, but this will haunt you later in life with back problems. Get a soft case for the DDJ-SZ and a light weight SKB rack mount case for the PA2 and wireless receiver.

How did you connect the pa2 to the pioneer sz ? I would like to see im looking into buying one as well
Xlr cables. Nothing special.
24:56....hole in sock....winning! Great video as always!

Nice build Rick, I wish I had time to DJ more and make money to buy all the toys you have. That case is the bomb
I have the original gator case with arm...$500. I noticed your arm was very low. You could make some type of extension and put it over the mount/pole and make your laptop higher. I like mine at almost eye level.
Yeah the gator is taller. I also slid mine down about 4 inches on the mount. So I could raise it. I like the height it is at though
Great video!
Excellent install.

Thanks for sharing bro!
Because space is tight on top the sz they wont fit in the tray with the case lid shut. That was my initial spot to put them
DJ Rick Web lol
I figured there was a reason because you a very thorough.
Nice work!
Nice work keep it up

It fits amd yes it dies put pressure. Has it like that for over a year now. And well over 100 events using it like that. No issues
Nice job bro. Hopefully getting a new controller soon. can't wait till laptop vid
Loving this. Working on my build soon
Love your videos. Very helpful
hi DjRickWeb brilliant idea and i'm going to get a laptop melt for my laptop when i get a dj table
that is an awesome stand!
Now I'm inspired to modify my ATA case
Tip #2. Heat shrink instead of electrical tape.
Good point. The shrink wrap I had wasn't big enough for the powercon
Another great video.
Also i did powercons in my case and next time get some rubber shrink wrap for your terminal connections as well as use the electrical tape , you dealing with 120V AC best to be safe than sorry. good video
It was so late I forgot to even do shrink wrap. I have a whole box full of it.
Take a shot every time Rick says literally
Hi Rick , very nice set up , have you had any problems with the Dbx over heating being underneath of your controller?
Thank you!
No it gets hot though.
Nice work on your case. Great idea to have everything in your coffin. That case must be heavy as shit! I'm guessing close to 100lbs. I do have cable ties all through it actually. Must not have put that on camera
Great videos. Would you ever consider upgrading to a sx3. I'd it better or worse.
It's worse really. Same features just smaller overall. Unless smaller and lighter is a plus for you then it's better lol
Great thanks
Hey cool video..I have to ask.. what size wire did you use for speaker out.. on your xlr out puts.. on your case build..
20 gauge.
Hey Rick, new subscriber, could you share a link to the Laptop Arm Mount screws you used? thanks, good video
No link really. Went to home depot and bought multiple sizes and used what worked
Good video, do you keep your music in your laptop. Where do you plug your speakers power cords into. Just wondering.
All music is on my laptop. And I use a power conditioner to plug everything into depends on setup size etc
@ DJ Rick Web, what's size hard drive is on your computer. Where do you house your conditioner.
I dont house it anywhere just set it down. And you will have to wait on the laptop video to drop late tonight
What's the exact flex mount model
it's amazing.. GJ Bro
Would this support an Akai MPC 2000xl drum machine? Thanks.
What wireless microphone system are you looking into to replace your GTD?
Audio technica. Not sure what model yet.
Did you used to have the sliding deck? Also how is the sz held down just the 4 squares of Velcro? Looking to go to a laptop arm and ditch the top deck on my prox case
No I never had a slide laptop deck. And yeah velcro and the lid has foam padding

What arm is that? Or did it come with the case?
I made a video on installing it
Nice I just install my one 🫡thank you sir
Hey Rick, how is the ProX case holding up after all this time?
Amazingly
Rad, thank you

They are ran into the sz and control with the sz mic input controls
DJ Rick Web thanks!

Hi, How did you earth the powercon connection? I would like to put a powercon connection on the side of my rack of 12 wireless mics but I’m not sure how to earth it.
Redbrick Name just a guess but he may have used the ground on the sz.
Its grounded using the surge protector. The surge protector is a 3 cable. Hot neutral ground. And so is the powercon.
DJ Rick Web thank you
Nice mate!

I am not sure.... I'll check on that tomorrow before I leave for expo.

Do you sell cases already moded?
No
